Multispectral radiation thermometry approach based on feasible region constraints-divide and conquer optimization

Multispectral radiation thermometry is a widely used non-contact temperature measurement method, particularly in extreme environments. However, accurately retrieving the true temperature remains challenging due to the unknown emissivity of the object. This paper proposes a collaborative optimization approach (feasible region constraints-divide and conquer optimization), which combines a feasible domain constraints method (PCR-PSO) with a divide and conquer optimization algorithm (multi-BFGS). Simulation results show that the proposed approach reduces the temperature inversion error from 0.59% to 0.19% compared to the traditional BFGS algorithm. Experimental results obtained with stainless steel samples indicate an average error of less than 0.2% and an average processing time of 0.2 seconds, highlighting the potential for real-time temperature measurement in engineering applications. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.

The economic load dispatch (ELD) in the power system is to reasonably allocate the output power of each generating unit under the premise of satisfying the operation constraints and the balance of supply and demand, so as to optimize the total cost of power generation as the objective function. Taking the system power balance and the upper limits and lower limits of generator output as constraints in the ELD problem, its mathematical model was established. A differential evolution (DE) algorithm based on different strategies is proposed to solve the ELD problem. Aiming at three ELD examples, the most suitable differential evolution strategy for the ELD problems was found through the results of simulation experiments. Under the same starting conditions, DE algorithm, particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, genetic algorithm (GA) and simulated annealing (SA) algorithm were used to conduct simulation experiments to verify the superiority of DE algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed DE algorithm has the best performance in solving ELD problems. © 2022. All Rights Reserved.

Thermal locking-based optical parametric oscillation: noise suppression in a WGM cavity

We propose a frequency stabilization system based on thermal locking, utilizing the thermo-optic effect in a whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonator. By coupling the WGM resonator with an ultra-stable laser, low-frequency noise can be stably suppressed. Additionally, through intracavity optical parametric oscillation, this noise suppression is effectively extended to multiple wavelengths, achieving frequency noise levels of 0.71 Hz2/Hz at 10 Hz and 39 Hz2/Hz at 1 Hz. This approach eliminates conventional proportional-integral-derivative feedback loops, bypasses the optoelectronic conversion, and enables low-frequency thermal noise locking entirely within the optical domain. This method streamlines the system architecture, reduces energy consumption, and offers a robust solution for high-precision frequency stabilization across a broad spectral range. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. The future sixth-generation(6G) paradigm aims to seamlessly integrate communication and environmental sensing capabilities into a single radio signal, promising improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness through simultaneous data communications and environmental perception. At the core of this evolution, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) and its advanced waveforms emerge as pivotal for integrated sensing and communications(ISAC). This study introduces a concise and unified ISAC waveform design framework based on orthogonal multicarriers. This framework supports versatile applications of OFDM and its derivative waveforms within a generalized ISAC system, marking a significant leap in integrating communication and sensing capabilities. A distinguishing feature of this framework is its adaptability,allowing users to intelligently select modulation strategies based on their specific environmental needs. This adaptability optimizes performance across diverse scenarios. Central to our innovations is the proposal of discrete Fourier transformspread OFDM with index modulation(DFT-S-OFDM-IM). This framework is paired with newly proposed signal processing methods for single-input single-output and multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems. Extensive evaluations highlight DFT-S-OFDM-IM's superiority, including dramatically reduced peak-to-average power ratios(PAPRs), competitive communication performance, and exceptional sensing capabilities, striking an elegant balance between communication capacity and environmental sensing precision.

