After adopting 5G technology, businesses and academia have started working on sixth-generation wireless networking (6G) technologies. Mobile communications options are expected to expand in areas where previous generations could not do so. 6G networks are anticipated to be constructed using various diverse technologies. These encompass diverse cutting-edge advancements, such as distributed ledger systems like blockchain, visible light communications (VLC), post-quantum cryptography, edge computing, molecular communication, THz, and other advances. These advances necessitate a reassessment of previous security strategies from a security perspective. In the future, networks must adhere to stricter criteria for authentication, encryption, access control, connectivity, and detection of harmful activities. Ensuring privacy and dependability necessitates the implementation of supplementary security protocols. The essay explores the primary concerns and challenges related to the security of the 6G network. This paper describes the improvements in security in communications from 1G through 6G. This paper divides security in the sixth generation into three layers: physical, connection, and service. Each layer-by-layer discusses the standard technologies and security issues for each technology proposed in each sixth-generation security layer. All proposed solutions for each of the three layers are discussed in Sixth Generation Security. It also reviews all proposed solutions for each layer, indicating the proposed solution and its limitations. © The Author(s) 2025.

The matching and linear matroid intersection problems are solvable in quasi-NC, meaning that there exist deterministic algorithms that run in polylogarithmic time and use quasi-polynomially many parallel processors. However, such a parallel algorithm is unknown for linear matroid matching, which generalizes both of these problems. In this work, we propose a quasi-NC algorithm for fractional linear matroid matching, which is a relaxation of linear matroid matching and commonly generalizes fractional matching and linear matroid intersection. Our algorithm builds upon the connection of fractional matroid matching to non-commutative Edmonds' problem recently revealed by Oki and Soma (2023). Emotions may be expressed in many different ways, making automatic affect recognition challenging. Several industries may benefit from this technology, including audiovisual search and human- machine interface. Recently, neural networks have been developed to assess emotional states with unprecedented accuracy. We provide an approach to emotion identification that makes use of both visual and aural signals. It's crucial to isolate relevant features in order to accurately represent the nuanced emotions conveyed in a wide range of speech patterns. We do this by using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to parse the audio track for feature extraction and a 50-layer deep ResNet to process the visual track. Machine learning algorithms, in addition to needing to extract the characteristics, should also be robust against outliers and reflective of their surroundings. To solve this problem, LSTM networks are used. We train the system from the ground up, using the RECOLA datasets from the AVEC 2016 emotion recognition research challenge, and we demonstrate that our method is superior to prior approaches that relied on manually constructed aural and visual cues for identifying genuine emotional states. It has been demonstrated that the visual modality predicts valence more accurately than arousal. The best results for the valence dimension from the RECOLA dataset are shown in Table III below. © 2023 IEEE.

A deep learning-based approach for detection of lung cancer using self adaptive sea lion optimization algorithm (SA-SLnO)

The main intent of this paper is to design and implement a novel methodology for lung cancer prediction using the patient's health record. Feature extraction is performed using two well-performing approaches like principal component analysis (PCA) and t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE). As an innovative contribution, a novel optimized correlation-based weighted feature extraction method named as self adaptive sea lion optimization algorithm (SA-SLnO) has been proposed that uses the latest meta-heuristic algorithm to optimize the weights. The number of hidden neurons in RNN is optimized by the proposed SA-SLnO. The major objective of this proposed lung cancer diagnosis model is to minimize the MSE among the actual and predicted outputs. The experimental findings demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms existing methodologies in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, and precision, FPR, FNR, and F1-score. Experimental finding demonstrates that proposed work outperforms PSO-RNN, GWO-RNN, GSO-RNN, and SLnO-RNN in terms of accuracy by 1.7 percent, 2%, 5%, and 2.7%, respectively. Similarly, the proposed lung cancer diagnosis model performed better when all performance metrics are examined on two datasets. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

This paper presents a low-power, battery-less biopotential-recording integrated circuit (IC) designed for implantable leadless cardiac monitoring applications, addressing the full autonomy based on wireless energy harvesting and closed-loop control. A key technical feature is the closed-loop capability with integration of a dual-band radio frequency (RF) energy harvester and communication system utilizing industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) bands at 40.68 MHz for downlink and 915 MHz for uplink, ensuring efficient wireless power transfer and robust bi-directional data communication. The RF harvester achieves a peak conversion efficiency exceeding 40%, a critical design challenge in maintaining consistent performance under variable power conditions. Also, proposed IC overcomes the need for a local oscillator by utilizing an externally provided clock, reducing system complexity and power consumption. Operating with a clock frequency of 100 kHz, the IC consumes only 8.8 μW, a major achievement in energy efficiency for wireless, battery-less systems. Fabricated in a 180 nm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) process, the IC successfully demonstrates cardiac signal measurement and heart rate extraction under a fully battery-less environment with air medium, providing a promising solution for next-generation leadless cardiac monitoring systems. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

The early identification of plant diseases is crucial for preventing the loss of crop production. Recently, the advancement of deep learning has significantly improved the identification of plant leaf diseases. However, most approaches depend on a single convolutional neural network (CNN) to extract the leaf features, ignoring the opportunity to take full advantage of the feature richness available in the images. This paper explores a novel CNN model with multiple automated feature extractors, namely, dense fusion CNN (DFNet), for classifying plant leaf diseases. DFNet aims to increase the diversity of extracted features in order to improve discrimination. Instead of using a single-CNN model, DFNet relies on a double-pretrained CNN model, MobileNetV2 and NASNetMobile, as the feature extractor. The features extracted from each CNN are fused in the fusion layer using a fully connected network. The proposed method was evaluated using corn (Zea mays L.) and coffee (Coffea canephora) leaf disease datasets and compared to the existing models. The experiment showed that DFNet is superior and consistent to other CNN methods by achieving an accuracy of 97.53% for corn leaf diseases and 94.65% for coffee leaf diseases. © 2023 The Authors. In this research, detection of steel defects is a significant use of computer vision that can enhance industrial quality control. New prospects for automated defect segmentation are presented by recent developments in deep learning. This paper investigated the use of attention processes in a U-Net convolutional neural network architecture for improved steel flaw identification. Images of steel and matching defect masks from the Severstal Steel Defect Detection dataset were used to train the U-Net network. Preprocessing actions such as image rotation and scaling were performed in addition to data augmentation. When tweaked at various probability thresholds, the model produced defect mask predictions on a test set with good accuracy. When compared to ground truth masks, qualitative results showed that different defect types could be segmented well. Forecasts on fresh test pictures without any masks provided also shown a believable ability to identify flaws. According to this research, deep learning using attention blocks and U-Nets has the potential to improve automation in tasks related to semantic segmentation, such as steel inspection. To assess the model's efficacy on other defect types and steel materials, more work is required. The code and trained model serve as a basis for creating systems that are ready for production. © 2024 IEEE.

A workflow based approach for task scheduling in cloud environment

A Cloud computing environment provides a huge repository of computing resources which can be utilized for executing user tasks over the Internet. One of the challenges in such a computing paradigm is the optimal use of resources both from the cloud provider as well as consumer's point of view. Techniques have been developed to execute tasks with different level of complexity and size by assigning the tasks to the available resource pool which may span over a large geographical area. In this paper, we suggested a workflow approach to execute large number of interdependent tasks using a set of computing resources with heterogeneous capacity. The objective of this work is to allocate the tasks in such a way that the total time required to complete is minimized. The proposed technique is an extension of max–min algorithm applied on a Directed Acyclic Graph representing a set of interdependent tasks. The technique has been tested on standard scientific workflows and the results are found to be better compared to other similar works in terms of makespan. © 2021
