Background: As the pace of life gets faster, and with the development and progress of society and the continuous improvement of people's pursuit of a convenient and comfortable life, it has become a growing desire for people to get rid of tedious housework. Hygienic automatic cleaning has also become the main demand of people. Objective: Through review, analysis, and discussion of the patents on existing floor robot vacuums, it is expected to find out the development process and main outcomes, along with the main technologies involved, and provide a valuable prediction basis for future research and development directions. Methods: This study aimed to summarize a number of representative patents related to floor robot vacuums and their main components and analyze them in depth to study their technical points and development laws. Results: By summarizing a large number of patents on floor robot vacuums and further analyzing and comparing the characteristics of the patents, the future development trend of floor robot vacuums was further discussed. Conclusion: Through a detailed analysis of the mechanical structure, intelligent control technology, and sensor technology of the existing floor robot vacuums as a whole and the main work unit, this study discussed the ideas and methods of improving the new floor robot vacuum, which is of great significance to its operation and more convenient and intelligent. © 2024 Bentham science Publishers.

Modern machining machines are becoming more sophisticated and automated, but the problems of thermal deformation caused by machining have also come to the fore. CNC machine tools are used in high-speed, high-feed rate machining conditions, so the impact of thermal deformation factors will lead to a more prominent loss of accuracy. In this context, the design and manufacture of future CNC machine tools need to take further account of the errors caused by thermal deformation and the accompanying loss of accuracy. The principle of thermal characterisation and thermal error modeling of machine tools is to measure and reasonably analyse the machine tool at different temperature points and make corrections to the analysis data in order to get a value as close as possible to the real value and improve machining accuracy. Several representative patents and studies on thermal characterisation and thermal error modeling of machine tools at home and abroad are reviewed. This study presents a selection and summary of a large number of recent patents and studies on machine tool thermal characterisation and thermal error modeling, focusing on the selection of the machine tool thermal error measurement point area, thermal error modeling methods, spindle thermal displacement compensation, and other aspects, and discusses the future trends in the mainstream methods for reducing the thermal error of machine tools. The analysis and modeling of thermal errors in machine tools have an integral influence on further improvements in machining accuracy and efficiency in the future. © 2024 Bentham science Publishers.

Microparticle manipulation is a critical concern across various felds including microfabrication,flexible electronics and tissue ***-activated sharp structures have been designed as simple and flexible tools to manipulate microparticles with their good compatibility,fast response,and broad ***,there still lacks rational acoustic-structure design for effective energy concentration at the acoustic-activated sharp structures for microparticle ***,we present the acoustic black hole(ABH)effect as enhancement for the acoustic *** provides great reliability,simplicity and ease of use,supporting custom design of high-throughput patterning ***,compared to commonly used configurations,such as cylindrical or conical microneedles,those microneedles with ABH profle exhibit superior acoustic energy focusing at the tip and induce stronger acoustofluidic *** average acoustic flow velocity induced by the ABH microneedle is 154 times greater than that of the conical one and 45 times greater than that of the cylindrical ***,the average acoustic radiation force(ARF)produced by the ABH microneedle against acrylic microparticles is about 319 times greater than that of the cylindrical one and 16 times greater than that of the conical *** results indicate that ABH design significantly enhances microparticle *** demonstrate this concept with ABH effect enhanced microparticle manipulation and study the parameters influencing its performance including operating frequency,operating voltage and particle ***,considering the flexibility of this system,we employ it for various patterning and high-throughput microparticle *** work paves the way for controllable microparticle manipulation,holding great potential for applications in microfabrication and biomedicine.

With the improvement of living standards and the acceleration of the pace of modern life, people pay more and more attention to health. All kinds of ball games are deeply loved by people. Most people like to go to all kinds of equipment halls for all kinds of sports. However, at present, there are few types of service machines, and there is still a lot of room for development. With the development of ball games, small simple serve machine, as important equipment for modern entertainment and sports, has research projects in various countries and occupies a large market share. The purpose of this study is to synthesize the existing pitching mechanism, summarize and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various pitching mechanisms from a large number of documents and patents, and solve some problems with the existing pitching machine. This paper summarizes various patents and the latest research progress on ball-pitching machines. From the mechanical structure of the pitching machine to the functions it can realize, the advantages and disadvantages of the serving machine are analyzed. By summarizing the characteristics of a large number of pitching mechanisms, this paper analyzes some problems existing in the pitching machine and looks forward to the research and design of the pitching machine. Combined with relevant mechanical technology, this paper refers to the patents related to various ball automatic mechanical pitching devices and draws valuable conclusions through the summary and comparison of these patents. © 2024 Bentham science Publishers.

