Outage Prediction and Improvement in 6G for UAV Swarm Relays Using Machine Learning

The issue of signal outages in sub-THz frequency communication for future 6G networks is addressed by this research. A machine learning method is proposed, employing Random Forest and K-Means algorithms to predict the optimal frequency band and outage probabilities for UAV relays. Both space and frequency diversity are explored to enhance signal strength, and metasurface-carrying UAVs are introduced with a 16 × 16 mm2 design. This design significantly reduces the predicted outage probability from 0.1% to 0.0178%. Finally, triangular and hexagonal UAV swarm formations with metasurfaces are investigated, demonstrating improved performance through heatmap results. © (2024), (Electromagnetics Academy). Assessing individual risks of healthy aging using biomarkers and identifying associated factors have become important areas of *** this study,we conducted a literature review of relevant publications between 2018 and 2023 in both Chinese and English *** studies have predominantly used single biomarkers,such as C-reactive protein,or focused on specific life course stages and factors such as socioeconomic status,mental health,educational levels,and unhealthy *** summarizing the progress in this field,our study provides valuable insights and future directions for promoting healthy aging from a life course perspective.

One of the most important subjects in statistics is the theory of estimation. In this paper, we consider the generalized Bayes shrinkage estimator of the mean vector for multivariate normal distribution with the unknown covariance matrix under balanced quadratic loss. Also, we find the minimax and admissible estimator of the mean vector based on the generalized Bayes estimator. We obtain Stein’s unbiased risk estimator (SURE) threshold with a generalized Bayes shrinkage estimator and we find the wavelet shrinkage generalized Bayes SURE. Finally, we present a simulation study to test the validity of the generalized Bayes SURE and the concrete compressive strength dataset is given to test the efficiency of this estimator in denoising. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Traffic sign detection and recognition (TSDR) is a crucial technology to realize vehicle autonomous driving and maintain road safety. Misdetection or misclassification of traffic signs can lead to serious traffic accidents. Therefore, it is essential to ensure the correctness of traffic sign detection and recognition systems. However, most existing methods use labeled data, but it isn't easy to obtain labeled data. The metamorphic testing can reduce the dependence on the labeled data, but the current metamorphic relations do not consider the domain characteristics of traffic signs, so it is difficult to effectively detect traffic sign detection and recognition systems faults. To solve the above problems, this paper introduces metamorphic testing to verify traffic sign detection and recognition systems and designs and implements a tool, MTSDR, which provides a series of metamorphic relations in the traffic domain. It can generate many follow-up test images based on these metamorphic relations and automatically performs tests for evaluation, focusing on practical failure situations. The experimental evaluation was carried out on four advanced traffic sign detection and recognition models on open datasets. The results show that MTSDR can generate natural images and find thousands of traffic sign detection and recognition faults. Compared with the previous methods, our method has a higher fault detection capability, and the highest fault detection rate reaches more than 40%. In addition, it finds that retraining the traffic sign detection and recognition models using the images that found the fault can improve the model's performance, reduce its fault, and reduce the fault rate by 11.77% on average. © 2023 IEEE.

In this study, cotton stalks from Xinjiang Alar were used as raw materials. Preparation of modified cotton straw-based activated carbon by microwave-assisted pyrolysis using H3PO4 as activator. The effects of different impregnation ratios, microwave power and irradiation time on the yield of cotton straw carbon and its adsorption performance on Ni2+ in the simulated wastewater were investigated by using Lagergren's quasi primary and secondary adsorption kinetic equations. The experimental results showed that the adsorption performance of the modified cotton straw-based activated carbon was best under the conditions of 100 mL of simulated wastewater, Ni2+ mass concentration of 30 mg/L, pH = 6.5, impregnation ratio of 1.5, microwave power of 600W and irradiation time of 7 minutes, and the adsorption kinetics of Ni2+ was in accordance with Lagergren quasi-secondary kinetic equations. The BET surface area and total pore volume of the modified cotton straw-based activated carbon were 1334 m2/g and 0.918 m3/g, respectively, which were 112 and 29 times higher than those of the direct pyrolysis activated carbon. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press.

