This paper deals with an intelligent decision-making strategy of energy management for a smart grid within an element storage in order to reduce the system cost and improve its reliability. Indeed, the integration of distributed energy storage devices allows the customers to store energy and reuse at a later time or delayed some appliances operation according to a time-varying price signal. The adopted strategy is based on an artificial intelligence control algorithm “fuzzy logic”. The main objective is to determine the appropriate source (grid or battery) used for meeting the consumer. The decision solution shows the system reliability where the switches are synchronized. Switches draw electricity from the grid for both load and battery when price is low and in contrary when electricity price is high, we find a variation's price correspondance with the switch drawing electricity from the battery. The obtained results are verified carrying out Matlab simulation using real data such as the electricity price (Price (t)) and the battery state of charge (SOC (t)).

This systematic review examines the synergistic and individual influences of resistance exercise, dietary protein supplementation, and sleep/recovery on muscle protein synthesis (MPS). Electronic databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science were extensively used. Studies were selected based on relevance to the criteria and were ensured to be directly applicable to the objectives. Research indicates that a protein dose of 20 to 25 grams maximally stimulates MPS post-resistance training. It is observed that physically frail individuals aged 76 to 92 and middle-aged adults aged 62 to 74 have lower mixed muscle protein synthetic rates than individuals aged 20 to 32. High-whey protein and leucine-enriched supplements enhance MPS more efficiently than standard dairy products in older adults engaged in resistance programs. Similarly, protein intake before sleep boosts overnight MPS rates, which helps prevent muscle loss associated with sleep debt, exercise-induced damage, and muscle-wasting conditions like sarcopenia and cachexia. Resistance exercise is a functional intervention to achieve muscular adaptation and improve function. Future research should focus on variables such as fluctuating fitness levels, age groups, genetics, and lifestyle factors to generate more accurate and beneficial results. © 2024, CC BY.

A UHF TV band log-periodic antenna with 14 dipoles and optimized to reject 4G/5G mobile communications signals at 800 MHz as well as GSM 2G signals at 900 MHz is presented in this study. This new antenna combines reception and filtering in one component and thus avoids the use of expensive external band stop or low pass filters. Its passband frequency range of 470 to 790 MHz is dedicated to digital TV and it provides adequate matching and high realized gain between 9 dBi to 11 dBi. Gain becomes negative in the stopband and it drops to -6 dBi above approximately 800 MHz. © 2021 IEEE.

Moreover, it examines the ongoing research efforts to improve fault-tolerance architectures. At the end of the paper, the paper presents system-level metrics that are relevant to fault tolerance.

Cooperative object transportation using multiple robots has been intensively studied in the control and robotics literature, but most approaches are either only applicable to omnidirectional robots or lack a complete navigation and decision-making framework that operates in real time. This paper presents an autonomous nonholonomic multi-robot system and an end-to-end hierarchical autonomy framework for collaborative luggage trolley transportation. This framework finds kinematic-feasible paths, computes online motion plans, and provides feedback that enables the multi-robot system to handle long lines of luggage trolleys and navigate obstacles and pedestrians while dealing with multiple inherently complex and coupled constraints. We demonstrate the designed collaborative trolley transportation system through practical transportation tasks, and the experiment results reveal their effectiveness and reliability in complex and dynamic environments. As a superior multicarrier technique utilizing chirp signals for high-mobility communications, affine frequency division multiplexing (AFDM) is envisioned to be a promising candidate for sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks. AFDM is based on the discrete affine Fourier transform (DAFT) with two adjustable parameters of the chirp signals, termed the pre-chirp and post-chirp parameters, respectively. Whilst the post-chirp parameter complies with stringent constraints to combat the time-frequency doubly selective channel fading, we show that the pre-chirp counterpart can be flexibly manipulated for an additional degree of freedom. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel AFDM scheme with the pre-chirp index modulation (PIM) philosophy (AFDM-PIM), which can implicitly convey extra information bits through dynamic pre-chirp parameter assignment, thus enhancing both spectral and energy efficiency. Specifically, we first demonstrate that the subcarrier orthogonality is still maintained by applying distinct pre-chirp parameters to various subcarriers in the AFDM modulation process. Inspired by this property, we allow each AFDM subcarrier to carry a unique pre-chirp signal according to the incoming bits. By such an arrangement, extra bits can be embedded into the index patterns of pre-chirp parameter assignment without additional energy consumption. We derive asymptotically tight upper bounds on the average bit error probability (BEP) of the proposed schemes with the maximum-likelihood detection, and validate that the proposed AFDM-PIM can achieve full diversity under doubly dispersive channels. Based on the derived result, we further propose an optimal pre-chirp alphabet design to enhance the bit error rate (BER) performance via intelligent optimization algorithms. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed AFDM-PIM outperforms the classical benchmarks. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

