In real-world scenarios, capturing scenes with excessive dynamic range often leads to the partial loss of highlight or dark area information due to irradiance variations and limitations in the capture capabilities of imaging devices caused by their size and material constraints. This phenomenon gives rise to anomalous exposure problems and triggers the loss of crucial initial details, thereby becoming a significant obstacle to achieving high image quality. Despite numerous researchers' integration of exposure compensation techniques into the imaging process, the anomalous exposure problem remains unsolved, hindering progress in image processing. Consequently, considerable research is valuable in implementing exposure calibration techniques on visual perception and multimedia devices. This dissertation proposes FARDBUNet, a novel end-to-end exposure calibration model designed to address the anomalous exposure problem. A key innovation of FARDBUNet is the incorporation of a fused attention mechanism, enabling the model to prioritize regions needing enhanced correction while accounting for the global exposure characteristics of the image. Additionally, to tackle the challenge of inadequate information availability in the localized areas due to exposure issues, we introduce an atrous residual dense block that efficiently captures local information by expanding the receptive field. Comprehensive tests validate the effectiveness of our suggested model, which performs on par with leading techniques on expansive exposure datasets.

Drone-assisted backhaul networks are a new solution to for 5G data service. Howerver, there are many challenges for these applications. In this paper, we propose a smart antenna-based multi-hop highly-energy-efficient Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) approach to drone-assisted backhaul networks for 5G. Firstly, we use the DSA technology to makes full use of the spectrum resources for these applications. Secondly, the smart antenna is introduced to reduce the interference and improves the stability of communications. The sleeping mechanism is exploited to reduce the power consumption and raise energy efficiency of networks. Finally, we propose an algorithm to effectively assign the channel in order to obtain optimal energy efficiency. Simulation results show that our approach is feasible and effective.

The field of pose estimation has a wide range of application prospects in various industries in the current era. With the continuous development of deep learning techniques, the effects in the field of human pose estimation are constantly being optimized. However, due to the influence of factors such as occlusion and human posture variability, it is easy to lead to inaccurate identification of keypoints and even keypoints' missing and matching errors, there is still a lot of optimization space for the effect of pose estimation. In this paper, we propose an improvement to generate heatmaps in the training process: increase the radius of the Gaussian kernel and adjust the smoothness of Gaussian distribution to get a larger receptive field, encourage the model to use more context information in prediction, and control other parameters unchanged on the premise of using heatmap regression. Improve keypoint detection performance by optimizing this item. In the experiment, for the COCO-Keypoint data set, we selected different methods published in recent years, and after our improvement, we obtained better accuracy and performance than the original method, which proves the validity of our method.

CNNs with strong learning abilities are widely chosen to resolve super-resolution problem. However, CNNs depend on deeper network architectures to improve performance of image super-resolution, which may increase computational cost in general. In this paper, we present an enhanced super-resolution group CNN (ESRGCNN) with a shallow architecture by fully fusing deep and wide channel features to extract more accurate low-frequency information in terms of correlations of different channels in single image super-resolution (SISR). Also, a signal enhancement operation in the ESRGCNN is useful to inherit more long-distance contextual information for resolving long-term dependency. An adaptive up-sampling operation is gathered into a CNN to obtain an image super-resolution model with low-resolution images of different sizes. Extensive experiments report that our ESRGCNN surpasses the state-of-the-arts in terms of SISR performance, complexity, execution speed, image quality evaluation and visual effect in SISR. Behaviors of vacancies during the amorphous-to-crystalline transition of thin HfO 2 layers were studied by monoenergetic positron beams. The HfO 2 layers with 4‒30 nm thickness were fabricated on TiN/Si templates by atomic layer deposition technique. The major vacancy-type defects in the layers were identified as (i) Hf vacancies (V Hf ) coupled with oxygen vacancies (V O s) and (ii) vacancy clusters. After annealing at 500°C, the concentration of vacancy clusters increased, which was attributed to the agglomeration of intrinsic open spaces in the amorphous phase upon the phase transition from amorphous to crystalline phases. The phase transition started near the interface between the HfO 2 layer and bottom electrodes (TiN). After the crystallization, the concentration of vacancy clusters decreased as the annealing temperature increased.