Tungsten trioxide(WO_(3))has been widely regarded as a prospective bifunctional material due to its electrochromic and pseudocapacitive properties,while still facing the dilemma of inadequate cycle stability and trapping-induced ***,inspired by the trees-strengthening approach,a unique titanium dioxide(TiO_(2))nanorod arrays strengthened WO_(3)nano-trees(TWNTs)heterojunction was rationally designed and *** sharp contrast to the transmittance modulation(ΔT)attenuation of primary WO_(3)nano-trees during cycling,the TWNTs film showed not only excellent electrochromic performance but also fascinating cycle stability(77.35%retention of the initialΔT after 10,000 cycles).Besides,the trapping-induced degradation could be easily rejuvenated by a potentiostatic de-trapping *** electrochromic energy storage device(EESD)was further assembled based on the TWNTs film to deliver excellentΔT(up to 79.5%at 633 nm),fast switching speed(tc/tb=1.9 s/14.8 s),extremely high coloration efficiency value(443.4 cm^(2)·C^(−1)),and long-term cycle stability(over 10,000 charge/discharge cycles).This innovative study provided in-depth insights into the electrochromism nature and a significant step in the realization of stable electrochromic-energy storage application,paving the way for multifunctional smart windows as well as next-generation optoelectronic devices.

LSTM Neural Network Fault Diagnosis Method for Rolling Bearings Based on information Fusion

The early fault features of rolling bearings are weak and the noise in the working environment is large. If a single feature extraction method is used, it is easy to cause feature loss. A rolling bearing fault diagnosis method based on multiple feature extraction and information fusion was proposed, which effectively avoids the problem of fault feature loss caused by single feature extraction method being vulnerable to external environment and signal characteristics. Firstly, wavelet accumulation energy parameters are calculated by wavelet decomposition, and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) are adopted. EEMD algorithm decomposed the signal and then reduced the dimension to get the characteristic parameters of signals, calculated the time domain performance index to get the time domain characteristic parameters of signals, and then used low variance and Pearson coefficient filtering to reduce the dimension of feature vector so as to facilitate the setting of the neural network classifier. Finally, LSTM neural network is used as rolling bearing fault diagnosis classifier to verify the validity of the proposed method. © (2022), (International Association of Engineers). The micro-Doppler effect captures the fine motion characteristics of maritime targets, serving as a crucial feature for distinguishing between sea clutter and targets, thereby enhancing radar target detection and recognition capabilities. In this study, a long-term radar echo model for micro-motion targets in sea clutter is established using maritime surveillance radar. By analyzing the morphological differences between constant-velocity targets and micro-motion clutter in Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) spectrograms, a sliding window cancellation method based on STFT spectrograms is proposed to remove micro-motion clutter. This method effectively separates target echoes from micro-motion clutter, facilitating the extraction of micro-motion target features. Both simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, laying a theoretical foundation for advancing maritime vessel detection and recognition. © 2025 SPIE.

Strain gauge plays vital roles in various fields as structural health monitoring,aerospace engineering,and civil ***,traditional flexible strain gauge inevitably brings the pseudo-signal caused by the substrate temperature effect and determines its ***,we present an anisotropic composite substrate designed to modify the thermal expansion performance via Micro-electro-mechanical System(MEMS)technology,which facilitates the development of strain gauges that are minimally affected by substrate temperature-induced *** to the isotropic flexible substrate,the simulated expansion displacement in the thermal insensitive direction is reduced by 53.6%via introducing an anisotropic thermal expansion *** developed strain gauge exhibits significantly reduced sensitivity to temperature-induced effect,with a temperature coefficient of resistance decreasing from 87.3%to 10%,along with a notable 47.1%improvement in TCR *** addition,the strain gauge displays a sensitivity of 1.99 and boasts a wide strain operational range of 0-6000μe,while maintaining excellent ***,stress response conducted on a model of an aircraft wing illustrates the rapid monitoring of the strain gauge,which can detect strain as low as 100μ*** study strongly highlights the potential applicability of the developed strain gauge in the aircraft,ships,and bridges for monitoring stress.

For the trajectory tracking problem of a single-joint manipulator system with sensor faults. A fuzzy control system incorporating command filtering and event-triggered technology is devised to enhance system tracking accuracy. The problems of complicated calculation and influence of the filtering errors are solved by the introduction of the finite-time command filters and a compensation mechanism. During the controller design process, fuzzy logic systems are utilized to deal with the unknown functions in the systems. Hence, the suggested control scheme enhances the convenience and flexibility of controller design. Based on the numerical simulation analysis, it is shown that the better tracking performance can be achieved. In conclusion, it is concluded that our strategy is effective. © 2024 IEEE.
