This work proposes a novel and provably correct method for three-dimensional optimal motion planning in complex environments. Our approach models the 3D motion planning problem by solving streamlines of the potential fluid flow, filling a gap in traditional motion planning techniques by guaranteeing a closed-loop, smooth and natural-looking navigation solution. Special emphasis is given to an inherent challenge of artificial potential field (APF) methods, namely establishing proofs of safety and stability over the entire optimization process. A model-based actor-critic reinforcement learning algorithm is introduced to approximate the optimal solution to the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation and update the controller parameters in a deterministic manner. Through a series of ROS-Gazebo software-in-the-loop simulations the proposed methodology demonstrates robustness and outperforms widely used methods such as the RRT ∗ , highlighting its contribution to the field of 3D optimal motion planning.

We develop a first-order accelerated algorithm for a class of constrained bilinear saddle-point problems with applications to network systems. The algorithm is a modified time-varying primal-dual version of an accelerated mirror-descent dynamics. It deals with constraints such as simplices and convex set constraints effectively, and converges with a rate of O(1/t2). Furthermore, we employ the acceleration scheme to constrained distributed optimization and bilinear zero-sum games, and obtain two variants of distributed accelerated algorithms. Energy-Based control Approaches for Weakly Coupled Electromechanical systems

This paper addresses the regulation and trajectory-tracking problems for two classes of weakly coupled electromechanical systems. To this end, we formulate an energy-based model for these systems within the port-Hamiltonian framework. Then, we employ Lyapunov theory and the notion of contractive systems to develop control approaches in the port-Hamiltonian framework. Remarkably, these control methods eliminate the need for solving partial differential equations or implementing any change of coordinates, and are endowed with a physical interpretation. We also investigate the effect of coupled damping on the transient performance and convergence rate of the closed-loop system. Finally, the applicability of the proposed approaches is illustrated in two applications of electromechanical systems via simulations. © 2024, CC BY.

A Parallel Read-Write Circuit With Fast Amplitude-Adaptive Matching Scheme to Memristor Crossbar Array

Memristor crossbar array (MCA) is a computing-in-memory (CIM) module for computational acceleration. However, conventional read-write (R-W) circuits for MCA rely heavily on external components and have shortcoming in long writing times. To address these issues, we propose a parallel R-W circuit with a fast amplitude-adaptive matching (AAM) scheme. The fast AAM scheme is designed to accelerate time of writing memristors in MCA by adaptively adjusting the writing voltage to match an optimal amplitude. The architecture of parallel R-W circuit are outlined with the implementation of R-W processes. The design principles of parallel R-W unit, fast AAM unit, and associated control logic are described for analyzing their functions within the circuit. By integrating the parallel R-W circuit with MCA, a computing block is leveraged in a neural network for classification tasks. The experimental results demonstrate that the neural network with multiple computing blocks maintains high accuracy across various datasets (over 80%). Furthermore, the proposed AAM scheme achieves an average 54% reduction in writing time compared to that one without AAM scheme. Compared to the pulse-width scheme, the parallel R-W circuit exhibits an average 3.05× speedup in adjusting a 5×5 MCA, and the speedup efficiency is higher as the increases of MCA size. © 2025 IEEE.

The evaluation of regional geological hazard susceptibility is of great significance to the prevention and control of geological hazard. In this paper, the "4-20" Lushan earthquake disaster area as the research area, combined with GIS and characteristics of the research area, through correlation analysis, selected 9 influencing factors as the evaluation factors. The study was conducted using a weighted information volume-logistic regression model (WI-LR). The results were classified into five sensitivity levels: very low, low, medium, high and very high. The results show that the landslide prone areas in Lushan County are concentrated in the area below the middle of the county seat, mostly near rivers, faults and areas with peak acceleration greater than 0.4. Among them, WI-LR model (AUC=0.918) > deterministic factor model (CF =0.908) > weighted information quantity model (WI) (AUC=0.896) > information quantity model I (AUC=0.853) > information quantity logistic regression model I-LR (AUC=0.799). It indicates that WI-LR model has high evaluation accuracy.

