In the field of image segmentation, it has been a research topic to pursue the lightweight of the model as much as possible without affecting the segmentation accuracy. The traditional U-Net is the classical segmentation model, but the number of parameters and computation required by the model are too large. To address this drawback, a lightweight network PM-UNet is proposed for lung image segmentation. Firstly, the ordinary 3×3 convolution used in the conventional U-Net is replaced by the new Inverted Residual Depthwise Separable convolution block to lighten the U-Net model. Also, to further compress the model, the four upsampling and downsampling networks of the lightweight U-Net are cut in half to simplify the network model. And atrous spatial pyramid pooling is used to expand the convolutional receptive field and add feature information of different scales. The attention gate can strengthen the information fusion effect of high-level and low-level information in the skip connection. The segmentation experiments were validated by using the LUNA competition lung image dataset, with the improved network model requiring only 2.2% and 14.4% of the number of parameters and computation of the traditional U-Net network, respectively. The experimental results of the network model achieved Accuracy of 0.991 and IOU of 0.958 on the test set, which is 0.6% improvement in Accuracy and 2.6% improvement in evaluation metric IOU compared to the conventional U-Net, and were tested against mainstream and recent segmentation networks. These results demonstrate that PM-UNet, which is improved on the basis of U-Net, has better segmentation effect on medical images.

Considering that hybrid energy storage system is regarded as one of the important components of microgrid, it is of great significance to study its power allocation strategy. The power fluctuation of microgrid is decomposed into three different components: random component, pulse component and continuous component. Accordingly, a multivariate hybrid energy storage system composed of supercapacitor, lithium iron phosphate battery and all-vanadium redox flow battery was used to stabilize the power fluctuation in microgrid; Two frequency dividing points of power fluctuation were obtained by wavelet transform, which were decomposed into three frequency components by a low-pass filter and a high-pass filter. Combined with system constraints, the power allocation strategy of multivariate hybrid energy storage system was designed. Compared with the traditional energy storage system, the simulation results showed that the multivariate hybrid energy storage system could effectively reduce the charging and discharging power as well as charging and discharging times of supercapacitors and lithium batteries, maintain the SOC fluctuation between 30% and 70%, and possess a more reasonable working range, thus prolonging the service life of energy storage components.

Data-Driven Bipartite Consensus Control for Large Workpieces Rotation of Nonlinear Multi-Robot Systems

In this paper, a novel data-driven bipartite consensus control scheme is proposed for the rotation problem of large workpieces with multi-robot systems (MRSs) under a directed communication topology. The rotation of a large workpiece is described as the MRSs with cooperation and antagonism interaction. By the signed graph theory, it is further transformed into a bipartite consensus control problem, where all followers are uniformly degenerated into the general nonlinear systems based on the lateral error model. To augment the flexibility of control protocol and improve control performance, a higher-dimensional full form dynamic linearization (FFDL) technique is committed to the MRSs. The control input criterion function consists of the data model based on FFDL and the bipartite consensus error based on the signed graph theory, and the proposed control protocol is given by optimizing this criterion function. In this way, this scheme has a higher degree of freedom and better adaptive adjustment capability while not excessively increasing the control method complexity, and it can also be compatible with other forms of dynamic linearization techniques in MRSs. Further, three matrix norm lemmas are introduced to deal with the challenges of stability analysis caused by higher matrix dimensions and more robots. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by numerical simulations.

As the demand for reliable power supply in power systems grows, ensuring the performance of circuit breaker operating mechanisms is crucial. This performance is pivotal to the stability of the power grid, the speed of fault recovery, and the equipment's lifespan. In this paper, we introduce a structural optimization plan for a new magnetic control operating mechanism designed for 10kV circuit breakers. Employing three-dimensional and mathematical modeling, complemented by finite element analysis with Maxwell software, we delved into an in-depth study of the mechanism's structure, performance, and materials. We further conducted a parametric design and comparative analysis of key components. The simulation results, which exclude the spring load, demonstrate that the optimized circuit breaker can achieve a closing velocity of 3.07 m/s, an electromagnetic force peaking at 2.7 kN, and a closure time minimized to 8.5 ms. These enhancements notably improve the mechanism's closing efficiency. Consequently, our research introduces a novel perspective to the field of reliability studies for magnetic control operating mechanisms. © 2024 IEEE.

