Internet of Things (IoT) applications have recently been widely used in safety-critical scenarios. To prevent sensitive information leaks, IoT device vendors provide hardware-assisted protections, called Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), like ARM Trust-Zone. Programming a TEE-based application requires separate code for two components, significantly slowing down the development process. Existing solutions tackle this issue by automatic code partition while not successfully applying it in two complicated scenarios: adding trusted logic and interactions with secure *** propose dTEE, a declarative approach to secure IoT applications based on TrustZone. dTEE proposes a rapid approach that enables developers to declare tiered-sensitive variables and functions of existing applications. Besides, dTEE automatically transforms device drivers into trusted ones. We evaluate dTEE on four real-world IoT applications and seven micro-benchmarks. Results show that dTEE achieves high expressiveness for supporting 50% more applications than existing approaches and reduces 90% of the lines of code against handcrafted development. © 2024 IEEE.

A Multimodal Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithm for Filter Feature Selection in Multilabel Classification

Multilabel learning is an emergent topic that addresses the challenge of associating multiple labels with a single instance simultaneously. Multilabel datasets often exhibit high dimensionality with noisy, irrelevant, and redundant features. In recent years, multilabel feature selection (MLFS) has gained prominence as a crucial and emerging machine learning task due to its ability to handle such data effectively. However, existing approaches for MLFS often prioritize top-ranked features based on intrinsic data criteria, disregarding relationships within the feature subset. Additionally, compared with conventional feature selection, multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs) have not been widely explored in the context of MLFS. This study aims to address these gaps by proposing a multimodal multiobjective evolutionary algorithm (MMOEA) called MMDE_SICD which incorporates a preelimination scheme, an improved initialization scheme, an exploration scheme inspired by genetic operations and a statistically inspired crowding distance scheme. The results show that the proposed MMDE_SICD algorithm can outperform a variety of MOEAs and MMOEAs as well as conventional MLFS algorithms. Notably, this study is the first of its kind to consider MLFS as a multimodal multiobjective problem. © 2020 IEEE.

Explainable fake news detection predicts the authenticity of news items with annotated explanations. Today, Large Language Models (LLMs) are known for their powerful natural language understanding and explanation generation abilities. However, using LLMs for explainable fake news detection remains two main challenges. Firstly, fake news appears reasonable and could easily mislead LLMs, leaving them unable to understand the complex news-faking process. Secondly, utilizing LLMs for this task would generate correct and incorrect explanations, requiring abundant labor in the loop. In this paper, we propose LLM-GAN, a novel framework that utilizes prompting mechanisms to enable an LLM to function as a Generator and a Detector for realistic fake news generation and detection. Extensive experimental results demonstrate LLM-GAN's effectiveness in both prediction performance and explanation quality. © 2025 IEEE.

A Digital Twin and Consensus Empowered Cooperative Control Framework for Platoon-Based Autonomous Driving

Impulsive Control of Nonlinear Multi-Agent Systems: A Hybrid Fuzzy Adaptive and Event-Triggered Strategy

This paper presents a hybrid control approach that integrates an adaptive fuzzy mechanism with an event-triggered impulse strategy to address consensus control challenges in nonlinear Multi-Agent Systems (MASs) with uncertain information, both in leader and leaderless scenarios. Firstly, a fuzzy logic-based adaptive control mechanism is proposed to handle system nonlinearity and uncertainty. This mechanism dynamically adjusts fuzzy control rules in real time, enabling the system to adapt to changing conditions and enhancing its robustness against nonlinear disturbances. Secondly, to alleviate communication overhead and reduce control frequency, an event-triggered impulse strategy is implemented. This strategy activates impulse control only under specific conditions, effectively minimizing control actions while maintaining system consensus. Using Lyapunov stability theory, sufficient conditions for achieving system consensus are established, demonstrating the global consensus and robustness of the MASs under certain criteria. Finally, numerical simulations and experimental evaluations validate the proposed method's effectiveness and its practical advantages. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper introduces an autonomous and cost-effective method for assessing cycleway pavement roughness, using an action camera equipped with high-resolution sensors including an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and a Global Positioning System (GPS). The methodology utilizes simplified quarter car model for bicycles, without manual intervention, to calculate International Roughness Index (IRI) for cycleway surface quality evaluation. It utilizes our novel approach to determine stable section from which average acceleration orientation vector is computed. For analysis we propose a corrected-roughness index (CRI), which is a quantized version of IRI. Experiments conducted on asphalt cycleways in Ireland revealed strong correlations between vehicle vibration and surface roughness. Results further demonstrate the consistency of the proposed model across different bikes through comparative analysis. Observations indicate bias in vibration data, influenced by different tire sizes and the mechanical features of the bicycles. Enhancing the blockchain interoperability through federated learning with directed acyclic graph

The use of federated learning to achieve blockchain interoperability has become a hot topic in research, because it enables data exchange without revealing any private information. However, the previous work, such as ScaleSFL (Asia-CCS, 2022), that has implemented federated learning for blockchain interoperability, the throughput of the framework still cannot support the practical applications. Therefore, a federated learning framework based on Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) is proposed which utilizes sharding mechanism to enhance the blockchain interoperability. By constructing a weighted context graph based on data correlation, reasonable sharding of the dataset is achieved, thereby improving the efficiency of blockchain interoperability. The experimental results show that the federated framework reduces global computation in federated learning by 30% compared with other schemes, while increasing blockchain throughput by nearly 40%. © 2023 The Authors. Multi-output regression involves predicting two or more target variables simultaneously. In contrast to its single-output counterpart, multi-output regression poses additional challenges primarily because the target variables are frequently interdependent. Achieving accurate predictions for one variable may necessitate a thorough consideration of its relationships with other variables. In this paper, multi-output regression problems are regarded as multi-task optimization problems where predicting one output variable is considered as one task. A new multi-task multi-population genetic programming method is proposed to solve the problem. The method utilizes the semantic based crossover operator to transfer positive knowledge and accelerate convergence. Additionally, it adopts an offspring reservation strategy to keep the quality of the individuals for the corresponding tasks. The empirical results demonstrate that our proposed method significantly enhances the training and the test performances of multi-task multi-population GP and also outperforms standard GP on five real-world multi-output regression datasets. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Humor, deeply rooted in societal meanings and cultural details, poses a unique challenge for machines. While advances have been made in natural language processing, real-world humor often thrives in a multi-modal context, encapsulated distinctively by memes. This paper poses a particular emphasis on the impact of multi-images on meme captioning. After that, we introduce the XMeCap framework, a novel approach that adopts supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning based on an innovative reward model, which factors in both global and local similarities between visuals and text. Our results, benchmarked against contemporary models, manifest a marked improvement in caption generation for both single-image and multi-image memes, as well as different meme categories. XMeCap achieves an average evaluation score of 75.85 for single-image memes and 66.32 for multi-image memes, outperforming the best baseline by 3.71% and 4.82%, respectively. This research not only establishes a new frontier in meme-related studies but also underscores the potential of machines in understanding and generating humor in a multi-modal setting. © 2024 ACM.