Spherical actuators are active joints that rotate around three directions and are more compact than conventional joints using multiple single-axis motors connected in series. However, spherical electromagnetic actuators have low torque density, particularly in tilt directions, hindering practical applications. The essential reason is that their stator and rotor are misaligned after tilting, which not only reduces the electromagnetic torque but also introduces restoring torques. To enhance torque density, this paper proposes a 3-DOF permanent magnet spherical actuator with a tiltable stator. The relative positions of the stators and rotors of each actuation unit remain unchanged after tilting, maintaining high output torque and allowing large tilting angles, and rotating and tilting torques are decoupled. We introduce the working principle of the proposed actuator and establish its basic structure. Two-dimensional magnetic field finite element analysis and conformal transformation are combined to simplify three-dimensional magnetic field computations. The optimized parameters for the tilting unit are obtained. Finally, a prototype is fabricated and experimentally tested. The proposed spherical actuator yields a tilt torque exceeding 8 Nm and a rotation torque of 7.34 Nm, corresponding to a torque density of 1.75 Nm/kg for tilt and 1.6 Nm/kg for rotation relative to the entire actuator. © 2015 IEEE.

The examination of power systems plays a pivotal role in averting power interruptions while safeguarding grid integrity as well as fostering economic resilience. Within imagery from these inspections lie diminutive target entities alongside multiscale complexities;challenges arise in distinguishing foreground from background amidst uneven sample distributions. To fortify our model's capacity for discerning intricate targets amid mitigating background noise disruptions along with environmental fluctuations necessitates amalgamating multilevel multidimensional image features. Henceforth emerges our introduction of BiFPN (Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network) module coupled with our proposition of YOLOvlO object detection network featuring bidirectional feature fusion. Within this framework's architecture lies an integration of BiFPN replacing Concat for streamlined multiscale feature fusion efficiency;further complemented by a novel Focal-EloU loss function aimed at harmonizing contributions from high- versus low-quality samples towards enhancing model efficacy across imbalanced datasets. Experimental evaluations conducted on power system inspection datasets demonstrate superior detection capabilities exhibited by our proposed network compared against incumbent models as well as mainstream object detection networks-thus advancing secure intelligent scrutiny over power lines. © 2024 IEEE.

Distributed Traffic Signal control of Interconnected Intersections: A Two-Lane Traffic Network Model

Practical and accurate traffic models play an important role in capturing real traffic dynamics and then in achieving effective control performance. This paper studies traffic signal control in a traffic network with multiple interconnected intersections, where the target is to balance the vehicle density on each lane by controlling the green times of each phase at every intersection. Different from traditional road-based modeling schemes, a two-lane intersection model is first proposed to model the flow propagation in a more accurate way. A distributed model predictive control (MPC) method is then presented to assign the green times. To enable the real-time feasibility of the proposed approach, the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is incorporated with the distributed MPC scheme for solving the problem. Finally, the simulation studies performed in VISSIM for a six-intersection traffic network in Dalian, China, show the effectiveness and characteristics of the proposed method. Wearable sensors have been rapidly developed for application in various human monitoring ***,the wearing comfort and thermal properties of these devices have been largely ignored,and these characteristics urgently need to be ***,we develop a wearable and breathable nanofiber-based sensor with excellent thermal management functionality based on passive heat preservation and active Joule heating *** multifunctional device consists of a micropatterned carbon nanotube(CNT)/thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)nanofiber electrode,a microporous ionic aerogel electrolyte and a microstructured Ag/TPU nanofiber *** to the presence of a supercapacitive sensing mechanism and the appli-cation of microstructuration,the sensor shows excellent sensing performance,with a sensitivity of 24.62 ***,due to the overall porous structure and hydrophobicity of TPU,the sensor shows good breathability(62 mm/s)and water repellency,with a water contact angle of 151.2°.In addition,effective passive heat preservation is achieved by combining CNTs with high solar absorption rates(85%)as the top layer facing the outside,aerogel with a low thermal conductivity(0.063 W m-1 k-1)as the middle layer for thermal insulation,and Ag with a high infrared reflectance rate as the bottom layer facing the *** warming,this material yields a higher temperature than ***,the active Joule heat-ing effect is realized by applying current through the bottom resistive electrode,which can quickly increase the temperature to supply controlled warming on *** proposed wearable and breathable sensor with tunable thermal properties is promising for monitoring and heat therapy applications in cold environments.
