Decarbonization of the whole energy chain has been recognized as a measure to tackle the global challenge of climate change, and significant progress has already been made on the generation side to integrate renewable energy. However, the demand side is the single largest underlying factor in shaping decarbonization roadmap. Hence, the carbon emission cost should also be shared by the users according to their power consumption. In this paper, a joint electricity-carbon trading framework is designed to reduce the carbon emission through trading and demand response. A delayed carbon emission liability settlement for asynchronous markets is proposed to ameliorate the users' optimal decision from single-point optimization to interval-based optimization. To develop the optimal strategy of trading within the proposed mechanism, an improved proximal policy optimization (PPO) algorithm based on Monte Carlo reward sampling is applied. Simulation studies reveal that, compared with the market without carbon trading and users without delayed settlement, the proposed mechanism has achieved a carbon emission reduction by 40.7% and 12.7% respectively. Simulations also show the algorithm's training efficiency can be significantly improved with the proposed Monte Carlo sampling method. © 2023 IEEE.

The processes of sowing and fertiliser application represent a significant aspect of agricultural production. In order to achieve efficient and precise seeding and fertiliser application, mass flow detection of seed and fertiliser particles can facilitate real-time monitoring and precise decision-making for intelligent seeding and fertiliser application. However, the diversity of seed and fertiliser particle types and particle flow modes presents a challenge for existing detection methods, particularly in meeting the varying operational requirements, especially for particle mass flow detection in low-altitude and high-speed sowing operations of agricultural drones. In such cases, the overlap and flow rate will have a significant impact on the detection results due to the large displacement and the continuous high-throughput dense phase of the particle flow. This paper provides a summary of the existing seed and fertiliser particle mass flow detection techniques and their underlying working principles. It compares the direct detection based on mass with the indirect detection methods based on velocity and concentration, and analyses their respective advantages, disadvantages and applicability. It also explores the possibility of optimising the existing detection methods for the specific needs of agricultural UAVs and considers the potential introduction of cutting-edge science and technology in order to develop an efficient, accurate and convenient detection system to meet the growing market demand. © (2025), (INMA Bucharest). Dementia is a disorder with high societal impact and severe consequences for its patients who suffer from a progressive cognitive decline that leads to increased morbidity,mortality,and *** there is a consensus that dementia is a multifactorial disorder,which portrays changes in the brain of the affected individual as early as 15 years before its onset,prediction models that aim at its early detection and risk identification should consider these *** study aims at presenting a novel method for ten years prediction of dementia using on multifactorial data,which comprised 75 *** are two automated diagnostic systems developed that use genetic algorithms for feature selection,while artificial neural network and deep neural network are used for dementia *** proposed model based on genetic algorithm and deep neural network had achieved the best accuracy of 93.36%,sensitivity of 93.15%,specificity of 91.59%,MCC of 0.4788,and performed superior to other 11 machine learning techniques which were presented in the past for dementia *** identified best predictors were:age,past smoking habit,history of infarct,depression,hip fracture,single leg standing test with right leg,score in the physical component summary and history of TIA/*** identification of risk factors is imperative in the dementia research as an effort to prevent or delay its onset.

This study presents an autoencoder-embedded optimization(AEO)algorithm which involves a bi-population cooperative strategy for medium-scale expensive problems(MEPs).A huge search space can be compressed to an informative lowdimensional space by using an autoencoder as a dimension reduction *** search operation conducted in this low space facilitates the population with fast convergence towards the *** strike the balance between exploration and exploitation during optimization,two phases of a tailored teaching-learning-based optimization(TTLBO)are adopted to coevolve solutions in a distributed fashion,wherein one is assisted by an autoencoder and the other undergoes a regular evolutionary ***,a dynamic size adjustment scheme according to problem dimension and evolutionary progress is proposed to promote information exchange between these two phases and accelerate evolutionary convergence *** proposed algorithm is validated by testing benchmark functions with dimensions varying from 50 to *** indicated in our experiments,TTLBO is suitable for dealing with medium-scale problems and thus incorporated into the AEO framework as a base *** with the state-of-the-art algorithms for MEPs,AEO shows extraordinarily high efficiency for these challenging problems,t hus opening new directions for various evolutionary algorithms under AEO to tackle MEPs and greatly advancing the field of medium-scale computationally expensive optimization.

Active power dispatch of wind farms plays an important role in power grid scheduling. In this paper, a data-driven active power dispatch strategy for wind farms is proposed, which uses the key point of minimizing the standard deviation of wind turbines' output power series to reduce their fluctuations. First, to build the optimization problem, the historical active power output data of each wind turbine is collected from the Supervisory control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. Then, the objective function is developed based on the idea of minimizing the standard deviation of the output power time series. Meanwhile, considering the constraints of wind turbines' output power and active power balance of the grid, the feasible domain of the cost function is constructed. Further, to solve the proposed nonlinear optimization problem with equality and inequality constraints, the trust region interior point method (TRIPM) is employed to explore optimal solution within the feasible domain. Finally, actual data collected from wind farms is used to test effectiveness of the designed approach and experimental results show that our method can achieve better output power smoothing performance than conventional Proportional Dispatch (PD) method. © 2024 IEEE.

