The selection of project management (PM) software is a complex issue and has significant impacts to the efficiency of the automobile research & development (R&D) process. Given two alternatives based on critical path method (CPM) and critical chain project management (CCPM) respectively, decision-makers usually cause confusion. This paper analyzed the characteristic of automobile R&D project and developed an evaluation model based on the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) and fuzzy multiple criteria decision making (FMCDM) methods, which can help the managers in automobile industry to select more appropriate software in the course of product R&D. In particular, the FAHP method is used to obtain the weights of evaluation criteria, and the FMCDM method is used to determine the final rank of the software. The uncertainty and vagueness in evaluation procedure were presented as the fuzzy triangular numbers. The proposed method is applied to the case study of evaluating the performance of PM software based on CPM and CCPM respectively for a car manufacturer. The result of evaluation not only assisted managers in choosing suitable software but also outline the trend in development of CCPM software.

In this paper,a regression model is developed to estimate attribute reliability in the evidential reasoning(ER)*** analysing the difference between attribute weight and attribute reliability,a general qualitative definition of attribute reliability is *** reliability of an attribute is quantitatively measured in consistence with the qualitative definition in the context of the ER approach.A regression model is then constructed to generate attribute reliabilities by minimising the maximum differences between the real value of attribute reliability and its *** the post-optimal solution space of attribute reliabilities,an optimisation model is constructed to determine the expected utilities of each alternative in order to generate solutions to multiple attribute decision analysis *** place selection problem in Qingyang County of Chizhou in Anhui province of China is analysed using the proposed regression model to demonstrate its detailed implementation process,validity and applicability.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many governments around the world to implement strict lockdown measures and order citizens to stay at home, which has caused a major change in travel patterns. This study leveraged electric vehicle charging big data in Hefei, Anhui Province, China to estimate electric vehicle charging demand in the absence of the COVID-19 pandemic using multi-layer perceptron model, which quantified the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, we employed the vector autoregressive model to investigate the dynamic relationships between the changes in charging demand and various explanatory factors. The results suggest that the daily average charging demand in Hefei decreased by 78.3 % compared to the predicted value during the pandemic. Furthermore, according to the variance decomposition and impulse response function analysis, national confirmed COVID-19 cases play a dominant role in reducing charging demand. The number of daily hospitalizations and Migration Scale Index also have significant and robust effect on the decrease in charging demand. The Air Quality Index and Baidu Index are susceptible to external factors and do not have a direct impact on the change in charging demand. Findings support a better understanding of changes in travel behavior during the pandemic and provide policy makers with references to deal with similar events.

This paper introduces Copula approach, which has been widely used in statistical field, to the construction of OLAP cubes for the first time. Based on this approach, a novel scheme is proposed to compress data and answer any OLAP query without accessing raw data. The procedure of this scheme can be generally divided into three steps. Firstly, find the proper distribution functions to fit the marginal distribution of each attribute. Secondly, employ Copula approach to catch the intra relationship among attributes in a data set. Finally, use the probability density function of joint distribution to calculate the aggregation function. Empirical evidence shows that this Copula-based model can not only drastically reduce storage requirements but also save the query response time, while the accuracy is bounded under a given level.

Service supply chain features human players as service vendor, service integrator, customer and service resource. It tends to be digitally connected, such as consulting, e-business and integrated enterprises. Our study uses a formal model and simulations to develop the effect of a service supply chain on equilibrium computation. Two insights arise on how a network can obtain equilibrium computation: forming the network structure of service supply chain; exploring entities behavior and equilibrium conditions. These results highlight the importance for service supply chain of adapting its network structure to equilibrium and application.

Statistical modeling for OLAP approximate query

From the perspective of supporting decision making, a statistical model is built in this paper in order to realize the tradeoff between the accuracy of OLAP queries and the efficiency of OLAP processes. Kernel density estimate and Copula method are employed on the multidimensional datasets to fit the marginal distribution and the joint distribution respectively, by which the dependence among dimensions is adequately explored. The synopsis information of OLAP multidimensional datasets is stored in the statistical model instead of keeping the raw data in the system, which drastically reduces the data storage space while the time spent on the OLAP query process is also reduced. The performance test and contrast experiment between Copula-based method and the classic GENHist histogram method are performed to verify that the statistical model proposed in this paper can provide the users with approximate answers of OLAP queries under the appropriate accuracy rate while improve the efficiency and flexibility of OLAP queries. © 2011 by Binary Information Press.

A previous study conducted in Anhui Province by collecting data from 56 county-level governments in 2009 has shown that the factors of demographic, financial and geographical area have linear relationship with government administrative preparation. The administrative preparation of county-level government increased with the size of population, expenditure and geographical area. Geographical area has great impact on administrative preparation, followed by least impact of financial and population. Taking a county government for example, the geographical area is unchanged but household population changed slowly. So the main factor affected the total administrative preparation is financial expenditure. In the process of approving the county government administrative preparation should consider several factors, such as population movements around. The main objective of this study is to prove that administrative preparation should be based on resident population rather than household population. © 2015 American Scientific Publishers.

Marine high-end equipment reflects a country's comprehensive national strength. The safety assessment of it is very important to avoid accident either from human or facility factors. Attribute structure and assessment approach are two key points in the safety assessment of marine high-end equipment. In this paper, we construct a hierarchical attribute structure based on literature review and text mining of reports and news. The hierarchical attribute structure includes human, equipment, environment and management level. The correlations among these attributes are analyzed. The assessment standards of attributes are described in details. Different evaluation grades associated with attributes are transformed to a unified one by the given rules. As for the assessment approach, the evidential reasoning approach is applied for uncertain information fusion. Group analytical hierarchical process is used to generate attribute weights from a group of experts, where process aggregation method and result aggregation method are combined in a comprehensive way. The importance of expert is computed by the uncertainty measure of expert's subjective judgment. A drilling platform is finally assessed by the proposed attribute structure and assessment approach to illustrate the effectiveness of the assessment framework. © 2024 - IOS Press. We emphasize the bus capacity or load limit effect on the dynamical phase transition between the delay and schedule time based on the time headway model of bus route system. A variety of schedule or delay phase spectrums have been drawn in a series of bus capacities. The phase diagrams perfectly degenerate into traditional research findings in two extreme conditions of with/without bus capacity. The retention rate is proposed as another index to evaluate the system performance and acquire the optimal load limit and the corresponding departure frequency at various arrival rates. It is concluded that the vehicle capacity limit can expand the schedule-time phase and we can take a certain load limit and departure frequency corresponding to the arrival rate. © ASCE.

This study presents a new hybrid ant colony algorithm (HACO) to solve an in integer linear programming formulation of the Cutting Stock Problem(CSP). The CSP is an important class combinatorial problem. It is appropriate to minimize the raw material used by industries for fulfilling customer's demands. In such cases, classic models for solving the cutting stock problem are useless. HACO consists of GDCP procedure and modified ACO (MACO). GDCP procedure provides dominative cutting patterns as MACO solution components, in MACO the pheromone trail is put on cutting patterns instead of items. MACO preserves cutting patterns and frequencies information under ants building solution procedure. Results obtained from computational experiments for ten benchmarks demonstrate that the performance of MACO is compared to that obtained using existing mete-heuristic algorithm.
