Class imbalance in the medical image dataset is almost inherent due to the limited availability of clinical data for certain diseases and patient populations. Under-represented classes in the training set affect the classification task because the classifier tends to learn more from the majority classes, which are more common in the dataset and ignore data from the minority classes. To mitigate this issue, we propose a method to learn using two different convolutional neural network-based experts; such experts try to learn boundaries within the head classes, between the head and tail classes, and within the tail classes. During expert training, we integrate the MixUp regularization method to augment imbalanced data, employing distinct data sampling strategies for more effective mixing compared to random selection in traditional MixUp. During the inference phase, we combine the logits of the different experts based on their expertise in the corresponding classes. This way, we can improve the accuracy of the head and tail classes. Experiments using highly imbalanced and long-tailed datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the suggested framework.

Quant investing is very popular nowadays. To predict returns, there are lots of algorithm and models for financial market trading. In this case, with some new methods, quantitative researchers' ability to forecast an investment's return. In this paper, a new dataset obtained from a Kaggle competition called Ubiquant Market Prediction will be introduced and some classical method and model will be tested on it. This dataset has following characteristics. Firstly, its' target is return rate instead of the return, which means it could adapt to different scales of investment. Secondly, 300 dimensional anonymous features extracted are used in prediction so that this method could be applied in the prediction of different kinds of investments which have different kinds of features. Thirdly, this dataset considers the types and time periods of investment behavior. For the reasons above, the dataset is quite valuable. The classical methods tested in the experiment include Support Vector Regression (SVR), ensemble learning, k-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Deep Neural Network (DNN), random forest, Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) regressor, passive aggressive regressor and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) regressor. These methods are tested on this dataset and their performance are compared in the result and discussion section, aiming to figure out whether these classical approaches could have a good result in the dataset. © 2023 SPIE.

The purpose of this study is to find out what makes Generation Z students accept and use Canva as a tool for making presentation materials. The conceptual framework of this study is the combination of "Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)"and the "Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2)". "Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)"used for data analyzation. This research aims to understand the dynamics of Canva acceptance among students. The findings show that enjoyment, fun, and pleasure in using Canva, combined with its creative tools and design-centric approach, significantly resonate with Gen Z's preference for aesthetics. This research highlights that Canva is favored by students for creating engaging presentations. © 2024 IEEE.

This industry-oriented paper proposes a novel sophisticated frequency control system for the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) power system considering the special design of its current automatic generation control system, which does not involve interconnectors between different power regions, resulting in technical challenges for both stability and security of the system. The proposed new method converts the NEM centralised frequency control system to a fully decentralised one with virtually consideration of interconnectors’ power, thus the stability and security would be improved and the high fluctuations in interchanged power smoothed without extra costs of infrastructure and procurement of frequency control ancillary reserves (FCASs). The novel idea is to model the interconnectors’ power deviation as unknown input to operator in each power regions, like load disturbances and renewable power variations, using dynamic observation techniques, for enabling the proposed method capabilities. The method is theoretically verified that it can enhance stability and security and stabilise both local frequencies and power exchanges. The experiment results confirm the capability of the proposed method for the NEM system and its superiority over the existing adopted approaches in industries. © 2023, CC BY.

In recent years,the study of explosive synchronization(ES) has been extended to multilayer networks by using different *** this paper,the synchronous transition of multilayer networks with inter-layer competition and inter-layer cooperation is studied,and it is found that ES occurs in both two layers when the proportion of interlayer cooperation is large *** addition,we study ES separately in terms of oscillator dynamics and network *** experiments show that ES occurs independently of the natural frequency ***,as the average degrees of networks increase,the critical coupling strength ***,the robustness of the results is confirmed by changing the network topology of each layer.

Utilising technology such as artificial intelligence and robotics potentially improves E-Commerce in efficiency. In this trends, the usage of autonomous forklifts in the warehouse to lift and arrange things should be implemented. The picking system in the warehouse needs pallet detection and tracking to carry out the things. This research will find the best performance of the YOLOv5 model and correct the distance estimation model to the fiducial marker. In this paper, we used the ArUco fiducial marker to mark the pallet target and estimate the pose and distance in real time. The insertion points of the pallet were also detected using the YOLOv5 algorithm to validate the pallet and get the coordinate variables of the holes. The YOLOv5n gives the best performance at 24 fps in real-time detection. Distance measurement from the marker detection had an average error of 2.28 cm with linear regression.

Against the backdrop of the "dual carbon" goal and the green of energy transformation, the volatility and randomness issues of the new power system dominated by wind and solar power are becoming increasingly prominent, affecting the safe and stable operation of the power system. Therefore, the role of auxiliary services in promoting the use of alternative energy sources and ensuring power quality is becoming increasingly. In this context, this article summarizes and organizes the current development and operations status of the auxiliary services market, carbon market, green certificate market, and green electricity market in mature foreign markets, as well as the experience that can be used for reference. It also sorts out the relationship between the interaction and influence of the auxiliary services market and various other markets. Finally, based on the practical needs for market development to facilitate China’s green energy transformation, development recommendations are provided for the design of the auxiliary services market and various market coupling mechanisms, to fully leverage the synergistic effect of the auxiliary services market with the carbon market, green certificate market, and green electricity market, support China's green energy transformation. © 2024, State Grid Electric Power.