Resilient Cooperative control of Multiple DC Microgrids With Interconnection Networks Against Cyber Attacks

The two control objectives of voltage regulation and precise current sharing are conflicting in multi-bus DC microgrids. In this paper, a distributed control strategy is proposed, and it can achieve accurate current sharing and regulate the voltage of a critical node to the rated value. However, such a distributed control system is susceptible to potential cyber attacks that could deteriorate microgrids performances by corrupting communication links or actuators. To overcome these difficulties, we design the interconnected communication networks to establish a resilient cooperative system of multiple microgrids against unknown bounded injection attacks. The proposed resilient control strategy can achieve the control objectives of maintaining voltage regulation and current sharing within each microgrids under different operating conditions, and the interconnected system consisting of multiple microgrids cooperates to mitigate the adverse effect of cyber attacks. The dynamics and stability of the overall close-loop system of the DC microgrids are analyzed, in the present or absent of cyber attacks. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in two 4-bus DC microgrids. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid advancement of blockchain technology, its utilization has become widespread across various domains, resulting in the accumulation of significant volumes of valuable data. This trend has created an increasing demand for efficient querying of blockchain data. However, the inherent structure of blockchain leads to low querying efficiency and limited support for complex queries. Therefore, there is a trend toward migrating data to off-chain storage for querying purposes. The untrustworthy nature of the off-chain environment necessitates data validation. However, existing validation schemes incur high costs and fail to ensure the timely updating of the off-chain data. To address the challenges above, we propose ChainSafari, a general, efficient, and real-time synchronized scheme for verifiable querying on the blockchain. In our scheme, we design a general data model for storing transactions of various blockchains and develop an efficient authenticated data structure (ADS) based on this data model, enabling efficient verifiable queries for multiple data types in parallel. Furthermore, we propose a multi-party synchronization detection and recovery protocol to ensure the consistency of on-chain and off-chain data. Finally, we implement a prototype system of ChainSafari and conduct extensive experiments. This paper presents a control strategy based on a new notion of time-varying fixed-time convergent control barrier functions (TFCBFs) for a class of coupled multi-agent systems under signal temporal logic (STL) tasks. In this framework, each agent is assigned a local STL task regradless of the tasks of other agents. Each task may be dependent on the behavior of other agents which may cause conflicts on the satisfaction of all tasks. Our approach finds a robust solution to guarantee the fixed-time satisfaction of STL tasks in a least violating way and independent of the agents' initial condition in the presence of undesired violation effects of the neighbor agents. Particularly, the robust performance of the task satisfactions can be adjusted in a user-specified way. © 2021 EUCA.

Consortium blockchains, with their decentralized characteristics, have found widespread applications across various industries. However, this also forms isolated data islands. These data islands have become obstacles to data sharing between industries, and the issue of cross-chain data consistency verification remains unresolved. Current mainstream cross-chain technologies solve asset transfer issues through complex transaction steps, thus failing to meet the need for efficient data transmission. Existing research has proposed solutions for cross-chain data consistency verification, but two major issues remain. Firstly, these schemes do not consider data changes or support data dynamic operations. Secondly, these schemes involve a significant amount of complex computations, leading to slow efficiency. To address the above issues, we propose DataJudge, a cross-chain data consistency verification scheme based on an extended Merkle hash tree. This scheme not only verifies cross-chain data consistency but also effectively fills the gap in existing schemes regarding dynamic operations. Additionally, we modify the paillier homomorphic encryption. To improve efficiency, we do not introduce many complex computations. Furthermore, the extended Merkle hash tree structure enhances efficiency. Finally, we implement a prototype system and evaluate it. The results demonstrate that DataJudge can effectively verify cross-chain data consistency and outperform existing schemes such as DCIV and BeDCV. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Malware detection plays a crucial role in ensuring robust cybersecurity amidst the ever-evolving cyber threats. This research paper delves into the realm of machine learning (ML) algorithms for malware detection, with a specific emphasis on the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm, utilizing tailored parameter settings and the Firefly Optimization Algorithm (FOA). The study leverages the MalMem-2022 dataset to assess the efficacy of KNN and KNN with FOA in malware detection. The impact of parameter tuning and feature selection on classification is elucidated by comparing the performance of both approaches. Encouragingly, the results reveal promising advancements in one of the multiclass classification scenarios when employing KNN with FOA, yielding noteworthy enhancements in Accuracy, Recall, Precision, Matthews Correlation Coefficient, TNR, and F1-score by 2.65%, 2.65%, 2.47%, 3.59%, 0.17%, and 2.61%, respectively. These findings accentuate the significance of optimizing KNN’s parameters and implementing FOA for feature selection, culminating in heightened accuracy in malware detection. The symbiotic fusion of KNN and FOA exhibits remarkable effectiveness in augmenting the classification model’s performance, thus offering valuable insights for bolstering cybersecurity measures. Adopting ML algorithms, particularly KNN with specific parameter settings and FOA, presents a promising avenue for enhancing malware detection capabilities. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
