In this paper, we propose a constructive interference precoding (CIP) enabled secure intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme, lever-aging both the inter-user interference and artificial noise to boost the legitimate transmission of far user, while inducing the eavesdropper to decode the deceptive information. Based on this CIP-NOMA scheme, we minimize the transmit power under the perfect channel state information (CSI), subject to the CIP constraint for the far user and eavesdropper, while guaranteeing the quality of service and successive interference cancellation for the near user and the IRS unit modulus constraint. To handle this non-convex problem, an alternating optimization algorithm is proposed. Specifically, by alternately optimizing the precoding vectors at the base station and the IRS reflecting matrix via the successive convex approximation and the penalty-based algorithm, respectively, a reliable solution can be obtained. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve better security performance with less energy consumption compared to the conventional NOMA. © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid evolution of communication networks to 5G/6G has introduced significant challenges, particularly in ensuring data security, low latency, high throughput, efficient energy consumption, dynamic access to multiple connection types, and managing the influx of connected devices. Quantum communication, leveraging entangled states like the perfect W-state, offers a promising solution with its high degree of entanglement, secure information transmission, and resilience against decoherence. However, practical applications and experimental validations remain limited, especially regarding the integration with Local Operations and Classical Communication (LOCC) protocols. Additionally, optimizing perfect W-state-based communication protocols for the splitting and sharing of quantum information has been scarcely explored. This article presents a Quantum Information Sharing and Splitting (QISS) protocol that integrates perfect W-states with LOCC to enhance 5G and 6G communication. Using the Eagle r3 processor based on superconducting qubits, our experiments demonstrated a fidelity of 0.82 ± 0.02 for the perfect W-state circuit and 0.55 ± 0.03 for the integrated W-state + LOCC in the QISS communication prototype. These findings, quantified through Quantum State Tomography, significantly improve communication security, network densification, and effectiveness. Furthermore, our research addresses existing gaps in quantum communication implementation, paving the way for scalable quantum networks and advanced encryption methods. This work marks a substantial step towards secure and efficient data transmission in next-generation communication systems. © 2025 IEEE.

Owing to the increase in 'certified' phishing websites, there is a steady increase in the number of phishing cases and general susceptibility to phishing. Trust mechanisms (e.g., HTTPS Lock Indicators, SSL Certificates) that help differentiate genuine and phishing websites should therefore be evaluated for their effectiveness in preventing vulnerable users from accessing phishing websites. In this article, we present a study involving 18 adults (male-6;female-12) and 12 older adults (male-4;female-8) to understand the usability of current trust mechanisms and preferred modalities in a conceptualized mechanism. In the first part of the study, using Chrome browser on Android, we asked the participants to browse a banking website and a government website for digital particulars. We asked them to identify which one of the two was a phishing website, rate the usability of both websites and provide qualitative feedback on the trust mechanisms. In the second part, we conceptualized an alternative trust mechanism, which allows seeking social, community and AI-based support to make website trust-related decisions. Herein, we asked the participants as to which modality (social, community or AI) they prefer to seek support from and why it is preferred. Using the current trust mechanisms, none of the participants were able to identify the phishing website. As the participants rated the current mechanisms poorly in terms of usability, they expressed various difficulties that largely did not differ between adults and older adults. In the conceptualized mechanism, we observed a notable difference in the preferred modalities, in that, older adults primarily preferred social support. In addition to these overall findings, specific observations suggest that future trust mechanisms should not only consider age-specific needs but also incorporate substantial improvement in terms of usability. © 2024, CC BY.

In this study,a commercial magnesium alloy AZ31(Mg-3Al-1Zn-0.3Mn)sheet through a short manufacturing process was found to be ductile and highly formable in *** possessing a strong basal texture,the short-processed sheet without any annealing can be bent at a small radius,only 0.2 times its thickness in the 90°bending ***,it could withstand direct deformation by repeated *** in-situ microstructural characterization reveals that extension twin bands with strain localization appear in the bending *** subsequent flattening,these twin bands underwent detwinning,reducing local strain concentrations and enabling further bending *** outstanding bend formability originated from the significant-type dislocation loops slipping on the prismatic crystal planes within dynamic-recrystallized *** grains underwent a uniform refinement to several microns in the short manufacturing process and exhibited low residual *** active prismatic dislocation slip within refined grains was due to its much lower relative activation stress to basal slip(CRSSprism/CRSSbasal of only∼1.6)owing to the effective grain boundary ***,the prismatic dislocation activity was further enhanced when bypassing Al-Mn nano-particles during motion,leaving debris and loops that facilitated easy multiplication.