Texture property and weakening mechanism of Mg-3Al-1Zn alloy by interactive alternating forward extrusion

The interactive alternating forward extrusion(AFE) method can realize the change of texture type and the weakening of texture *** AZ31 magnesium alloy as an example, the texture evolution of interactive AFE was studied. The results show that all kinds of dynamic recrystallization(DRX) behaviors can weaken the texture to vary degrees. The weakening effect of twinning-induced recrystallization(TDRX)behavior was particularly significant. During the interactive AFE process, the c-axis of most grains rotated under the external force, and tended to be 90° angle with the ED direction, forming a stable fiber texture. In addition, with the increase of loading passes, the starting of {0001} <11–20> basal slip system became more and more difficult. The(10–10) texture formed by {10–10} <11–20> prismatic slip system after sixth passes was the main texture type. With the increase of forming temperature, the starting ability of {10–10} <11–20>prismatic slip systems increased, and the(10–10) texture formed by prismatic slip system above 623 K dominated.

Optimizing battery deployment: Aging trajectory prediction enabling homogenous performance grouping

As battery deployments in electric vehicles and energy storage systems grow, ensuring homogeneous performance across units is crucial. We propose a multi-derivative imaging fusion(MDIF) model, employing advanced imaging and machine learning to predict battery aging trajectories from minimal initial data, thus facilitating effective performance grouping before deployment. Utilizing a derivative strategy and Gramian Angular Difference Field for dimensional enhancement, the MDIF model uncovers subtle predictive features from discharge curve data after only ten cycles. The architecture includes a parallel convolutional neural network with lateral connections to enhance feature integration and *** on a self-developed dataset, the model achieves an average root-mean-square error of 0.047 Ah and an average mean absolute percentage error of 1.60%, demonstrating high precision and *** robustness is further validated through transfer learning on two publicly available datasets, adapting with minimal retraining. This approach significantly reduces the testing cycles required, lowering both time and costs associated with battery testing. By enabling precise battery behavior predictions with limited data, the MDIF model optimizes battery utilization and deployment strategies, enhancing system efficiency and sustainability.

Data-driven machine learning(ML) is widely employed in the analysis of materials structure-activity relationships,performance optimization and materials design due to its superior ability to reveal latent data patterns and make accurate ***,because of the laborious process of materials data acquisition,ML models encounter the issue of the mismatch between a high dimension of feature space and a small sample size(for traditional ML models) or the mismatch between model parameters and sample size(for deep-learning models),usually resulting in terrible ***,we review the efforts for tackling this issue via feature reduction,sample augmentation and specific ML approaches,and show that the balance between the number of samples and features or model parameters should attract great attention during data quantity *** this,we propose a synergistic data quantity governance flow with the incorporation of materials domain *** summarizing the approaches to incorporating materials domain knowledge into the process of ML,we provide examples of incorporating domain knowledge into governance schemes to demonstrate the advantages of the approach and *** work paves the way for obtaining the required high-quality data to accelerate materials design and discovery based on ML.

WaveCRNet: Wavelet Transform-Guided Learning for Semantic Segmentation in Adverse Railway Scenes

Semantic segmentation is pivotal in autonomous train perception, significantly impacting the system’s intelligence and reliability. However, its performance in railway scenes is hindered by various challenges, including severe weather conditions, low-light situations, tunnel settings, and diverse and dynamic unstructured scenes. To address these challenges, this study proposes WaveCRNet, a novel architecture for real-time semantic segmentation in challenging conditions, simulating wavelet-constrained PID controller in feature and wavelet space. This study first designs an effective wavelet information enhancement algorithm using a differentiable wavelet transform to bridge the gap between the wavelet and feature information domains. Then, the wavelet-guided attention pag module (WAPM) is introduced to guide the learning and fusion of detailed features based on wavelet priors. Moreover, the traditional wavelet transforms are spectral aliasing and shift sensitivity. Inspired by dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT), the DTCWT-based channel reconstruction module (DCRM) is designed to assist the channel-based learning of boundary information from coarse to fine. Finally, the proposed architecture is evaluated by the public dataset RailSem19. The experimental results validate the consistent performance gains between accuracy and inference speed, improving by 63.7% mIoU and 87 FPS, surpassing those of the advanced methods for real-time segmentation. © 2000-2011 IEEE.
