The prediction of typhoon trajectory is essential to protect people and property. However, traditional methods of typhoon track prediction are difficult to guarantee the prediction efficiency and accuracy when dealing with a large amount of complex data. With the improvement of computer computing power and the development of deep learning technology, deep neural networks are gradually applied to the field of meteorology. In this paper, we describe a typhoon trajectory prediction model named TyT (Typhoon technology with Transformer), which effectively uses large-scale multimodal historical data and advanced deep learning techniques to achieve typhoon trajectory forecasting. With the above design, Our TyT can make full use of the implicit correlation of multimodal data to realize the advantages that unimodal data-based methods do not have. Meanwhile, the structure of Transformer enables to establish long-range dependencies by attention mechanism and position encoding. Experiments on historical typhoon track data in the northwest Pacific Ocean show that our TyT has a significant improvement in accuracy compared to previous typhoon track prediction methods. Finally, four different typhoons are randomly selected to plot their tracks to visually demonstrate the prediction performance of our TyT. © 2023 IEEE.

Large Language Models (LLMs) demonstrate robust capabilities across various fields, leading to a paradigm shift in LLM-enhanced Recommender System (RS). Research to date focuses on point-wise and pair-wise recommendation paradigms, which are inefficient for LLM-based recommenders due to high computational costs. However, existing list-wise approaches also fall short in ranking tasks due to misalignment between ranking objectives and next-token prediction. Moreover, these LLM-based methods struggle to effectively address the order relation among candidates, particularly given the scale of ratings. To address these challenges, this paper introduces the large language model framework with Aligned Listwise Ranking Objectives (ALRO). ALRO is designed to bridge the gap between the capabilities of LLMs and the nuanced requirements of ranking tasks. Specifically, ALRO employs explicit feedback in a listwise manner by introducing soft lambda loss, a customized adaptation of lambda loss designed for optimizing order relations. This mechanism provides more accurate optimization goals, enhancing the ranking process. Additionally, ALRO incorporates a permutation-sensitive learning mechanism that addresses position bias, a prevalent issue in generative models, without imposing additional computational burdens during inference. Our evaluative studies reveal that ALRO outperforms both existing embedding-based recommendation methods and LLM-based recommendation baselines. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

In hierarchical classification learning, the feature space of data has high dimensionality, and the feature space is unknown with emerging features. To solve the above problems, we proposes an online streaming feature selection algorithm for hierarchical classification based on the adaptive ReliefF. Firstly, the ReliefF is adaptively improved by using the density information of instances around the sample, making it unnecessary to pre-specify parameters. Secondly, the hierarchical relationship between classes is integrated into the algorithm, and a new method for calculating the feature weight of hierarchical data is defined. Then, a feature online importance analysis method is designed based on feature weight. Finally, the adaptive ReliefF algorithm is improved based on feature redundancy, and the feature weight is scaled by the correlation between the features to achieve dynamic feature redundancy update. A large number of experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

Target-speaker voice activity detection is currently a promising approach for speaker diarization in complex acoustic environments. This paper presents a novel Sequence-to-Sequence Target-Speaker Voice Activity Detection (Seq2Seq-TSVAD) method that can efficiently address the joint modeling of large-scale speakers and predict high-resolution voice activities. Experimental results show that larger speaker capacity and higher output resolution can significantly reduce the diarization error rate (DER), which achieves the new state-of-the-art performance of 4.55% on the VoxConverse test set and 10.77% on Track 1 of the DIHARD-III evaluation set under the widely-used evaluation metrics. © 2023 IEEE.

Copy number variation(CNV)refers to the number of copies of a specific sequence in a genome and is a type of chromatin structural *** development of the Hi-C technique has empowered research on the spatial structure of chromatins by capturing interactions between DNA *** utilized machine-learning methods including the linear transformation model and graph convolutional network(GCN)to detect CNV events from Hi-C data and reveal how CNV is related to three-dimensional interactions between genomic fragments in terms of the one-dimensional read count signal and features of the chromatin *** experimental results demonstrated a specific linear relation between the Hi-C read count and CNV for each chromosome that can be well qualified by the linear transformation *** addition,the GCN-based model could accurately extract features of the spatial structure from Hi-C data and infer the corresponding CNV across different chromosomes in a cancer cell *** performed a series of experiments including dimension reduction,transfer learning,and Hi-C data perturbation to comprehensively evaluate the utility and robustness of the GCN-based *** work can provide a benchmark for using machine learning to infer CNV from Hi-C data and serves as a necessary foundation for deeper understanding of the relationship between Hi-C data and CNV.

