In this paper, iterative learning control (ILC) design is studied for an iteration-varying tracking problem in which reference trajectories are generated by high-order internal models (HOLM). An HOlM formulated as a polynomial operator between consecutive iterations describes the changes of desired trajectories in the iteration domain and makes the iterative learning problem become iteration varying. The classical ILC for tracking iteration-invariant reference trajectories, on the other hand, is a special case of HOlM where the polynomial renders to a unity coefficient or a special first-order internal model. By inserting the HOlM into P-type ILC, the tracking performance along the iteration axis is investigated for a class of continuous-time nonlinear systems. Time-weighted norm method is utilized to guarantee validity of proposed algorithm in a sense of data-driven control.

This research exploits the fact embedded in immune system to communicate between innate immune response and adaptive immune response levels. We first sort infeasible antibodies based on their constraint violation values and feasible antibodies based on their objective function values. The next processes assesses in what directions individuals with high affinities should move to improve their objective function values and reduce constraint violations. This information is used to estimate the mutation direction to infeasible antibodies. This approach is validated and tested using benchmark functions used in related researches and the results obtained are compared with studies made in similar area. The performance acquired is competitive and in some cases even better than those of state-of-the-art. The algorithm is also designed to obtain feasible solutions in every run executed.

Missions envisioned for Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) such as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) in urban environments require exceptional agility. These missions typically involve flight through or in close proximity to buildings, tunnels and trees, and require the MAVs to maneuver using sharp dives and climbs along with small-radius turns. The small size of MAVs allows such flight operations within confined space but the control effectors must provide sufficient maneuverability, while maintaining stability, with only limited sensing capability onboard the platform. To meet these challenges, researchers have long been attracted by the amazing attributes of biological systems, such as those exhibited by birds and insects. Birds can fly in dense flocks, executing rapid maneuvers with g-loads far in excess of modern fighter aircrafts, and yet never collide with each other, despite the absence of air traffic controllers. This paper introduces a novel framework for the design and control of a Micro Air Vehicle. The vehicle's conceptual design is based on biologically-inspired principles and emulates a dragonfly (Odonata-Anisoptera). The author is borrowing flight mechanism features from the dragonfly and merging them with indigenous designs in creating a novel version of a Flapping Wing MAV, called the QV. The QV design incorporates the simplicity of mechanical construction and the complexity of a sophisticated multi-layered Hybrid & Linear / Non-Linear controller to achieve extended flight times and improved agility compared to other Rotary and Flapping Wing MAV designs. The paper talks about the design and control features of the proposed QV design and gives an overview on the developmental efforts been made towards the prototyping of the QV flyer. This paper addresses robust stability of genetic regulatory networks (GRNs) with stochastic perturbation and discrete and distributed time-varying delays. Aside from discrete delays, there are few results about stability of GRNs with distributed delay. In this paper, noise perturbation and delays have been considered in both mRNA and protein dynamics. Based on Lyapunov functional approach and linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques, sufficient conditions are established to guarantee the robust stability of genetic regulatory networks. Stability conditions are derived in the form of LMIs, which are very easy to be verified. An example is presented to verify the theoretical results.

In this paper, continuous-time H 2 and H ∞ control techniques for a flexible transmission system are presented. This system has two very oscillatory vibration modes subjected to large load variation, which makes the control of it be difficult. A set of design specification in time domain is to be met by a single controller on each of the three main plant models. Furthermore, the tracking problem in the presence of disturbance and load variation is investigated. Finally, the simulation results for H 2 and H ∞ controllers for three different loadings are given and compared. The simulation results show the good performance of the proposed controllers.
