As a standardized and systematic management method, business process management plays an important role in the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) scenario. With the rapid development of mobile Internet and the increasing amount of data generated by the Internet of Things devices, the traditional storage scheme can no longer meet the requirements of managing the IIoT mobile business data. The cloud-edge collaborative data storage scheme provides mass storage capability by the cloud data center, and meanwhile takes access delay into account by storing data in the edge servers near to user, making it an effective solution to manage mobile business data in the IIoT scenario. However, the storage capacity of edge servers is relatively limited. How to design a reasonable data placement strategy to maximize the speed of data reading and tasks execution in IIoT business process has become an urgent problem to be solved. In order to shorten the overall running time, reduce data transmission costs and enhance users experience, we propose a data placement strategy based on Bayesian optimization algorithm, which can reasonably allocate storage capacity in the edge side, and further determine which edge server the data should be placed on. The results of the experiment show that the strategy based on our proposed algorithm performs better in a variety of different scenarios than the ones that based on other kind of optimization algorithms which have been adopted in similar studies.

Along with the development of modern computing technology and social sciences, both theoretical research and practical applications of social computing have been continuously extended. In particular with the boom of artificial intelligence (AI), social computing is significantly influenced by AI. However, the conventional technologies of AI have drawbacks in dealing with more complicated and dynamic problems. Such deficiency can be rectified by hybrid human-artificial intelligence (H-AI) which integrates both human intelligence and AI into one unity, forming a new enhanced intelligence. H-AI in dealing with social problems shows the advantages that AI can’t surpass. This paper firstly introduces the concepts of H-AI. AI is the intelligence in the transition stage of H-AI, so the latest research progresses of AI in social computing are reviewed. Secondly, it summarizes typical challenges faced by AI in social computing, and makes it possible to introduce H-AI to solve these challenges. Finally, the paper proposes a holistic framework of social computing combining with H-AI, which consists of four layers: object layer, base layer, analysis layer, and application layer. Solidity, like other programming languages, is evolving with many new features being introduced and deprecated features being removed. However, not every feature benefits developers and sometimes it may do more harm than good. In the hope of knowing the actual use of language features and helping improving them, we summarize 41 common features, discuss their pros and cons, and conduct an empirical study. We design an extensible feature analysis tool to analyze their distribution in 172,645 real-world smart contracts. We further analyze the reason why some features are popular. We invite readers for a case study to understand the usage patterns and how seemingly benign features produce subtle bugs. It turns out that some features like high-level function invocations, visibility, events, and assertions are popular while developers cares little about some other features like function modifier overloading. After summarizing our findings, we give suggestions to different people in Solidity community.

The rapid advancement of photorealistic generators has reached a critical juncture where the discrepancy between authentic and manipulated images is increasingly indistinguishable. Thus, benchmarking and advancing techniques detecting digital manipulation become an urgent issue. Although there have been a number of publicly available face forgery datasets, the forgery faces are mostly generated using GAN-based synthesis technology, which does not involve the most recent technologies like diffusion. The diversity and quality of images generated by diffusion models have been significantly improved and thus a much more challenging face forgery dataset shall be used to evaluate SOTA forgery detection literature. In this paper, we propose a large-scale, diverse, and fine-grained high-fidelity dataset, namely GenFace, to facilitate the advancement of deepfake detection, which contains a large number of forgery faces generated by advanced generators such as the diffusion-based model and more detailed labels about the manipulation approaches and adopted generators. In addition to evaluating SOTA approaches on our benchmark, we design an innovative Cross Appearance-Edge Learning (CAEL) detector to capture multi-grained appearance and edge global representations, and detect discriminative and general forgery traces. Moreover, we devise an Appearance-Edge Cross-Attention (AECA) module to explore the various integrations across two domains. Extensive experiment results and visualizations show that our detection model outperforms the state of the arts on different settings like cross-generator, cross-forgery, and cross-dataset evaluations. Dynamic slimmable denoising network

Recently, tremendous human-designed and automatically searched neural networks have been applied to image denoising. However, previous works intend to handle all noisy images in a pre-defined static network architecture, which inevitably leads to high computational complexity for good denoising quality. Here, we present dynamic slimmable denoising network (DDS-Net), a general method to achieve good denoising quality with less computational complexity, via dynamically adjusting the channel configurations of networks at test time with respect to different noisy images. Our DDS-Net is empowered with the ability of dynamic inference by a dynamic gate, which can predictively adjust the channel configuration of networks with negligible extra computation cost. To ensure the performance of each candidate sub-network and the fairness of the dynamic gate, we propose a three-stage optimization scheme. In the first stage, we train a weight-shared slimmable super network. In the second stage, we evaluate the trained slimmable super network in an iterative way and progressively tailor the channel numbers of each layer with minimal denoising quality drop. By a single pass, we can obtain several sub-networks with good performance under different channel configurations. In the last stage, we identify easy and hard samples in an online way and train a dynamic gate to predictively select the corresponding sub-network with respect to different noisy images. Extensive experiments demonstrate our DDS-Net consistently outperforms the state-of-the-art individually trained static denoising networks. © 2021, CC BY.

