The adoption of solar-powered water pumping system in agriculture has been helpful due to its potential to mitigate energy costs and reduce carbon emissions. However, the conventional control mechanisms lack real-time monitoring and optimization capabilities, leading to suboptimal performance and energy wastage. This research adopts an advanced Internet of Things (IoT)-based approach for controlling solar water pumps, aiming to improve efficiency and sustainability in agricultural water management. The IoT-based solar water pump controller integrates sensors to collect data that is based on real time readings of biotic factors such as sunlight, soil moisture levels and water flow rates. This data is transmitted wirelessly to a central control unit, which employs advanced algorithms to dynamically adjust pump operation parameters, including speed and timing, to match the varying irrigation requirements of crops. Moreover, the system incorporates predictive analytics to anticipate future water demand based on crop growth stages and weather forecasts, enabling proactive adjustments to optimize water usage. © 2025 the Author(s).

Soil erosion is considered to be a prominent problem, and its regular spatial assessment in the watershed is required. Thus, for the present study, the Kodar river basin in Chhattisgarh, India, was chosen for the investigation. Three different models, namely Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE), and Unit Power-Based Soil Erosion and Deposition (USPED), were chosen by incorporating remote sensing and GIS platforms and their performance were compared. On the basis of area’s varied slope and land usage, the erosion rate was calculated. It was noted that a difference of 33,68632 t, −11570.08 t, and 1023.99 t in the sedimentation values of the USLE, RUSLE, and USPED models, respectively were observed. The observed sedimentation data was validated, and the USPED model was found to be the most authentic model among the selected three models. Hence, the present study will be helpful in better understanding of the complex interactions of the variables involved in predicting net erosion of soil. © 2024 Indian Society for Hydraulics.

Optimization of a Circularly Polarized Conical Beam Microstrip Patch Antenna Array Conformed on a Cylindrical Surface Using HFSS

When a planar microstrip patch antenna is conformed to any non-planar surface (e.g., aircraft, missiles etc.), the curvature of the host surface affects its design parameters, which in turn affects its radiation performance. Therefore, achieving a target radiation performance with a planar antenna on a non-planar host surface is always a big challenge for an antenna designer. To address this issue, a report on an electromagnetic simulation-based method to optimize a planar-shaped microstrip antenna array conformed to a cylindrical surface is presented here. HFSS was used to investigate the role of different design parameters of the antenna array in the planar and cylindrical planes (for different radius of curvature). Finally, using these simulation observations, the dimensions of the planar antenna conformed to a cylindrical surface (with a radius of curvature of 110 mm) were optimized to achieve a target output performance (in terms of gain, return loss, and VSWR) while retaining its radiation pattern geometry as well as polarization characteristics. A planar 2 × 2 circularly polarized antenna array with a conical beam pattern from the published literature was used to carry out the current work. Steganalysis is the process of identifying the "covered writing" in such a way that the mutation of an image is not discernible. The paper discusses the steganalysis processes on two image formats: a Lossless Bitmap image file (BMP) and a lossy compression technique web picture (WebP). The main aim of this paper is to attack and analyze the web picture (WebP) file formats against BMP. The file format WebP discussed in this research is mostly supported in web browsers and mobile phones and it is widely used nowadays to reduce the storage capacity of the webpages. The least significant bit (LSB) of the pixels is measured to hide the text on the WebP and BMP formats and the performance is measured using different metrics. In this paper, a highly isolated multiband metamaterial loaded MIMO antenna with wide bandwidth, compact structure is proposed for mmWave range applications. The MIMO antenna (referred as E-MIMO) comprises of a metamaterial loaded antenna elements (called as ENGpatch) which are designed by placing an (newly designed) epsilon negative unit cell at the center of a slotted square patch antenna, designed on 0.4mm thick Rogers 5880 substrate. The E-MIMO antenna is optimized such that without using any additional isolation enhancement techniques, it covers a wide range of frequencies from 23.2GHz to 30.64 GHz and 37.5-43.75GHz with a very high isolation of S12>20dB, for the both resonating bandwidths of 7.44 GHz and 6.25GHz, respectively. Obesity is a significant health concern linked to severe medical conditions. Obesity increases the risk of diabetes, thyroid issues, cardiac disease, liver tumors, and stroke. Early prediction of obesity risk is essential for improving public health and well-being. To address this, an optimized explain-able CatBoost model, referred to as OptiX-CatBoost, has been developed. Initially, various machine learning (ML) models are trained using the publicly available dhaka obesity dataset. Among these, the categorical boosting (CatBoost) model emerged as the top performer and is selected for optimization. Bayesian optimization is employed to fine-tune key hyperparameters of the CatBoost model, enhancing its performance. The experimental results demonstrated that the OptiX-CatBoost model outperformed existing methods, achieving an accuracy of 95.60%, a precision of 94.60%, a recall of 93.12%, an F1-score of 98.15%, a Jaccard score of 96.14%, and a Kappa score of 87.14%. Additionally, the predictions made by the proposed model are further analyzed using explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques. Healthcare professionals can evaluate the predictions of the proposed model and learn more about the different factors driving obesity by using XAI techniques such as partial dependence graphs, permutation significance, and LIME (Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations). This dual capability of accurate prediction and interpretability renders OptiX-CatBoost a valuable tool for early obesity risk assessment, ultimately aiding in the development of better public health strategies and interventions. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel approach for air pollution monitoring using Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) with unique optical properties. Through Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations in COMSOL, the study explores how the PCF's guiding characteristics are influenced by its geometric parameters at different wavelengths. The sensor, designed for enhanced sensitivity, selectivity, and fast response, focuses on detecting air pollutants. A microstructured core in the PCF enhances light-matter interaction, improving sensor performance. The optimized PCF structure ensures effective light confinement, enabling precise detection of environmental changes like temperature and refractive index variations. Memories form a very large part of VLSI circuits. A significant portion of VLSI circuits are made of memories. The design of memory systems aims to store enormous volumes of data. "MBIST" refers to Memory Built-In Self-Test. It’s a technique used in integrated circuit design and testing to confirm the performance and operation of embedded memory blocks. In this project design a area efficient MBIST using mixed algorithm which has a combine features of checkerboard and march c algorithm which usually covers all the memory related faults. In comparison to the checkerboard algorithm based MBIST, we were able to reduce area by 70% using our approach and also achieve enormous performance based on essential experiments on 90nm technology. Whereas Synthesis and simulation is done in Xilinx ISE and Modelism and Verilog HDL is used to implement the Mixed algorithm. © 2025 the Author(s).

This paper investigates the antenna type for the usage of 'Signal Horns' as an alternative to 'Sound Horns', that involves V2V communication. The system mainly incorporates an alert system for overtaking that involves lane detection and machine learning techniques to detect the nearest plying vehicle and then with that frequency locking is done, After that, by modifying the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), these horns are designed to receive and send signals among the vehicles using a Microstrip Patch Antenna of the specified. For this proposed system, the Microstrip Patch Antenna fixed in the ECU send and receives signals from one vehicle to another. The design and analysis of two different designs of microstrip patch antenna that is used to send and receive signal horns. Two antenna types were taken, such as E-shaped and circular type, whose results have been analyzed and according to the requirement of the system, with their results being compared, the more advantageous one is designed. aiming to reduce the mentioned risks by adopting proper technologies. In such a way, the E-shaped microstrip patch antenna was designed using MATLAB SIMULINK and their results were interpreted. The gain was found to be and VSWR was obtained to be 1. © 2024 IEEE.
