As information acquisition terminals for artificial olfaction,chemiresistive gas sensors are often troubled by their cross-sensitivity,and reducing their cross-response to ambient gases has always been a difficult and important point in the gas sensing *** recognition based on sensor array is the most conspicuous way to overcome the cross-sensitivity of gas *** is crucial to choose an appropriate pattern recognition method for enhancing data analysis,reducing errors and improving system reliability,obtaining better classification or gas concentration prediction *** this review,we analyze the sensing mechanism of crosssensitivity for chemiresistive gas *** further examine the types,working principles,characteristics,and applicable gas detection range of pattern recognition algorithms utilized in gas-sensing ***,we report,summarize,and evaluate the outstanding and novel advancements in pattern recognition methods for gas *** the same time,this work showcases the recent advancements in utilizing these methods for gas identification,particularly within three crucial domains:ensuring food safety,monitoring the environment,and aiding in medical *** conclusion,this study anticipates future research prospects by considering the existing landscape and *** is hoped that this work will make a positive contribution towards mitigating cross-sensitivity in gas-sensitive devices and offer valuable insights for algorithm selection in gas recognition applications.

Due to the long-term relatively fixed state of industrial installations, the diversity of industrial data is low, with high repetitiveness and uneven distribution, which makes industrial few-shot object detection still challenging. Therefore, from the perspective of handling the dataset, this paper proposes a virtual sample generation method based on virtual reality. Firstly, by using a virtual engine, the target workpiece model is created to directly simulate the states of the workpieces captured by the visual system in various environments. Secondly, random algorithms are added and improved to simulate workpieces with different materials and degrees of wear, distributed in random positions with different poses and types in the visual system, thereby generating virtual samples containing workpieces. Finally, virtual samples are introduced for experimental testing in the target detection network. The proposed method is tested in both YOLOv5 and YOLOv7 and compared with datasets without virtual samples, resulting in an improvement of 3.06% and 2.23% in mAP values, respectively. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively improves the issue of industrial small-sample object detection. © 2023 IEEE.

Liquid metal-based microchannel heat sinks (MCHSs) suffer from the low heat capacity of coolant, resulting in an excessive temperature rise of coolant and heat sink when dealing with high-power heat dissipation. In this paper, it was found that expanded space at the top of fins could distribute the heat inside microchannels, reducing the temperature rise of coolant and heat sink. The orthogonal experiments revealed that expanding the top space of channels yielded similar temperature reductions to changing the channel width. The flow and thermal modeling of expanded microchannel heat sink (E-MCHS) were analyzed by both using the 3-dimensional (3D) numerical simulation and the 1-dimensional (1D) thermal resistance model. The fin efficiency of E-MCHS was derived to improve the accuracy of the 1D thermal resistance model. The heat conduction of liquid metal in Z direction and the heat convection between the top surface of fins and the liquid metal could reduce the total thermal resistance (Rt). The above process was effective for microchannels with low channel aspect ratio, low mean velocity (Um) or long heat sink length. The maximum thermal resistance reduction in the example of this paper reached 36.0%. The expanded space endowed the heat sink with lower pressure, which might further reduce the pumping power (P). This rule was feasible both when fins were truncated (h_(2) < 0, h_(2) is the height of expanded channel for E-MCHS) and when over plate was raised (h_(2) > 0).

Wide-bandgap(WBG)perovskite solar cells(PSCs)play a fundamental role in perovskite-based tandem solar ***,the efficiency of WBG PSCs is limited by significant open-circuit voltage losses,which are primarily caused by surface *** this study,we present a novel method for modifying surfaces using the multifunctional S-ethylisothiourea hydrobromide(SEBr),which can passivate both Pb^(-1)and FA^(-1)terminated surfaces,Moreover,the SEBr upshifted the Fermi level at the perovskite interface,thereby promoting carrier *** proposed method was effective for both 1.67 and 1.77 eV WBG PSCs,achieving power conversion efficiencies(PCEs)of 22.47%and 19.90%,respectively,with V_(OC)values of 1.28 and 1.33 V,along with improved film and device *** this advancement,we were able to fabricate monolithic all-perovskite tandem solar cells with a champion PCE of 27.10%,This research offers valuable insights for passivating the surface trap states of WBG perovskite through rational multifunctional molecular engineering.

