Cryptoprocessors play a pivotal role in enhancing the security of modern computing systems by accelerating cryptographic operations and fortifying data protection. This survey delves into the world of cryptoprocessors, encompassing their historical development, architectural features, and various types based on their applications. The paper explores the crucial security considerations surrounding cryptoprocessors, covering both physical and logical aspects, as well as potential threats and countermeasures. Furthermore, the survey navigates through the latest technological trends and advancements in cryptoprocessor design. This includes discussions on post-quantum cryptography, secure enclaves, and mitigating side-channel attacks, all of which are shaping the future of cryptoprocessors. We introduce a novel differentially private algorithm for online federated learning that employs temporally correlated noise to enhance utility while ensuring privacy of continuously released models. To address challenges posed by DP noise and local updates with streaming non-iid data, we develop a perturbed iterate analysis to control the impact of the DP noise on the utility. Moreover, we demonstrate how the drift errors from local updates can be effectively managed under a quasi-strong convexity condition. Subject to an (, δ) DP budget, we establish a dynamic regret bound over the entire time horizon, quantifying the impact of key parameters and the intensity of changes in dynamic environments. Numerical experiments confirm the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

Nowcasting and forecasting solar irradiance are vital for the optimal prediction of grid-connected solar photovoltaic(PV)power *** plants face operational challenges and scheduling dispatch difficulties due to the fluctuating nature of their power *** the generation capacity within the electric grid increases,accurately predicting this output becomes increasingly essential,especially given the random and non-linear characteristics of solar irradiance under variable weather *** study presents a novel prediction method for solar irradiance,which is directly in correlation with PV power output,targeting both short-term and medium-term forecast *** proposed hybrid framework employs a fast trainable statistical learning technique based on the truncated-regularized kernel ridge regression *** proposed method excels in forecasting solar irradiance,especially during highly intermittent weather periods.A key strength of our model is the incorporation of multiple historical weather parameters as inputs to generate accurate predictions of future solar irradiance values in its scalable *** evaluated the performance of our model using data sets from both cloudy and sunny days in Seattle and Medford,USA and compared it against three forecasting models:persistence,modified 24-hour persistence and least *** on three widely accepted statistical performance metrics(root mean squared error,mean absolute error and coefficient of determination),our hybrid model demonstrated superior predictive accuracy in varying weather conditions and forecast horizons.

Securing digital image data is a key concern in today’s information-driven *** encryption techniques are required to protect sensitive image data,with the Substitution-box(S-box)often playing a pivotal role in many symmetric encryption *** study introduces an innovative approach to creating S-boxes for encryption *** proposed S-boxes are tested for validity and non-linearity by incorporating them into an image encryption *** nonlinearity measure of the proposed S-boxes is *** qualities significantly enhance its resistance to common cryptographic attacks,ensuring high image data ***,to assess the robustness of the S-boxes,an encryption system has also been proposed and the proposed S-boxes have been integrated into the designed encryption *** validate the effectiveness of the proposed encryption system,a comprehensive security analysis including brute force attack and histogram analysis has been *** addition,to determine the level of security during the transmission and storage of digital content,the encryption system’s Number of Pixel Change Rate(NPCR),and Unified Averaged Changed Intensity(UACI)are *** results indicate a 99.71%NPCR and 33.51%*** results demonstrate that the proposed S-boxes offer a significant level of security for digital content throughout its transmission and storage.

