In this work, a guard array termination structure using hydrogen plasma technology (H-GAT) was proposed for multi-kV AlGaN/GaN heterojunction Schottky barrier diodes. A highest breakdown voltage (BV) of 9.5 kV, a specific on-resistance (RON) of 97Ω·mm, and a capacitance at zero bias (Cj0) of 4.2 pF/mm were achieved on p-GaN/AlGaN/GaN-on-SiC platform. The fabrication process using hydrogen plasma termination was simple and easy to implement compared with other technologies used in multi-kV devices. This work provides an effective alternative route for the future development of low-cost, high-voltage 10 kV-class GaN power electronics. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

A Cross-Domain Ontology Semantic Representation Based on NCBI-BlueBERT Embedding

A common but critical task in biological ontologies data analysis is to compare the difference between ontologies. There have been numerous ontologybased semantic-similarity measures proposed in specific ontology domain, but it still remains a challenge for crossdomain ontologies comparison. An ontology contains the scientific natural language description for the corresponding biological aspect. Therefore, we develop a new method based on natural language processing(NLP) representation model bidirectional encoder representations from transformers(BERT) for cross-domain semantic representation of biological ontologies. This article uses the BERT model to represent the word-level of the ontologies as a set of vectors, facilitating the semantic analysis or comparing the biomedical entities named in an ontology or associated with ontology terms. We evaluated the ability of our method in two experiments: calculating similarities of pair-wise disease ontology and human phenotype ontology terms and predicting the pair-wise of proteins interaction. The experimental results demonstrated the comparative performance. This gives promise to the development of NLP methods in biological data analysis.

User Task Priority Based Resource Allocation with Multi Class Task Scheduling Strategy and Load Balancing in Cloud Environment

An effective task scheduling method can accommodate user needs, boost resource usage, and boost cloud computing's overall efficiency. However, the unchanging task needs are generally the focus of grid computing's job scheduling, leading to low resource usage. Distributing the dynamic user tasks fairly among all cloud nodes is the goal of load balancing, a relatively new field of study. The primary difficulty with cloud computing is load balancing. By making better use of available resources, load balancing methods improve cloud performance. Load balancing primary goal is to lessen the burden on the environment by cutting down on energy use and carbon emissions. The most crucial characteristics that can both satisfy user needs and maximize resource utilization are used to determine the order of priorities. Existing systems often ignore user priority suggestions in favor of optimal scheduling to improve load balancing. Scheduling that takes into account user-guided priorities uses a data-driven strategy, which helps improve load balancing. Scheduling algorithms that take user priorities into account can optimize load distribution more effectively. The primary objective of this research is to provide a priority based randomized load balancing technique that assigns tasks to virtual machines in a random fashion based on criteria such as the number of users, the amount of time the task takes to run, the type of software being used, the cost of the software, and the amount of available resources. This method maximizes system performance by decreasing response time and resource consumption while increasing metrics like fault tolerance and scalability. This system for scheduling tasks not only accommodates user needs but also achieves excellent resource usage. In this paper, an efficient resource allocation scheme-based nonlinear energy harvesting (EH) Timeslot switching (TS) for single-input-single-output (SISO) SWIPT systems-(ERAS-NETS) is presented. The energy saturation characteristic is considered in the EH model where point-to-point (P2P) single-input single-output (P2P-SISO) SWIPT system is studied. Harvesting energy is based on Timeslot switching (TS) aiming at optimizing the average data rate where the TS ratio is a binary value (0 or 1). Hence, the problem is a nonconvex optimization problem because of the binary factor of the TS ratio. The optimization problem is solved using the Lagrange dual theorem that states that the optimal values of the Primal (P) and Dual (D) linear problem are the same if either solution is a basic feasible solution. Accordingly, the derivation of the optimal solution helps receiver to switch either to EH or information decoding (ID) based on the SNR value. Hence, the receiver will switch to EH in the districts having medium values of SNR, otherwise, the receiver will switch to ID in districts having SNR less than 5 dB or more than 25 dB. Different network performance metrics were considered in evaluating the proposed ERAS-NETS scheme in comparison with traditional state-in-the-art TS resource allocation schemes such as transmission power, distance between source and destination, pathloss exponent, and minimum required harvested energy. Simulations showed that ERAS-NETS improves energy efficiency with respect to different transmission power by 20%, 10%, and 3 % for high SNR, medium SNR, and low SNR districts, respectively. Improvement with respect to average energy efficiency versus other system performance metrics has also been noted for the proposed scheme. © 2023 IEEE.

