Toward Big-data Sharing: A Unified Trusted Remote Attestation Scheme based on Blockchain

The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) has brought forth new challenges and opportunities in securely managing and sharing vast amounts of data generated by connected devices. Blockchain technology, with its decentralization, tamper-resistance, and traceability, offers a promising framework for IoT data sharing but struggles to safeguard smart contracts and sensitive data. Integrating Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) with blockchain addresses these concerns, enabling secure execution and communication via remote attestation. However, existing remote attestation methods face challenges, including incompatibility across heterogeneous TEEs, inefficiency under frequent authentication, and vulnerability to DoS attacks. To tackle these, we propose a blockchain-based unified remote attestation scheme for IoT. Our three-tier blockchain architecture–comprising a Certificate Authority (CA) channel, an authoritative channel, and a business channel–separates authentication, attestation, and operations while ensuring auditability. An abstraction layer supports heterogeneous TEEs, and an authoritative blockchain stores authentication reports, enabling secure, frequent attestations. Additionally, a distributed CA system enhances resilience to DoS attacks. Experimental results validate our scheme’s efficiency and security, offering a robust solution for IoT data sharing. © 2014 IEEE.

Proxy re-encryption plays an important role for data security in cloud computing and big data, but the traditional reencryption scheme based on the classical number theory problem cannot resist quantum attack, and the lattice based cryptosystem has been proved to have the ability to resist quantum attack, so the lattice based re-encryption scheme has always been a research hotspot. In view of the problem that collusion-resistance and multi-hop can not be satisfied at the same time in existing schemes, this paper proposes a new identity-based proxy re-encryption scheme on lattice. Firstly, the scheme uses trapdoors as private keys to achieve one-way anti-collusion. In addition, we constructs a variant of learning with errors (LWE), which uses a convert algorithm to transform the user matrix and replace the vector with a uniform matrix, so that the scheme can meet the requirements of multi-hop and encrypt multiple bits of messages at one time. Theoretical analysis and experimental simulation prove that the security of the new scheme can be reduced to a decision LWE problem, which can reach the IND-sID-CPA security in the standard model, and can improve the encryption efficiency while ensuring the security. © 2023 SPIE.

For accurately identifying the distribution charac-teristic of Gaussian-like noises in unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)state estimation,this paper proposes a non-parametric scheme based on curve similarity *** the framework of the pro-posed scheme,a Parzen window(kernel density estimation,KDE)method on sliding window technology is applied for roughly esti-mating the sample probability density,a precise data probability density function(PDF)model is constructed with the least square method on K-fold cross validation,and the testing result based on evaluation method is obtained based on some data characteristic analyses of curve shape,abruptness and *** com-parison simulations with classical methods and UAV flight exper-iment shows that the proposed scheme has higher recognition accuracy than classical methods for some kinds of Gaussian-like data,which provides better reference for the design of Kalman filter(KF)in complex water environment.

As data dimensions continue to increase, the challenges of data storage become more severe. While feature selection can reduce the complexity of high-dimensional data, existing methods are prone to local optima and high computational costs. To address these issues, this paper proposes a hybrid feature selection method based on MOPSO (Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization). This method first uses a filter approach to narrow the search space, then employs a particle swarm algorithm to generate particles, incorporating mutation, crossover, and selection strategies during particle updates to enhance their search capabilities. Additionally, an archive set is established, utilizing grid-based and density-based methods during the update process to avoid local optima. Finally, the proposed method is compared with two single-objective optimization methods and two multi-objective optimization methods on multiple datasets. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method significantly reduces classification error rates and effectively reduces the number of features, providing an efficient solution for feature selection in high-dimensional data and addressing the challenges in high-dimensional data analysis. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Understanding and improving fairness in cognitive diagnosis