Ultrasonic vibration-assisted technology is employed in orthopaedic surgery to minimise invasive effects in bone milling. This study explored the motion characteristics of ultrasonic vibration-assisted milling (UVAM), its intermittent cutting phenomenon, and tool-bone contact and separation times, via the developed experimental platform. The UVAM and conventional milling (CM) tests were carried out on bovine cortical bones with measurement of respective cutting forces and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation of crack initiation and propagation in the milled bones. The UVAM application improved the chip-breaking ability of the milling tool and reduced the bone-milling force by 15.90%–25.06% compared to CM. Properly adjusting ultrasonic frequency and amplitude made it possible to reduce the bone cracking effect and enhance the milled bone surface quality. Copyright © 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

In the process of coal mine drilling,controlling the rotary speed is important as it determines the efficiency and safety of *** this paper,a linear extended state observer(LESO)based backstepping controller for rotary speed is proposed,which can overcome the impact of changes in coal seam hardness on rotary ***,the influence of coal seam hardness on the drilling rig’s rotary system is considered for the first time,which is reflected in the numerical variation of load torque,and a dynamic model for the design of rotary speed controller is *** an LESO is designed to observe the load torque,and feedforward compensation is carried out to overcome the influence of coal seam *** on the model of the compensated system,a backstepping method is used to design a controller to achieve tracking control of the rotary ***,the effectiveness of the controller designed in this paper is demonstrated through simulation and field experiments,the steady-state error of the rotary speed in field is 1 r/min,and the overshoot is reduced to 5.8%.This greatly improves the stability and security,which is exactly what the drilling process requires.

This paper investigates the optimal tracking performance (OTP) of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) discrete networked control systems (NCSs) under the influence of Denial of Service (DoS) attack, channel noise, and bandwidth constraints. The channel noise is assumed to be additive Gaussian white noise (AWGN). Due to the randomness of DoS attack, a Bernoulli distribution is used for DoS modeling. Utilizing frequency domain analysis methods, coprime factorization, all-pass decomposition, and Youla parameterization, an explicit expression for the optimal tracking performance (OTP) of the system under the two-degree-of-freedom (TDOF) controller is derived. The analysis indicates that non-minimum phase (NMP) zeros, unstable poles (UPs), DoS attack, and network constraints affect the OTP of NCSs. Finally, the theoretical results are validated through simulations of MIMO NCS and vehicle control system. © 2024 IEEE.

Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a non-contact method for measuring heart rate (HR) through facial video, breaking the constraints of contact measurements and offering broad application prospects. However, in real monitoring scenarios, the distance of subjects and facial illumination often vary. This leads to degradation of rPPG signals due to changes in facial resolution and light intensity. This paper presents the High and Low Frequency Feature Adversarial Learning Network (HLFF-AL), which utilizes feature space interpolation and composite feature capture to perform multi-band global and local signal extraction. By adopting an adversarial learning strategy, it enhances the capability to capture semantic information of rPPG under varying resolutions and lighting, bridging the differences in rPPG signal generation due to resolution changes. While maintaining accuracy in HR measuring, the robustness of the network is improved to achieve robust measurement of HR via rPPG. Even under high-resolution conditions, the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) for the three public datasets - unchanging lighting (COHFACE, UBFC-rPPG) and varying lighting (BUAA-MIHR) - reached 1.10 bpm, 1.64 bpm, and 4.41 bpm, respectively, with a mere 0.29 bpm difference in MAE between high and low resolutions on the BUAA-MIHR dataset. This demonstrates that HLFF-AL can predict more robust rPPG signals in various resolutions and lighting scenarios, achieving competitive results compared to state-of-the-art methods. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Aiming at the problems of actuator saturation, trajectory tracking, formation and obstacle avoidance planning in multi-UAVs formation obstacle avoidance control, an anti-saturation UAV formation obstacle avoidance control strategy is proposed. First, for the trajectory tracking problem of a single UAV, a backstepping control strategy is used to reduce the second-order nonlinear system to two first-order subsystems to reduce the system complexity. At the same time, a saturation function is designed to eliminate the impact of actuator saturation on the system;On this basis, the formation consistency protocol is designed to ensure the effectiveness of formation control and the corresponding obstacle avoidance function is designed to enable UAV formation to effectively avoid obstacles and ensure flight safety;Finally, the feasibility of the control strategy is verified in the Simulink simulation environment. © 2023 IEEE.