Semantic segmentation of remote sensing images (RSIs) is a challenging task due to the complexity of spatial structures, diverse object scales, and heterogeneous land-cover patterns. Traditional approaches often struggle to effectively balance fine-grained boundary details and global contextual understanding, especially for high-resolution images. In this paper, we propose DDFNet, a novel dual-domain decoupled fusion network, to address these challenges. DDFNet integrates spatial and frequency domain features through a dynamic decoupling and fusion strategy. Specifically, we introduce a Dual-Domain Decoupled Feature Fusion (DDFF) module that selectively combines high- and low-frequency components from both domains, enabling the model to capture local textures and global semantics. To further enhance segmentation accuracy, we design a High-Order Geometric Prior Generation (HGPG) module, which utilizes gradient and curvature information to improve boundary precision and maintain geometric consistency. Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets — ISPRS Vaihingen, ISPRS Potsdam, and LoveDA — demonstrate that DDFNet achieves state-of-the-art performance. Ablation studies validate the contributions of the DDFF and HGPG modules, and efficiency analysis shows DDFNet's strong adaptability to different computational constraints. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

OLinear: A Linear Model for Time Series Forecasting in Orthogonally Transformed Domain

This paper presents OLinear, a linear-based multivariate time series forecasting model that operates in an orthogonally transformed domain. Recent forecasting models typically adopt the temporal forecast (TF) paradigm, which directly encode and decode time series in the time domain. However, the entangled stepwise dependencies in series data can hinder the performance of TF. To address this, some forecasters conduct encoding and decoding in the transformed domain using fixed, dataset-independent bases (e.g., sine and cosine signals in the Fourier transform). In contrast, we utilize OrthoTrans, a data-adaptive transformation based on an orthogonal matrix that diagonalizes the series’ temporal Pearson correlation matrix. This approach enables more effective encoding and decoding in the decorrelated feature domain and can serve as a plug-in module to enhance existing forecasters. To enhance the representation learning for multivariate time series, we introduce a customized linear layer, NormLin, which employs a normalized weight matrix to capture multivariate dependencies. Empirically, the NormLin module shows a surprising performance advantage over multi-head self-attention, while requiring nearly half the FLOPs. Extensive experiments on 24 benchmarks and 140 forecasting tasks demonstrate that OLinear consistently achieves state-of-the-art performance with high efficiency. Notably, as a plug-in replacement for self-attention, the NormLin module consistently enhances Transformer-based forecasters. In this paper, we focus on measuring the similarity of sentence pair. Noting that a single sentence vector may lose fine-grained semantic information which is important for sentence matching, we propose an embedding matrix to calculate a multi-granularity similarity matrix and find the true semantic alignment of two sentences. We also propose a semantic importance calculation and semantic decomposition that are simple but effective. The proposed model does not require any sparse features or external resources such as WordNet. Compared with other state-of-the-art models, we successfully train in a short time and achieve competitive results on similarity measurement and paraphrase identification tasks. Experiments and visual analysis show the good performance and interpretability of the model.

While self-supervised learning techniques are often used to mine hidden knowledge from unlabeled data via modeling multiple views, it is unclear how to perform effective representation learning in a complex and inconsistent context. To this end, we propose a new multi-view self-supervised learning method, namely consistency and complementarity network (CoCoNet), to comprehensively learn global inter-view consistent and local cross-view complementarity-preserving representations from multiple views. To capture crucial common knowledge which is implicitly shared among views, CoCoNet employs a global consistency module that aligns the probabilistic distribution of views by utilizing an efficient discrepancy metric based on the generalized sliced Wasserstein distance. To incorporate cross-view complementary information, CoCoNet proposes a heuristic complementarity-aware contrastive learning approach, which extracts a complementarity-factor jointing cross-view discriminative knowledge and uses it as the contrast to guide the learning of view-specific encoders. Theoretically, the superiority of CoCoNet is verified by our information-theoretical-based analyses. Empirically, our thorough experimental results show that CoCoNet outperforms the state-of-the-art self-supervised methods by a significant margin, for instance, CoCoNet beats the best benchmark method by an average margin of 1.1% on ImageNet. Text cover steganography is concerned with using text support for hiding information. Despite its long and old history, the art of cover writing is still attracting the attention of researchers in the domain of information hiding. Unfortunately, only a few related works exist in terms of text-covered writing. We present a visual attack on the previous related work. Then, we use invisible characters to hide secret data within the text support. We further use a combination and variation of the three primary colors intensities to vehiculate the message when painting non-printing characters. The proposed algorithm makes use of the low-value color spaces to decrease the color variations of the embedded secret message. It also further strengthens the hiddenness of the non-printing characters even when replaced by visible characters. © 2019 IEEE.