This study aims to explore the reform of mechanical drawing teaching and the undergraduate training model with the goal of cultivating high-quality mechanical engineering undergraduate students. Grounded in the concepts of 'synergy between science and education' and 'integration of competition-oriented education and industry-university collaboration,' this research places talent cultivation as the central focus, linking it with discipline construction and emphasizing scientific research. The study promotes the reform of a collaborative education mechanism known as 'integration of competition-oriented education and industry-university collaboration,' effectively establishing a multi-level and multi-dimensional undergraduate training model for mechanical engineering students that incorporates the 'dual mentor system' and integrates theory, practice, and application. To apply this model in teaching practice, this research has undertaken the reform of traditional engineering drawing education, specifically addressing the issue of the gap between theory and practice in conventional teaching approaches. The proposed training program not only facilitates the development of innovative mechanical engineering professionals but also offers insights for the reform of undergraduate teaching models in the context of constructing 'new engineering disciplines'. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper provides an oscillation trajectory optimization and control method for two-link underactuated manipulators (UMs) in a vertical plane. The proposed method solves the problem that the UMs cannot always enter the balance region in the partitioning method. First, we establish the system dynamic model, and analyze the system couple characteristics. Then, we program an oscillation trajectory for the active link, and use the intelligent method to obtain the trajectory parameters, so ensuring the system can reach the area adjacent to the target position through tracking control. Next, we design the controller to realize the stable control at the target position. Finally, the simulation results show the effectiveness and generality of the control strategy. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Finite-horizon resilient state estimation for complex networks with integral measurements from partial nodes

This paper proposes a finite-horizon state estimation method for a kind of complex network that suffers from randomly occurring gain variations. The method involves utilizing integral measurements from a portion of nodes in such complex networks. Integral measurements are carried out to characterize time delays that occur in signal acquisition together with real-time signal processing. Measurements from only partial nodes reflect the fact that signals of several sensors are unacquirable. A Gaussian random variable is utilized to depict the random appearance of gain variations during the practical implementation of estimators. The aim of this paper is to construct finite-horizon resilient estimators for complex networks in view of integral measurements from a portion of nodes that fulfill the specified H∞ performance demand involving a specified disturbance attenuation level. Necessary and sufficient conditions are put forward to ensure that such ideal estimators exist by employing stochastic analysis as well as using the completing squares method. The gain parameters of the finite-horizon estimators are expressed by adopting the Moore-Penrose pseudoinverse and acquired through solving the solutions to a group of coupled backward recursive Riccati difference equations with constraint conditions. A confirmatory instance is carried out that demonstrates the feasibility of the newly developed estimation algorithm.

Aiming at the problem that visual SLAM algorithms have difficulty in rejecting occluded dynamic objects in dynamic environments, proposed a Dual Attention semantic Segmentation algorithm for visual SLAM (DAS-SLAM). The algorithm enhances feature extraction by improving the deep backbone network, and introduces spatial attention mechanism and channel attention mechanism to build the scene semantic dependency of features to accurately identify occluded objects. The region marked by the instance segmentation uses a combination of multi-view geometry and dynamic thresholding to determine the motion state of objects in the region, eliminating the influence of dynamic targets in the scene on SLAM localization accuracy. The results show that the rootmean-square error of the trajectory of the algorithm is reduced by 36% compared with the DS-SLAM algorithm, which effectively improves the accuracy of camera pose estimation and map construction and demonstrates more robustness.

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) can prevent the situation of front and rear wheels locked. However, the car having only ABS is not enough. For example, the distribution of braking force in the early stage of the car braking, and the car in the wet road starting acceleration. In the situation, the car requires ABS and other control systems of the car work together. In this paper, the electronic braking force distribution device (EBD) is integrated into the ABS to form the ABS/EBD braking system based on CAN bus. It consists of speed sensor, CAN bus, control unit and braking force distribution device. The system is used to improve the directional stability of braking before the ABS system starts. By measuring the slip rate of four wheels, the degree of locking is judged, so that the slip rate of four wheels is close, so that all wheels can be locked at the same time as much as possible. Compared with other braking force distribution systems, the system is characterized by the use of CAN bus as the carrier, which effectively improves the system's response ability and computing ability. It is also convenient to combine with other electronic systems on the car to form the intelligent network of the car. © 2021 IEEE.

Semivortex solitons and their excited states in spin-orbit-coupled binary bosonic condensates

It is known that two-dimensional two-component fundamental solitons of the semivortex (SV) type, with vorticities (s+,s−)=(0,1) in their components, are stable ground states (GSs) in the spin-orbit-coupled (SOC) binary Bose-Einstein condensate with the contact self-attraction acting in both components, in spite of the possibility of the critical collapse in the system. However, excited states (ESs) of the SV solitons, with the vorticity set (s+,s−)=(S+,S++1) and S+=1,2,3,..., are unstable in the same system. We construct ESs of SV solitons in the SOC system with opposite signs of the self-interaction in the two components. The main finding is stability of the ES-SV solitons, with the extra vorticity (at least) up to S+=6. The threshold value of the norm for the onset of the critical collapse, Nthr, in these excited states is higher than the commonly known critical value, Nc≈5.85, associated with the single-component Townes solitons, Nthr increasing with the growth of S+. A velocity interval for stable motion of the GS-SV solitons is found too. The results suggest a solution for the challenging problem of the creation of stable vortex solitons with high topological charges.