As the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to develop, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are being utilized more and more. The most pressing issue in these networks is the need to reduce energy consumption as much as possible to ensure the longevity of the network. A novel routing protocol, WMCL-BCRP, has been proposed which is based on Markovian clustering and sensor weighting. It is a hybrid solution that combines the grouping of the network sensors in a centralized way using Markov clustering and the implementation of a new decentralized approach for the election of the cluster heads(CH) and sensors involved in the routing according to two criteria, which are the density of sensors and their residual energy. WMCL-BCRP is an improved version of MCL-BCRP, which utilizes the same clustering system and selects cluster heads, and sends sensors based on their location and energy levels. Simulations of the WMCL-BCRP protocol show significant network lifespan increases compared to its successor MCL-BCRP and LEACH.

Previous research has identified hematoma as the primary cause of mortality and disability in intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH), yet neurologic outcomes post-IVH have not significantly improved following hematoma evacuation. Therefore, utilizing spatial transcriptomics sequencing technology to acquire and analyze IVH data is of significant importance for the early diagnosis and treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage. However, existing spatial transcriptomics clustering algorithms often overlook local information, fail to integrate multimodal data, and suffer from performance instability. To address these issues, we developed a multimodal spatial transcriptomics clustering algorithm named STARGATE, which initially captures the global spatial topology and local long-sequence gene set features of cells by integrating Graph Convolutional Networks (GCNs) based on self-attention mechanisms and Long Short-Term Memory networks (LSTMs), subsequently fuses gene expression, tissue imagery, morphological, and spatial coordinate features using Gated Recurrent Units (GRUs), and finally enhances the accuracy and robustness of predictions through ensemble learning methods. Our key experimental results include: (1) In clustering experiments on our proprietary mouse IVH spatial transcriptomics dataset, the STARGATE model achieved Adjusted Rand Index (ARI), Normalized Mutual Information (NMI), and Fowlkes-Mallows Index (FMI) scores of 0.80, 0.84, and 0.82, respectively, all superior to classic algorithms such as stLearn and CCST. (2) In clustering experiments on the mouse IVH dataset, the STARGATE model reached an accuracy of 89.63%, with an excellent confusion matrix, demonstrating outstanding accuracy and stability. (3) In clustering experiments on the public dataset DLFPC, which is known for its high data complexity leading to generally lower clustering metrics, the STARGATE model's ARI, NMI, and FMI indicators still outperformed classic algorithms such as SpaGCN and Seurat.

Quantum Artificial Intelligence (QAI) stands for the combination of the exercise of ‘quantum computing’ and ‘artificial intelligence’ that drives breakthrough transformation across various industries. In this paper, it is discussed on how QAI is bringing change across industries including pharmaceuticals, finance, weather prediction, supply chain, security, smart cities, agriculture, telecommunication, and education. With quantum mechanics conceptions, QAI enhance computation ability to address more data, and enhance the algorithms. Quantum technologies have potential for attachment to AI systems and make the previously unachievable innovations with the help of overgrowing the classical models. As a conclusion, this paper also discusses its result on the methodological difficulties and ethical issues of QAI, the need to build strategic partnerships and the need for well-regulated legislation. The results extend our understanding of QAI to apprehend the future of technology and its application for solving some of the greatest problems that the world faces today.
