This paper presents a novel fixed-time dynamic surface control (DSC) scheme for permanent magnet linear synchronous motors subject to external disturbances. Without employing the fractional power terms or complicated switching strategy to build the control laws, a smooth fixed-time dynamic surface control scheme is proposed, which overcomes the potential singularity problem and explosion of the complexity issue in the fixed-time back-stepping design. To weaken the influence of external disturbances, a modified fixed-time convergence disturbance observer (FTDO) is explored to compensate the normal fixed-time DSC laws, thus largely improving the robustness of the proposed control scheme. The highlights of the proposed design are threefold. First, it is free of the fractional powers terms yet fixed-time convergence property. Second, it increases the robustness of the normal control design by constructing new FTDO. Third, it avoids the explosion of the complexity problem by virtue of modified fixed-time filters. The stability of the proposed control scheme is analyzed using the Lyapunov technique. Simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller. © 2021 IEEE

In order to reduce the end effect of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) on thrust ripple, a hybrid algorithm based on topology optimization is proposed to optimize the end teeth of PMLSM. Compared with the traditional geometry parameter optimization scheme, the hybrid optimization algorithm based on Tabu search and ON/OFF method is more stochastic and global. In optimization process, the detent force of the motor is analyzed by finite element method. Through post-processing of the optimized end teeth shape, a new feasible topology structure is obtained. The results show that the thrust ripple of motor is reduced by 13% after topology optimization, which proves the effectiveness of the method. © 2021 IEEE

To improve the rapidity and accuracy of fault detection in multi-terminal flexible DC distribution networks with modular multilevel converters. A protection method based on the transient characteristic difference of fault current is proposed. First, the parameters of the complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN) are optimized using the Aquila Optimizer algorithm. So that, the feature extraction effect is optimal. Secondly, the distinction in the magnitude of internal and external fault currents is deduced through detailed fault characterization. Thus, the energy moment eigenvalue of the fault current is used to construct the internal and external fault criterion. Then, depending on the distinction between the faulty and sound pole currents during internal fault. The ratio of the singular value of the positive and negative pole currents is taken to create the differentiation criterion of faulty pole. This protection scheme can reliably and sensitively recognize various types of short-circuit faults by only using DC line single-end current signals. Finally, the validity and robustness of this method are confirmed by simulating and analyzing under different working conditions. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, a U-type permanent magnet salient pole linear motor (UT-PMSPLM) is proposed, the structure can improve the utilization rate of PMs. Analysis of air gap flux density by establishing equivalent magnetic circuit model. The finite element method is used to analyze the electromagnetic characteristics including magnetic field, air gap magnetic density, no-load back EMF, thrust force and so on. It is proved that UT-PMSPLM structure has high efficiency of magnetic field gathering,compare with the non-salient permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (NS-PMLSM) under the same amount of permanent magnet. © 2021 IEEE

This paper analyzes the consensus of heterogeneous multi-agent systems in the case of existing mixed-order dynamic equations. Mixed-order agents mainly include second-order agents, using unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) as an example, and high-order agents, using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as an example. Two types of consensus of the system are defined, including dynamic consensus and static consensus. We proposed corresponding consensus control protocols for the two definitions of consensus. For the heterogeneous multi-agent system, we analyze the stability of the system by combining the two proposed control protocols. Partial Point Cloud Registration With Deep Local Feature

How to accurately register partial point cloud still remains a challenging task, because of its irregular and unordered structure in a non-Euclidean space, noise, outliers, and other unfavorable factors. In this article, an effective partial point cloud registration network is proposed by devising a two-stage deep local feature extraction process and an outlier filtering strategy. To be specific, on the one hand, to effectively capture geometric interdependency in the low-level space, a local attention feature extraction module is explored to extract local contextual attention features by highlighting different attention weights on neighborhoods. On the other hand, in the local feature aggregation module, two position encoding blocks are applied to increase the receptive field of each point in the high-level space. Of these, an attentive pooling can automatically learn important local features to alleviate the possible information loss. Furthermore, to derive the weight of the putative correspondence, an outlier filtering module is designed by consisting of point context normalization block, differentiable pooling layer, and differentiable unpooling layer. Moreover, in order to enhance robustness, a weighting point cloud registration model is formulated to alleviate outliers by considering the contribution of each correspondence. Experiments on multiple datasets demonstrate that the proposed approach is competitive to several state-of-the-art algorithms. © 2020 IEEE.

Improving the vibratory roller’s ride comfort under off-road soil grounds by applying the seat’s negative-stiffness elements

This study proposes the cab’s hydraulic mount (HM) and seat’s negative-stiffness elements (NSE) to reduce the cab shaking and improve the ride comfort of the vibratory rollers. A vehicle dynamic model is built to assess the vehicle’s ride comfort under deformable soil grounds. The indexes of the root-mean-square (r.m.s) seat displacement (Zw1), r.m.s seat acceleration (aw1), and r.m.s cab pitching acceleration (awφ2) are selected to assess the ride comfort. The study results indicate that the seat’s ride comfort and cab’s pitch angle are greatly improved by using the NSE and HM under various working conditions. Especially, the Zw1, aw1, and awφ2 are remarkably reduced by 36.4%, 82.4%, and 50.9% in comparison without the NSE and HM when the vehicle is travelling on deformable soil grounds, respectively. Consequently, the application of the NSE on the seat’s suspension of vibratory rollers or other vehicles can further enhance the driver’s ride comfort and health. In this research, a cascaded adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) with nonsingular terminal sliding mode is developed for drawing out maximum power from 250 W photovoltaic array. Aiming to extract the maximum energy, a boost converter is utilized as voltage regulator between PV system and load. A cascaded voltage/current regulator based proportional integral(PI) and nonsingular terminal sliding mode control(NTSMC) forms the duty cylce of boost chopper. The proposed control algorithm is tested under normal condition as well as under sudden change of atmospheric variation. Furthermore, the results were compared with ANFIS-PI. The proposed controller has improved the robustness, steady state, and has suppressed the chattering problem. © 2022 IEEE.
