Frontogenesis and Frontolysis of a Cold Filament Driven by the Cross-Filament Wind and Wave Fields Simulated by a Large Eddy Simulation

The variations of the frontogenetic trend of a cold filament induced by the cross-filament wind and wave fields are studied by a non-hydrostatic large eddy simulation. Five cases with different strengths of wind and wave fields are *** results show that the intense wind and wave fields further break the symmetries of submesoscale flow fields and suppress the levels of filament frontogenesis. The changes of secondary circulation directions—that is, the conversion between the convergence and divergence of the surface cross-filament currents with the downwelling and upwelling jets in the filament center—are associated with the inertial oscillation. The filament frontogenesis and frontolysis caused by the changes of secondary circulation directions may periodically sharpen and smooth the gradient of submesoscale flow *** lifecycle of the cold filament may include multiple stages of filament frontogenesis and frontolysis.

An efficient and scalable graph database with built-in temporal support

Real-world graphs are often dynamic and evolve over time. It is crucial for storing and querying a graph’s evolution in graph databases. However, existing works either suffer from high storage overhead or lack efficient temporal query support, or both. In this paper, we propose $$\textsf {AeonG}$$ , a new graph database with built-in temporal support. Based on a novel temporal graph model, we build $$\textsf {AeonG}$$ with a hybrid storage engine and an efficient temporal query engine. The storage engine consists of current storage to manage the most recent versions of graph objects, and historical storage to manage previous versions. This separation minimizes the performance degradation when querying the most recent graph object versions. To reduce the historical storage overhead, we propose an anchor+delta strategy, in which we periodically create a complete version (namely anchor) of a graph object, and maintain every change (namely delta) between two adjacent anchors of the same object. In the query engine, we propose an anchor-based version retrieval technique to skip unnecessary historical version traversals to boost temporal query processing. Further, we extend $$\textsf {AeonG}$$ into a cloud-native database with disaggregated compute and storage layers, thus enabling elastic and scalable management of temporal graph data. Extensive experiments are conducted on both real and synthetic datasets. The results show that $$\textsf {AeonG}$$ achieves up to 5.73 $$\times $$ lower storage consumption and 2.57 $$\times $$ lower temporal query latency against state-of-the-art approaches, while introducing only 9.74% performance degradation for supporting temporal features.

To ensure the security of image information and facilitate efficient management in the cloud, the utilization of reversible data hiding in encrypted images (RDHEI) has emerged as pivotal. However, most existing RDHEI schemes suffer from lower security and limited embedding capacity. To tackle these challenges, we propose a reversible data hiding with secret encrypted image sharing and adaptive coding scheme. Specifically, in the encryption phase, we introduce an improved secret sharing (SS) encryption method based on the chinese remainder theorem for polynomials (CRTP). This method not only improves the security of encrypted images but also vacates a larger room for embedding. In the embedding phase, we introduce an adaptive coding embedding approach using XOR preservation (XORP) and huffman coding, which provides high embedding capacity. Experimental results and security analysis demonstrate that our proposed encryption method achieves optimal values in security indicators for encrypted images, such as information entropy, histograms, NPCR and UACI. The proposed embedding method is superior to some state-of-the-art schemes in terms of embedding capacity. Furthermore, in datasets BOSSBase and BOWS2, the average embedding rates of the proposed embedding approach can reach 2.1745 bpp and 2.0656 bpp, respectively. © 2025 IEEE.

The introduction of the electronic medical record(EHR)sharing system has made a great contribution to the management and sharing of healthcare *** referral treatment for patients,the original signature needs to be converted into a re-signature that can be verified by the new *** re-signature(PRS)can be applied to this scenario so that authenticity and nonrepudiation can still be insured for ***,the existing PRS schemes cannot realize forward and backward ***,this paper proposes the first PRS scheme that can provide key-insulated property,which can guarantee both the forward and backward security of the *** the leakage of the private key occurs at a certain moment,the forward and backward key will not be ***,the purpose of key insulation is ***’s more,it can update different corresponding private keys in infinite time periods without changing the identity information of the user as the public ***,the unforgeability of our scheme is proved based on the extended Computational Diffie-Hellman assumption in the random oracle ***,the experimental simulation demonstrates that our scheme is feasible and in possession of promising properties.

Community detection algorithms are able to mine and analyze community structures, which plays an important part in practical applications. However, for the purpose of privacy protection, some communities do not want to be mined and analyzed. For this reason, researchers introduced the community deception, which aims to destroy the effectiveness of community detection algorithms for the purpose of privacy protection. In this paper, we propose an Elite Population Co-evolutionary Genetic (EPCG) algorithm for global community deception, in which we design two different fitness functions based on Normalized Mutual information (NMI) and elite population coevolution mechanisms respectively. Extensive experiments are conducted on four real networks against three classical community detection algorithms. The results validate that our method is outperforming the baseline method. © 2023 ACM.

Aiming at optimizing the energy consumption of HVAC,an energy conservation optimization method was proposed for HVAC systems based on the sensitivity analysis(SA),named the sensitivity analysis combination method(SAC).Based on the SA,neural network and the related settings about energy conservation of HVAC systems,such as cooling water temperature,chilled water temperature and supply air temperature,were ***,based on the data of the existing HVAC system,various optimal control methods ofHVAC systems were tested and evaluated by a simulated HVAC system in *** results show that the proposed SA combination method can reduce significant computational load while maintaining an equivalent energy performance compared with traditional optimal control methods.

In this paper, we introduce a simplified long-range (LoRa) backscatter system that enables a lightweight tag to communicate with a remote transceiver using chirp carrier and harmonic backscatter. The key idea is twofold: first, we delegate the chirp waveform generation from the tag to the transceiver, thereby maintaining lightweight tag design;second, we introduce a frequency shift on the tag during its carrier modulation to create harmonic backscatter, thereby mitigating self-interference. To refine the framework, we first detail the system model, including the design for harmonic backscatter. We then present an efficient method to address synchronization and detection issues at the transceiver. Finally, we prototype the proposed system and evaluate its performance. Experimental results demonstrate that in a corridor environment with a carrier power of 0 dBm, the tag can backscatter a signal from the transceiver at a maximum bit rate of 4 kb/s over a distance of 50 meters. © 2024 IEEE.