Intelligent education is a significant application of artificial intelligence. One of the key research topics in intelligence education is cognitive diagnosis, which aims to gauge the level of proficiency among students on specific knowledge concepts(e.g., Geometry). To the best of our knowledge, most of the existing cognitive models primarily focus on improving diagnostic accuracy while rarely considering fairness issues; for instance, the diagnosis of students may be affected by various sensitive attributes(e.g., region). In this paper,we aim to explore fairness in cognitive diagnosis and answer two questions:(1) Are the results of existing cognitive diagnosis models affected by sensitive attributes?(2) If yes, how can we mitigate the impact of sensitive attributes to ensure fair diagnosis results? To this end, we first empirically reveal that several wellknown cognitive diagnosis methods usually lead to unfair performances, and the trend of unfairness varies among different cognitive diagnosis models. Then, we make a theoretical analysis to explain the reasons behind this phenomenon. To resolve the unfairness problem in existing cognitive diagnosis models, we propose a general fairness-aware cognitive diagnosis framework, FairCD. Our fundamental principle involves eliminating the effect of sensitive attributes on student proficiency. To achieve this, we divide student proficiency in existing cognitive diagnosis models into two components: bias proficiency and fair *** design two orthogonal tasks for each of them to ensure that fairness in proficiency remains independent of sensitive attributes and take it as the final diagnosed result. Extensive experiments on the Program for International Student Assessment(PISA) dataset clearly show the effectiveness of our framework.

Nature-inspired population-based stochastic search algorithms (SSA) have demonstrated effectiveness in solving many real-world dynamic optimization problems (DOPs), such as dynamic optimal power flow (DOPF) problems. The basic idea of solving DOPs using SSAs is to 'track the moving optima', rather than solving the changed problems from scratch. Its hidden assumption is that the problems are slightly changed in general, and it is expected that the search process can be accelerated by learning from past search experiences. However, the hidden assumption that the current search process can always benefit from previous search experiences might not be true for certain cases. For example, if the current problem is not similar to any of its previous problems, the historical solutions might not be helpful for the current search. To reduce such negative transfer, the following issues are worthy of study: how to choose which historical problems to learn from, and how to determine the degree of learning from historical problems. To solve the above problems, we propose a dynamic processing framework based on fuzzy rules from the perspective of incorporating human knowledge for optima tracking. The experimental results on the DOPF problems show that the SSA with the proposed optima tracking strategy outperforms other comparative algorithms. The rapid development of multi-modal large language models (MLLMs) has positioned visual storytelling as a crucial area in content creation. However, existing models often struggle to maintain temporal, spatial, and narrative coherence across image sequences and frequently lack the depth and engagement of human-authored stories. To address these challenges, we propose Story with Large Language and Vision Assistant (StoryLLaVA), a novel framework for enhancing visual storytelling. Our approach introduces a Topic-Driven Narrative Optimizer (TDNO) that improves both the training data and MLLM models by integrating image descriptions, topic generation, and GPT-4-based refinements. Furthermore, we employ a preference-based ranked story sampling method that aligns model outputs with human storytelling preferences through positive-negative pairing. These two phases of the framework differ in their training methods: the former uses supervised fine-tuning, while the latter incorporates reinforcement learning with positive and negative sample pairs. Experimental results demonstrate that StoryLLaVA outperforms current models in visual relevance, coherence, and fluency, with LLM-based evaluations confirming the generation of richer and more engaging narratives. Different from the traditional FMCW radar signal processing method, this paper mainly explores the application of the time-frequency analysis method of the reflected intermediate frequency of millimeter wave radar in fretting detection. The radar echo data are analyzed by FFT, wavelet transform and Hilbert yellow transform. This topic mainly uses human gesture targets as the micromotion feature to detect. Under the three designed gestures, the time-frequency analysis method proposed in this topic combined with a convolutional neural network achieves a high recognition success rate. The motion detection technology proposed in this paper can be applied to millimeter wave radar under THE FMCW system. It can detect and classify tiny motions under complex backgrounds and show good recognition ability under strong interference. It can be used in medical treatment, automobile and other fields to play the role of accurate identification. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, with the rapid development of drone photography technology, drones have emerged as a new method for photography and observation. We have applied object detection technology to drone photography and proposed a YOLO-style 2D object detection network called YOLOvis based on the YOLOv8 architecture. We introduced the PatchFPN structure to improve the network's robustness in detecting small objects and proposed the TranConcat structure to scale features for enhanced usability. YOLOvis utilizes the challenging VisDrone data set as the model's task data set. With a slight increase in computational cost, the model achieves an accuracy of mAP50 33.7%, which is a 3.7% improvement compared to YOLOv8 of the same size and a 17.0% improvement compared to YOLOv5 of the same size. Additionally, to better tailor the model to specific needs, we have proposed YOLOvis models of different sizes. The code and pretrained models are in https://***/BarryGUN/bgyolo_v8_***. © 2024 SPIE.