school-to-home streets are an important part of the public space network of child-friendly cities. The improvement of their child-friendliness needs to be based on the investigation and evaluation of the current usage status. The traditional site investigation methods are limited by manpower and time, lack of efficiency and effectiveness. This paper proposes a new analysis framework for children’s street behaviors based on AI recognition methods, including action recognition algorithm, human flow statistic algorithm, and target tracking algorithm. It takes one school-to-home street in the Mingdong community, Ningbo city as a case study. Based on the AI recognition of this street’s surveillance videos, the result data verifies the effectiveness of street usage analysis. The field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been witnessing a huge demand in the field of research, tools development, and applications of deployment. Computer-aided skin lesion segmentation with high precision is crucial to diagnose skin cancers in the early stage. However, the lack of pixel-level labels makes the skin lesion segmentation tasks challenging. To tackle this problem, a new weakly-supervised skin lesion segmentation network with self-attentions named SLSNet is proposed. SLSNet contains two modules and uses image-level labels as supervision information. One module named Intra-image Self-attention Seed Expansion (ISE) digs intra-image self-attentions with an expansion loss and a confidence loss to expand seed areas. The other module named Inter-image Affinity-based Noise Suppression (IAS) suppresses the noise pixels in attention maps via inter-image correlations. Extensive experiments conducted on ISIC-2017 dataset show that SLSNet achieves relatively high performance while reducing human labeling efforts. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

The agricultural business has seen a rise in the use of mobile robots because of their ease of navigation in crop fields. Numerous significant issues pertaining to agricultural robot navigation are covered in this paper, such as obstacle detection, route planning, mapping, localization, and controlled guiding. The proposed hybrid recurrent neural network (RNN) model seeks to optimise mobile autonomous robot tracking performance using installed laser-based weeding equipment. The system can handle a range of trajectories, including curves and straight lines, that are observed in agricultural settings by integrating spiral, lateral, and linear speed controls. A comprehensive field test is carried out on a tracked mobile platform to validate the controllers' functionality in a variety of scenarios, including loose dirt, stones, and humidity. © 2024 IEEE.

The exponential expansion of computer networks and the internet makes it clear that there is a chance of being attacked and harmed. In the meantime, one of the most crucial defensive measures against the more complex and frequent network attacks is the intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDSs and IPSs). Due to insufficient datasets, anomaly-based research in intrusion detection systems is plagued by imprecise deployment, analysis, and evaluation. The researchers analyzed a variety of datasets, including DARPA98, KDD99, ISC2012, and ADFA13, to assess how well their suggested intrusion detection and intrusion prevention techniques performed. There are several issues: lack of adequate attack coverage, unrepresentative payloads, and anonymised packet information, insufficient traffic volume and diversity, or a deficiency in feature set and metadata. This study is focused on CICIDS-2017 which is the recently updated IDS dataset that meets real-world requirements and is accessible publicly. In addition to benign network flows and distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, it contains seven common attack network flows as well. To provide the optimal combination of features for the identification of the attack category, it also assesses the efficacy of several machine learning (ML) algorithms and network traffic feature sets. Even though various ML techniques like Linear Regression, Random Forests, and Decision Tree can be used, and performed very well, Hybrid Algorithm is designed to get better analysis on dataset. © 2025 IEEE.

With an increase in eye-tracking applications, there is a need for eye gaze data analytics to widen its scope to provide customized solutions. However, among several types of analytics such as predictive, descriptive, diagnostic, and prescriptive analytics providing insight into it is quite challenging. This work presents the need and role of prescriptive data analysis that can be carried out on eye gaze data pertaining to a specific study of research on the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease patients during visual search and visual attention tasks. We further look at the various aspects like the image stimulus used, a task performed by the viewer, and its relation to the viewer’s eye movement behavior. iSTIMULI includes the design of the image stimuli used to classify the eye movements of Parkinson’s disease patients from healthy controls. Visualizations of eye movements on the image stimulus designed are presented. A machine learning analysis is also provided that substantiates the significance of the stimuli with the highest f-measure of 73%. iSTIMULI establishes a relation between image stimulus and viewer behavior. As a prescriptive analysis model, iSTIMULI calculates the risk based on eye movements and recommends actions to be taken in the future to improve the ability of the participant. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