Vehicle platooning has attracted growing attention for its potential to enhance traffic capacity and road safety. This paper proposes an innovative distributed Stochastic Model Predictive Control (SMPC) for a vehicle platoon system to enhance the robustness and safety of the vehicles in uncertain traffic environments. In particular, considering the similarity between the acceleration or deceleration behaviour of neighbouring vehicles and the spring-scale properties, we use a two-mass spring system for the first time to construct an uncertain dynamic model of a formation system. In the presence of uncertain perturbations with known distributional attributes (expectation, variance), we propose an objective function in the form of expectation along with probabilistic chance constraints. Subsequently, a state feedback control mechanism is devised accordingly. Under the cumulative probability distribution function of stochastic perturbations, we theoretically derive a computationally tractable equivalent of the SMPC model. Finally, simulation experiments are designed to validate the control performance of the SMPC platoon controllers, along with an analysis of the stability performance under varying probabilities. The experimental findings demonstrate that the model can be efficiently solved in real-time with appropriately chosen prediction horizon lengths, ensuring robust and safe longitudinal vehicle formation control. In skeleton-based action recognition, graph convolutional networks (GCN) have been applied to extract features based on the dynamic of the human body and the method has achieved excellent results recently. However, GCN-based techniques only focus on the spatial correlations between human joints and often overlook the temporal relationships. In an action sequence, the consecutive frames in a neighborhood contain similar poses and using only temporal convolutions for extracting local features limits the flow of useful information into the calculations. In many cases, the discriminative features can present in long-range time steps and it is important to also consider them in the calculations to create stronger representations. We propose an attentional graph convolutional network, which adapts self-attention mechanisms to respectively model the correlations between human joints and between every time steps for skeleton-based action recognition. On two common datasets, the NTU-RGB+D60 and the NTU-RGB+D120, the proposed method achieved competitive classification results compared to state-of-the-art methods. Multi-dimensional Classification via Selective Feature Augmentation

In multi-dimensional classification(MDC), the semantics of objects are characterized by multiple class spaces from different dimensions. Most MDC approaches try to explicitly model the dependencies among class spaces in output space. In contrast, the recently proposed feature augmentation strategy, which aims at manipulating feature space, has also been shown to be an effective solution for MDC. However, existing feature augmentation approaches only focus on designing holistic augmented features to be appended with the original features, while better generalization performance could be achieved by exploiting multiple kinds of augmented *** this paper, we propose the selective feature augmentation strategy that focuses on synergizing multiple kinds of augmented ***, by assuming that only part of the augmented features is pertinent and useful for each dimension′s model induction, we derive a classification model which can fully utilize the original features while conduct feature selection for the augmented features. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy, we generate three kinds of simple augmented features based on standard k NN, weighted k NN, and maximum margin techniques, respectively. Comparative studies show that the proposed strategy achieves superior performance against both state-of-the-art MDC approaches and its degenerated versions with either kind of augmented features.

Transformers have emerged as a groundbreaking architecture in the field of computer vision, offering a compelling alternative to traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) by enabling the modeling of long-range dependencies and global context through self-attention mechanisms. Originally developed for natural language processing, transformers have now been successfully adapted for a wide range of vision tasks, leading to significant improvements in performance and generalization. This survey provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles of transformer architectures, highlighting the core mechanisms such as self-attention, multi-head attention, and positional encoding that distinguish them from CNNs. We delve into the theoretical adaptations required to apply transformers to visual data, including image tokenization and the integration of positional embeddings. A detailed analysis of key transformer-based vision architectures such as ViT, DeiT, Swin Transformer, PVT, Twins, and CrossViT are presented, alongside their practical applications in image classification, object detection, video understanding, medical imaging, and cross-modal tasks. The paper further compares the performance of vision transformers with CNNs, examining their respective strengths, limitations, and the emergence of hybrid models. Finally, current challenges in deploying ViTs, such as computational cost, data efficiency, and interpretability, and explore recent advancements and future research directions including efficient architectures, self-supervised learning, and multimodal integration are discussed. © 2013 IEEE.

Metaheuristic algorithms,as effective methods for solving optimization problems,have recently attracted considerable attention in science and engineering *** are popular and have broad applications owing to their high efficiency and low *** algorithms are generally based on the behaviors observed in nature,physical sciences,or *** study proposes a novel metaheuristic algorithm called dark forest algorithm(DFA),which can yield improved optimization results for global optimization *** DFA,the population is divided into four groups:highest civilization,advanced civilization,normal civilization,and low *** civilization has a unique way of *** verify DFA’s capability,the performance of DFA on 35 well-known benchmark functions is compared with that of six other metaheuristic algorithms,including artificial bee colony algorithm,firefly algorithm,grey wolf optimizer,harmony search algorithm,grasshopper optimization algorithm,and whale optimization *** results show that DFA provides solutions with improved efficiency for problems with low dimensions and outperforms most other algorithms when solving high dimensional *** applied to five engineering projects to demonstrate its *** results show that the performance of DFA is competitive to that of current well-known metaheuristic ***,potential upgrading routes for DFA are proposed as possible future developments.