The electrocardiogram diagnosis played an important role in early arrhythmia prevention and cardiovascular disease detection. How to analysis and detect the electrocardiogram automatically becomes a challenging task in clinical practice. Convolutional neural network based approaches have been widely applied in the field of automatic arrhythmia detection and analysis. However, the existing methods fails to preserve the abundant and essential latent representatives from multiple dimensions. To address these problems, a dual spatial-channel aggregation module is proposed, which expects to concentrate on the prominent target information along spatial and channel dimension of electrocardiogram signals. Moreover, a multi-scale enhancement module with channel-wise gating mechanism is also proposed to enlarge the receptive resolution and further to improve the learning ability of long-range dependencies from the global information. Furthermore, these two proposed modules are integrated as a "plug-and-play" block that can be easily adopted as a drop-in replacement for any 3×3 convolution layers in convolutional neural networ based architectures. In order to evaluate the effectiveness and generalization of the proposed block, it is plugged in a series of convolutional neural network based frameworks and are evaluated on two benchmark datasets, MIT-BIH and PTB. The extensive experimental results show that the proposed "plug-and-play" block can significantly improve the arrhythmia classification performance. Moreover, compared to other state-of-the-art methods, the framework plugged with the proposed block can achieve a competitive classification performance, proving the feasibility and advancement of the proposed dual attention-based multiscale feature learning block. © 2023, The Authors. Recently, federated learning (FL) has emerged as a promising distributed machine learning (ML) technology, owing to the advancing computational and sensing capacities of end-user devices, as well as the increasing concerns on users' privacy. As a special architecture in FL, vertical FL (VFL) is capable of constructing a hyper ML model by embracing sub-models from different types of clients. These sub-models are trained locally by vertically partitioned data with distinct attributes. Therefore, the design of VFL is fundamentally different from that of conventional FL, raising new and unique research issues. In this paper, we aim to discuss key challenges in VFL with effective solutions, and conduct experiments on real-life datasets to shed light on these issues. Specifically, we first propose a general framework on VFL, and highlight the key differences between VFL and conventional FL. Then, we discuss research challenges rooted in VFL systems from four aspects, i.e., security and privacy risks, expensive computation and communication costs, possible structural damage caused by model splitting, and system heterogeneity. Afterwards, we develop solutions to addressing the aforementioned challenges, and conduct extensive experiments to showcase the effectiveness of the proposed solutions. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. The task of object detection is to identify the bounding box of the object and its corresponding category in images. In this paper, we propose a new one-stage anchor free object detection algorithm OSAF_e, with the consideration of effective mapping area. A feature extraction network is used to obtain high level feature, and the true bounding box of the object in the original image is mapped to the grid of feature map, in order to perform category prediction and bounding box regression. The proposed algorithm is evaluated with the Pascal Voc dataset, and the experiments indicate that it has a better result. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Exposure problems often affect image quality more significantly than noise and blurring, seriously affecting their effectiveness in computer vision applications. To address this core problem, this paper proposes an innovative deep-learning method. The method uses pyramidal multi-scale decomposition to repair the image layer by layer, taking care of both overexposure and underexposure problems. On this basis, we improve the U-Net model by introducing the Strengthen-Operate-Subtract (SOS) feature enhancement module and a multi-scale aggregate back-projection module to achieve finer image restoration and improve the propagation of feature information. In addition, we introduce an atrous residual dense block at the highest scale to expand the receptive field of the network and efficiently capture local information to improve the quality of the exposure-corrected images. These innovations significantly optimize the effect of image exposure correction and improve the problems of loss of image details, oversaturation of regional contrast, and imbalance of color naturalness in existing techniques. Through extensive and in-depth analytical evaluations, we have validated the effectiveness of our model, which also demonstrates excellent performance compared with the most recent methods on the test database. © 2024, The Authors. Hyperspectral Image Classification (HSC) presents significant challenges owing to the high dimensionality and intricate nature of Hyperspectral (HS) data. While traditional Machine Learning (TML) approaches have demonstrated effectiveness, they often encounter substantial obstacles in real-world applications, including the variability of optimal feature sets, subjectivity in human-driven design, inherent biases, and methodological limitations. Specifically, TML suffers from the curse of dimensionality, difficulties in feature selection and extraction, insufficient consideration of spatial information, limited robustness against noise, scalability issues, and inadequate adaptability to complex data distributions. In recent years, Deep Learning (DL) techniques have emerged as robust solutions to address these challenges. This survey offers a comprehensive overview of current trends and future prospects in HSC, emphasizing advancements from DL models to the increasing adoption of Transformer and Mamba Model architectures. We systematically review key concepts, methodologies, and state-of-the-art approaches in DL for HSC. Furthermore, we investigate the potential of Transformer-based models and the Mamba Model in HSC, detailing their advantages and challenges. Emerging trends in HSC are explored, including in-depth discussions on Explainable AI and Interoperability concepts, alongside Diffusion Models for image denoising, feature extraction, and image fusion. To substantiate the efficacy of various conventional DL models, Transformers, and the Mamba Model, comprehensive experimental results were conducted on three HS datasets, yielding notable accuracies: 99.94% on Pavia University, 99.41% on Indian Pines, and 99.97% on the University of Houston dataset. Additionally, we identify several open challenges and pertinent research questions in the field of HSC.