Reliable fuzzy control of uncertain nonlinear networked systems under actuator faults

This study investigates a reliable fuzzy static-output feedback control (SOFC) scheme for uncertain Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy model (TSFM)-based nonlinear systems under the networked induced delays, information package losses and actuator faults, simultaneously. For this purpose, firstly, a comprehensive model for the actuator fault is suggested to enhance the performance of the actuator in the networked control systems (NCSs). More precisely, the suggested model contains an additive stochastic perturbation term in the actuator to further realize the control scheme. Besides, the Markov chain (MC) is employed to model the networked induced arbitrary delays and the information package losses. Hence, the corresponding closed-loop system lies in the Markovian jump systems (MJS). Then, based on the Lyapunov theory, the stochastic robust stability of the obtained system is studied and necessary conditions are extracted in new offline linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Since the accurate value of the transition probabilities (TP) of the MC is not definite and even the identification is difficult, in view of practical applications in our control strategy, partly unknown TPs are assumed. Finally, to validate the superiorities of the suggested control approach, a truck-trailer system is adopted and simulated. The simulation results confirm the superiorities of the suggested control approach. © 2023 ISA

Un-refined pseudo labels always disturb the cross-domain Re-ID performance in unsupervised clustering methods. In this paper, we propose a consistency-aware unsupervised label learning network to refine noisy labels for promising domain adaptation. Specifically, we use a hetero-generated label consistency constraint to mine possible label information, keep a reference consistency of the target pairs on the relative comparative characteristics. We then use a cross-granularity attention consistency constraint to refine the pseudo labels meanwhile learning multi-granularity discriminative representation, keeping a self-similarity consistency of the corresponding parts on the discriminative regions. Our model is fine-tuned by the refined pseudo-labels to reduce the domain gap while coping with the intra-domain variation. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve superior performance on several benchmark datasets. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Recently,Siamese-based trackers have achieved excellent performance in object ***,the high speed and deformation of objects in the movement process make tracking ***,we have incorporated cascaded region-proposal-network(RPN)fusion and coordinate attention into Siamese *** proposed network framework consists of three parts:a feature-extraction sub-network,coordinate attention block,and cascaded RPN *** exploit the coordinate attention block,which can embed location information into channel attention,to establish long-term spatial location dependence while maintaining channel ***,the features of different layers are enhanced by the coordinate attention *** then send these features separately into the cascaded RPN for classification and *** to the two classification and regression results,the final position of the target is *** verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,we conducted comprehensive experiments on the OTB100,VOT2016,UAV123,and GOT-10k *** with other state-of-the-art trackers,the proposed tracker achieved good performance and can run at real-time speed.

Image segmentation via two-step deep variational priors

This paper proposes an iterative deep variational approach for image segmentation in a fusion manner: it is not only able to realize selective segmentation, but can also alleviate the issue of parameter/initialization dependency. Moreover, it possesses a refinement process designed to handle challenging scenarios, such as images containing obscured, damaged, or absent objects, or those with complex backgrounds. Our proposed approach consists of two main procedures, i.e., selective segmentation and shape transformation. The first procedure works as a stem in a totally unsupervised way. A convolutional neural network (CNN) based architecture is properly incorporated into the selective weighting constrained variational segmentation model. The second procedure is to further refine the outputs. This part can be achieved in two ways: one direction is to establish a joint model with the semantic shape constraint. The other technical direction is to make the shape descriptor separated from the joint model and work as an individual unit. In the proposed approach, the minimization problem is transformed from iterative minimization for each variable to automatically minimizing the loss function by learning the generator network parameters. This also leads to a good inductive bias associated with classic variational methods. Extensive experiments have demonstrated the significant advantages. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Web services have been integrated with all walks of life in society. Abnormalities in the network and services seriously affect user experience and company revenue. The system log records various information of the system, and the information-rich log messages usually show different anomalies. It is particularly important to accurately and timely identify the anomalies of the log messages and classify the anomalies. In addition, most of the current existing work only detects anomalies and does not classify them, and a few existing works require anomaly labels to classify anomalies. Based on these potential challenges, we propose an unsupervised hypersphere-based log message anomaly detection and classification method, LogADCH. We use the hypersphere loss function to let the BERT model learn compact representations of log messages and perform anomaly detection. Finally, K-Means clustering is performed on the semantic feature vectors detected as anomalies to form clusters of different types of anomalies. Compared with other works, LogADCH further classifies the abnormal types after detecting the abnormal logs, helping the operation and maintenance personnel to quickly locate the fault. We compare our method with other methods on two public datasets, and the experimental results show that LogADCH has superior performance in anomaly detection as well as anomaly classification. © 2023 IEEE.
