Solving Satellite Image Data Downlink Scheduling Problem with Family Attribute Via a Bi-Stage Differential Evolutionary Algorithm

The asynchronous development between the observation capability and the transition capability results in that an original image data (OID) formed by one-time observation cannot be completely transmitted in one transmit chance between the EOS and GS (named as a visible time window, VTW). It needs to segment the OID to several segmented image data (SID) and then transmits them in several VTWs, which enriches the extension of satellite image data downlink scheduling problem (SIDSP). We define the novel SIDSP as satellite image data downlink scheduling problem with family attribute (SIDSPWFA), in which some big OID is segmented by a fast segmentation operator first, and all SID and other no-segmented OID is transmitted in the second step. Two optimization objectives, the image data transmission failure rate (FR) and the segmentation times (ST), are then designed to formalize SIDSPWFA as a bi-objective discrete optimization model. Furthermore, a bi-stage di erential evolutionary algorithm (DE+NSGA-II) is developed holding several bi-stage operators. Extensive simulation instances show the eciency of models, strategies, algorithms and operators is analysed in detail. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper investigates a newly emerging recommendation strategy for online niche products, that is, a multichannel retailer recommends online niche products for instore shoppers. Such cross-channel recommendations make more customers aware of niche products, generating a positive information effect for the online channel. It also increases the interaction between online and offline channels. However, it is unclear how the provision of cross-channel recommendations influences the channel relationship when online and offline channels sell common products. Our analysis reveals that the cross-channel recommendation can increase the offline price and sales of common products, which benefits the offline channel. But the online sales of common products are decreased, causing a cannibalization effect on the online channel. The negative effect on common products can be dominated by the positive information effect on niche products when recommending a high-price niche product. In such case, the online channel benefits from cross-channel recommendations and channel synergy is achieved. From the perspective of a multichannel retailer, recommending high-price niche products to in-store shoppers can increase the retailer’s overall profit although the market for common product might shrink. Focusing on the target market with a high potential market scale of recommended customers and increasing the recommendation precision can make cross-channel recommendations more effective. © 2022, The Authors. Faced with huge market potential and increasing competition in emerging industries, product manufacturers with key technologies tend to consider whether to implement a component open-supply strategy. This study focuses on a pricing game induced by the component open-supply strategy between a vertically integrated manufacturer (who produces key components and end products) and an exterior product manufacturer (who produces end products using purchased key components) with different customer perceived value and different cost structure. This study first establishes a three-stage pricing game model and proposes demand functions by incorporating relative customer perceived value. Based on the demand functions, we obtain feasible regions of the exterior manufacturer's sourcing decision and the optimal price decision in each region. Then the effects of relative customer perceived value, cost structure, and market structure on price decisions and optimal profits of the vertically integrated manufacturer are demonstrated. Finally, as for the optimal component supply strategy, we present a generalized closed-supply Pareto zone and establish supply strategy Pareto zones under several specific configurations. Three multi-objective memtic algorithms for observation scheduling problem of active-imaging AEOS

Observation scheduling problem for agile earth observation satellites (OSPFAS) plays a critical role in management of agile earth observation satellites (AEOSs). Active imaging enriches the extension of OSPFAS, we call the novel problem as observation scheduling problem for AEOS with variable image duration (OSWVID). A cumulative image quality and a detailed energy consumption is proposed to build OSWVID as a bi-objective optimization model. Three multi-objective memetic algorithms, PD+NSGA-II, LA+NSGA-II and ALNS+NSGA-II, are then designed to solve OSWVID. Considering the heuristic knowledge summarized in our previous research, several operators are designed for improving these three algorithms respectively. Based on existing instances, we analyze the critical parameters optimization, operators evolution, and efficiency of these three algorithms according to extensive simulation experiments. © 2022, CC BY-NC-SA.

Early detection of anxiety is crucial for reducing the suffering of individuals with mental disorders and improving treatment outcomes. Utilizing an mHealth platform for anxiety screening can be particularly practical in improving screening efficiency and reducing costs. However, the effectiveness of existing methods has been hindered by differences in mobile devices used to capture subjects' physical and mental evaluations, as well as by the variability in data quality and small sample size problems encountered in real-world settings. To address these issues, we propose a framework with spatiotemporal feature fusion for detecting anxiety nonintrusively. We use a feature extraction network based on a 3D convolutional network and long short-term memory ("3DCNN+LSTM") to fuse the spatiotemporal features of facial behavior and noncontact physiology, which reduces the impact of uneven data quality. Additionally, we design a similarity assessment strategy to address the issue of deteriorating model accuracy due to small sample sizes. Our framework is validated with a crew dataset from the real world and two public datasets: the University of Burgundy Franche-Comté Psychophysiological (UBFC-Phys) dataset and the Smart Reasoning for Well-being at Home and at Work for Knowledge Work (SWELL-KW) dataset. Various types of promising techniques have come into being for influence maximization whose aim is to identify influential nodes in complex networks. In essence, real-world applications usually have high requirements on the balance between time complexity and accuracy of influential nodes identification. To address the challenges of imperfect node influence measurement and inefficient seed nodes selection mechanism in such class of foregoing techniques, this article proposes a novel approach called Cost-Effective Community-Hierarchy-Based Mutual Voting for influence maximization in complex networks. First, we develop a method for measuring the importance of different nodes in networks based on an original concept of Dual-Scale Community-Hierarchy Information that synthesizes both hierarchy structural information and community structural information of nodes. The community structural information contained in the nodes is measured by a new notion of Hierarchical-Community Entropy. Second, we develop a method named Cost-Effective Mutual-Influence-based Voting for seed nodes selection. Hereinto, a low-computational-cost mutual voting mechanism and an updating strategy called Lazy Score Updating Strategy are newly constructed for optimizing the selecting of seed nodes. Third, we develop a balance index to evaluate the performance of different methods in striking the tradeoff between time complexity and the accuracy of influential nodes identification. Finally, we demonstrate the approach performance over ten public datasets. The extensive experiments show that the proposed approach outperforms 16 state-of-the-art techniques on the balance between time complexity and accuracy of influential nodes identification. Compared with the method with the second highest value of the balance index, our approach can be improved by at most 9.29%. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Emerging information technologies' integration into various fields has enhanced the development of these fields. Large volumes of data have been accumulated in this process. The accumulated data offer opportunities and challenges for people facing practical problems. On the one hand, it is essential to depend on a group's capabilities rather than an individual's capabilities to handle practical problems because the individual may lack sufficient expertise and experience to use data. In this situation, the practical problems can be considered as group decision making(GDM) problems. On the other hand, the accumulated data can help generate quality solutions to GDM problems. To obtain such solutions under the assumption that the accumulated data regarding a specific decision problem are available, this paper proposes a data-driven GDM method. In the method, decision makers' weights are learned from historical overall assessments and the corresponding gold standards, while criterion weights are learned from historical overall assessments and the corresponding decision matrices. The learned expert weights and criterion weights are used to produce the aggregated assessments, from which alternatives are compared or the overall conclusion is made. In a tertiary hospital located in Hefei, Anhui Province, China, the proposed method is applied to aid radiologists in diagnosing thyroid nodules.