Neural Machine Translation is already used for Indonesian informal to formal style transfer. It works by translating the input language to the target language. In Indonesian informal-to-formal style transfer task, informal sentence work as an input language, and formal sentence is the target the model needs to translate to. Currently, the STIF parallel dataset is the only manually labelled informal-to-formal dataset. We need sufficient data to achieve a good model for style transfer performance. In contrast, the current Indonesian informal to formal dataset is insufficient. We adopted the pre-train augmentation architecture introduced by work done in GEC tasks to elevate the Low-Resource data. We create the augmented dataset with a simpler word replacement approach. We benchmark several transformer-based pre-trained model architectures, including BART, GPT2, and BERT Encoder Decoder. We train the augmented dataset to all models as a pre-trained model and fine-tune it with the STIF dataset. We perform the sacreBLEU benchmarking techniques to find which approach with better style transfer quality. The result is the BART model that was pre-trained with an augmented dataset and fine-tuned with the STIF dataset with a score of sacreBLEU 53,19. © 2023 IEEE.

Digital Twins, sophisticated digital replicas of physical entities, have been gaining significant attention, especially after NASA's endorsement, and are poised to revolutionize numerous fields, such as medicine and construction. These advanced models offer dynamic, real-time simulations, leveraging enabling technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, cloud computing, and Big Data analytics to enhance their functionality and applicability. In the medical field, Digital Twins facilitate personalized treatment plans and predictive maintenance of medical equipment by simulating human organs with precision. In construction, they enable efficient building design and urban planning, optimizing resource use, and reducing costs through predictive maintenance. Startups are innovatively employing Digital Twins in various sectors, from smart cities - where they optimize traffic flow, energy consumption, and waste management - to industrial machinery, ensuring predictive maintenance and minimizing downtime. This survey delves into the diverse use cases, market potential, and challenges of Digital Twins, such as data security and interoperability, while emphasizing their transformative impact on industries. These days, spectrum insufficiency is the most common issue. If the number of smartphone users who access the radio spectrum grows, the radio spectrum becomes increasingly scarce. Certain types of technology equipment are designed to work only within a specific spectrum range, and there is rivalry in specifications for various other applications. As a result, this paper effectively exploits a licensed user’s unused spectrum to reduce the crowded spectrum and eradicate the Radio spectrum shortage. Licensed primary users (PUs) and secondary users (SUs) would be accepted into a Fusion Centre (FC) based on a spectrum framework with authentication. The approved PUs begin by updating their information to FC1;thenceforth, encryption is performed on the information uploaded to FC1. This information from FC1 is stored in Cloud Storage after encryption using the Blowfish algorithm & De-oxy DNA, a fast encryption algorithm. Following that, FC2, connected to the same cloud environment, downloads the PU data uploaded. The spectrum is then allocated to the authenticated SU linked to FC2 based on signal conditions and priority. This proposed method also avoids any delay in the network and encryption by acquiring a fast encryption algorithm, making the system faster and avoiding the Primary User Emulation (PUE) attack. Later, the time taken for the Tiny Encryption Algorithm (TEA) and the Blowfish/DNA algorithm are compared to validate the run time for different input images. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Osteoporosis (OP) is an osteometabolic disorder characterized by a lesser bone mineral density (BMD) and the disruption of bone tissue micro—architecture, resulting in a greater bone fragility and higher likelihoods of fractures. OP emerges once the bone mass declines faster than the body's capacity to replenish it, leading to a significant reduction in the strength of bone. OP impacts each and every bone throughout the body and provides no clinical signs until a fracture happens. Aging leads to the reduction in BMD, and the rate of percentage of fractures rises over time, usually causing mortality and morbidity. Numerous BMD evaluation methods are available, and they are used in a variety of settings by considering the location of the fracture. Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA/DXA) is recognized as the gold standard for predicting the fracture, since it is the most advanced, technologically affirmed, and also has excellent performance. According to the findings, most researchers do not endeavour the identification and the segmentation of low bone masses from DEXA images. Medical image segmentation supports in analyzing and visualizing the bone's low bone mass. The envisaged hybrid approach, that integrates GLCM for feature extraction and AlexNet for a low bone mass variation classification, provides segmented images that assist in categorizing bone health as normal, osteopenia, or osteoporosis. The developed algorithm's performance metrics, including Dice Co-efficient, Sensitivity, and Specificity, were 92.35, 90.26, and 92.42%, respectively.