Indonesia has entered a period of demographic bonus. Human resources must be optimized. The number of children who do not in employment, education or training (NEET) in each province needs attention. Several factors that could contribute to the decline in the NEET percentage are literacy rates and the number of adolescents with computer skills. Increasing these two factors is believed to be able to reduce the percentage of NEET in every province in Indonesia. To find out the relationship between these two factors and how much influence they have on the percentage of NEET, this research is modeled by Cauchy regression and includes spatial effects. The results of the analysis show that the best model is when the spatial effect is modeled by Fernandez Steel Skew Normal conditionally autoregressive (FSSN CAR). This result is seen from the smallest value of the Watanabe Akaike Information Criterion (WAIC) in this model, which is 190.5. The parameter estimated shows that the higher the literacy rate and the number of adolescents with computer skills, the lower the percentage of NEET in each province in Indonesia. The results of this research can be useful for the Indonesian government to increase the number of educational facilities related to these two factors. © (2024), (International Association of Engineers). A Low-Rank Matching Attention Based Cross-Modal Feature Fusion Method for Conversational Emotion Recognition

Conversational emotion recognition (CER) is an important research topic in human-computer interactions. Although recent advancements in transformer-based cross-modal fusion methods have shown promise in CER tasks, they tend to overlook the crucial intra-modal and inter-modal emotional interaction or suffer from high computational complexity. To address this, we introduce a novel and lightweight cross-modal feature fusion method called Low-Rank Matching Attention Method (LMAM). LMAM effectively captures contextual emotional semantic information in conversations while mitigating the quadratic complexity issue caused by the self-attention mechanism. Specifically, by setting a matching weight and calculating inter-modal features attention scores row by row, LMAM requires only one-third of the parameters of self-attention methods. We also employ the low-rank decomposition method on the weights to further reduce the number of parameters in LMAM. As a result, LMAM offers a lightweight model while avoiding overfitting problems caused by a large number of parameters. Moreover, LMAM is able to fully exploit the intra-modal emotional contextual information within each modality and integrates complementary emotional semantic information across modalities by computing and fusing similarities of intra-modal and inter-modal features simultaneously. Experimental results verify the superiority of LMAM compared with other popular cross-modal fusion methods on the premise of being more lightweight. Also, LMAM can be embedded into any existing state-of-the-art CER methods in a plug-and-play manner, and can be applied to other multi-modal recognition tasks, e.g., session recommendation and humour detection, demonstrating its remarkable generalization ability. © 2024 IEEE.

In educational institutions, an educator is responsible for assessing the student's knowledge grasp through examination. Creating exam questions, even the low-level factoid questions, is time-consuming, especially for inexperienced educators. Therefore, this study aims to create a sequence-to-sequence model using CopyNet by exploiting its copying mechanism advantage to automatically generate Bahasa Indonesia factoid questions to ease the educator's burden. Indonesian records in the TyDi QA dataset are used as the model input. GRU and Bi-GRU are employed as the CopyNet encoder, while LSTM is used as the CopyNet decoder. The model that utilizes GRU as the encoder achieves BLEU1, BLEU2, BLEU3, BLEU4, and ROUGE-L scores of 0.28, 0.19, 0.14, 0.1, and 0.32, respectively. Bi-GRU utilization as the model encoder achieves BLEU1, BLEU2, BLEU3, BLEU4, and ROUGE-L scores of 0.26, 0.17, 0.12, 0.09, and 0.30, respectively. Models using either encoder still achieve low scores. However, compared with the previous work, the result is still on par regarding the BLEU score. Further examination found that the generated questions do not adhere to semantic and syntactical correctness. Adding more records to the dataset and utilizing a more advanced architecture like CopyBERT are encouraged to improve the model performance in future work. Despite the result, this study has shown that CopyNet, primarily designed for text summarization or single-turn dialogue, can be tailored for factoid question generation. © 2024 The Authors.

The human brain has a simple time analyzing and processing images. The brain is able to rapidly deconstruct and distinguish an image's various components when the eye perceives it. With the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) as its foundation, this research suggests deep learning conceptual models. When the algorithms are compared, it becomes clear that CNN-based classification of handwritten alphabets performs better than other algorithms in terms of accuracy. The Manual Net, Alex Net, and LeNet Architectures are among the CNN algorithms employed in this research. The convulational layer, max pooling, flattening, feature assortment, rectifier lined unit, and completely linked softmaxx layers are each components of the aforementioned designs. The proposed network is tested using an image dataset comprising 530 training photos and 2756 testing images. The top precision and cost-efficient model will be used in the Django context to build a handler line for supplying the appeal to be recognized and obtaining the productivity outcome of recognized appeal. © 2024 IEEE.
