Asymptotic theory for the regularized system identification has received increasing interests in recent *** this paper,for the finite impulse response(FIR) model and filtered white noise inputs,we show the convergence in distribution of the Stein's unbiased risk estimator(SURE) based hyper-parameter estimator and find factors that influence its convergence *** particular,we consider the ridge regression case to obtain closed-form expressions of the limit of the regression matrix and the variance of the limiting distribution of the SURE based hyper-parameter estimator,and then demonstrate their relation numerically.

This paper presents a novel hybrid optimization method to solve the resource allocation problem for multi-target multi-sensor tracking of drones. This hybrid approach, the Improved Prairie Dog Optimization Algorithm (IPDOA) with the Genetic Algorithm (GA), utilizes the strengths of both algorithms to improve the overall optimization performance. The goal is to select a set of sensors based on norms of weighted distances cost function. The norms are the Euclidean distance and the Mahalanobis distance between the drone location and the sensors. The second one depends on the predicted covariance of the tracker. The Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is used for state estimation with proper clutter and detection models. Since we use Multi-objects to track, the Joint Probability Distribution Function (JPDA) estimates the best measurement values with a preset gating threshold. The goal is to find a sensor or minimum set of sensors that would be enough to generate high-quality tracking based on optimum resource allocation. In the experimentation simulated with Stone Soup, one radar among five radars is selected at every time step of 50-time steps for 200 tracks distributed over 20 different ground truths. The proposed IPDOA provided optimum solutions for this complex problem. The obtained solution is an optimum offline solution that is used to select one or more sensors for any future flights within the vicinity of the 5 radars. Environment and conditions are assumed to be similar in future drone flights within the radars’ defined zone. The IPDOA performance was compared with the other 8 metaheuristic optimization algorithms and the testing showed its superiority over those techniques for solving this complex problem. The proposed simulated model can find the most relevant sensor(s) capable of generating the best quality tracks based on weighted distance criteria (Euclidean and Mahalanobis). Sim-to-real transfer, which trains RL agents in the simulated environments and then deploys them in the real world, has been widely used to overcome the limitations of gathering samples in the real world. Despite the empirical success of the sim-to-real transfer, its theoretical foundation is much less understood. In this paper, we study the sim-to-real transfer in continuous domain with partial observations, where the simulated environments and real-world environments are modeled by linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) systems. We show that a popular robust adversarial training algorithm is capable of learning a policy from the simulated environment that is competitive to the optimal policy in the real-world environment. To achieve our results, we design a new algorithm for infinite-horizon average-cost LQGs and establish a regret bound that depends on the intrinsic complexity of the model class. Our algorithm crucially relies on a novel history clipping scheme, which might be of independent interest. © 2023 11th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2023. To enhance the detection efficiency in eddy current pulsed thermography, an adaptive feature extraction algorithm for defect identification is developed in this paper. The proposed algorithm involves four stages, namely, the thermal image segmentation, the variable interval search, the distance correlation clustering analysis and the between-class distance decision making. The transient thermal responses (TTRs) with similar characteristics are collected into one data block. The thermal image segmentation and variable interval search can help reduce the repetitive calculation in defect identification by choosing local optimums in each data block. The global optimum that has the largest sum of the between-class distance, is derived by first classifying the local optimums and then calculating the correlation distance of the thermal responses with the center points of each class. Finally, the TTRs with the largest between-class distance are regarded as the typical ones which can be used to identify the discriminative defect features of infrared image sequence. Finally, the comparison experiments are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed approach. © 2018, Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

The Bamboo Forest Growth Optimization(BFGO) algorithm is an algorithm proposed by the growth law of bamboo forest, which has the advantages of fast convergence and not easily falling into local optimum. In this paper we have experimented the BFGO with several other population intelligence optimization algorithms on 23 benchmark test functions and proved its superiority. Also we apply the bamboo forest optimization algorithm to nighttime image enhancement in this paper, and the algorithm achieves better results on this application. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Artificial Intelligence techniques, such as optimization algorithms, have become essential for success in many fields. Therefore, most researchers, especially in computer and engineering sciences, focused their efforts and abilities on adapting the optimization algorithms for solving various problems. This review introduces one of the recent nature-inspired optimization algorithms, called black widow optimization (BWO). This review highlights the main procedures of BWO, its strengths and weaknesses, the growth of BWO, the variants of BWO (i.e., binary, modification, and hybridization), and the efficiency of BWO in different fields and applications (i.e., feature selection, medical, image processing, engineering, IoT, power and energy, and networks). As a result, the review seeks to assist researchers who are interested in using the BWO to address their challenges. For instance, it could help manage large pilgrim crowds, enabling smoother ritual performances and overcoming potential difficulties they encounter. Also, it suggests new possible ways of enhancing the efficiency of the basic BWO. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Li metal is a promising candidate for battery anodes due to its high theoretical specific capacity(3860 mAh g-1)and low electrochemical potential(-3.04 V).Nevertheless,the challenges for Li metal include uncontrolled dendrites growth,unstable solid electrolyte interface,and infinite volume expansion during Li plating and stripping,which limit the further development of lithium metal anodes(LMAs).Intro-ducing Ag-based materials in LMAs is regarded as one of the most effective solutions to solve the above-mentioned problems,which have received considerable attention because of their superior characteristics,such as high electrical conductivity,outstanding lithiophilicity,and excellent mechanical ***,we review the recent progress on the application of Ag-based materials in ***,the theo-retical mechanism of Ag-based materials and their advantages in LMAs are *** addition,the relationship between their fabrication strategies,micro/nanostructures,and electrochemical performances is systematically ***,the challenges and opportunities for the future research and appli-cation of Ag-based materials in lithium metal batteries are proposed based on the available academic knowledge.

Over the past decade, the continuous surge in cloud computing demand has intensified data center workloads, leading to significant carbon emissions and driving the need for improving their efficiency and sustainability. This paper focuses on the optimal allocation problem of batch compute loads with temporal and spatial flexibility across a global network of data centers. We propose a bilevel game-theoretic solution approach that captures the inherent hierarchical relationship between supervisory control objectives, such as carbon reduction and peak shaving, and operational objectives, such as priority-aware scheduling. Numerical simulations with real carbon intensity data demonstrate that the proposed approach success-fully reduces carbon emissions while simultaneously ensuring operational reliability and priority-aware scheduling.

The field of high-bandwidth holography has been extensively studied over the past *** angular momentum(OAM)holography,which utilizes vortex beams with theoretically unbounded OAM modes as information carriers,showcases the large capacitance of hologram ***,OAM holography has been limited to a single wavelength,restricting its potential for full-color holography and *** this study,we propose wavelength and OAM multiplexed holography that utilizes the multiple dimensions of light—wavelength and OAM—to provide a multi-color platform that expands the information capacity of holographic storage *** proposed wavelength-OAM multiplexed holography is physically realized by a metasurface,the state-of-the-art optical element consisting of an array of artificially engineered *** silicon meta-atoms,the constituents of the metasurface,are engineered to possess wavelength selectivity by tailoring the dispersion of polarization *** meta-atoms are used to encode the calculated OAM-preserved phase maps based on our *** sampling grid of the phase map is rotated by 45°,which effectively suppress higher-order diffraction,providing a great strategy for achieving large field-of-view(FOV)*** successfully demonstrate six holographic images that are selectively reconstructed under the illumination of light with specific wavelengths(λ=450,635 nm)and topological charges(l=-2,0,2),without high-order *** work suggests that ultrathin meta-holograms can potentially realize ultrahigh-bandwidth full-color holography and holographic video displays with large FOV.
