Laparoscope-holding robots significantly enhance the stability and precision of visualization in minimally invasive surgeries. Most existing robots of this kind depend on visual servo systems and struggle with efficient, rapid adjustments in the field-of-view (FOV), especially when identifying organs and needles outside the FOV. This paper presents a laparoscope-holding robot system capable of employing both vision-driven and force-driven mechanisms for continuous and large-scale FOV adjustments, respectively. The system features an integrated tactile handle, enabling the reception of human-robot interaction forces during surgical navigation. We propose a hybrid control method that leverages both force and vision inputs for laparoscopic FOV adjustments. This approach integrates a virtual wrench, generated from visual information, and an interaction wrench, obtained from the tactile handle, into the robot's dynamic model, which complies with remote center of motion constraints. The interaction wrench's gain is adjusted with the gripping force on the integrated tactile handle, ensuring that unintended movements caused by accidental contacts are prevented, thus safeguarding operational safety. The proposed method eliminates the need to switch control modes, enabling simultaneous visual tracking and tactile interaction guidance. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method not only allows for FOV adjustments with surgical instrument guiding but also adapts well to large-scale FOV adjustment tasks.

In view of the situation that the relay network needs to be constructed between the combat nodes with communication interruption in battlefield environment,a fast construction algorithm of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) cooperative relay network is proposed,which is based on the theory of multiple shortest paths and strategy of giving priority to the relay placement node that is the most difficult to reach for *** with the existing algorithms,this algorithm can further shorten the construction time of UAV cooperative relay network on the premise of minimizing the number of UAVs used for ***,the simulation experiment results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

This paper presents an assessment model for research and development (R&D) projects considering uncertainty in their overall life cycle. Technology maturity and competitive advantages were considered and a Balanced Scorecard (BSC) model was developed to evaluate R&D projects. Based on the multilevel evaluation framework, an evidence reasoning approach has been developed to aggregate the numerical data and qualitative information with uncertainty. The expected utility is applied to describe preferences of decision-makers in the decision process. A case study in the context of automobile R&D projects is given to illustrate the methods.

Approximation algorithms for two-stage supply chain scheduling of production and distribution

In this paper, we investigate a class of two-stage optimisation problems for manufacturers in supply chains. The objective is to optimise production and outbound distribution. In the production part, the manufacturer has identical batch-processing machines with limited capacity in size. The processing times and sizes of jobs are determined by the customer. As long as the total size of jobs in a batch does not exceed the machine capacity, the batch can be processed on any machine. The processing of a batch cannot be interrupted until all the jobs in the batch have been completed. In the distribution part, the manufacturer assigns the completed jobs in groups and delivers them to the customer with its own vehicles. We propose the model of minimising service span, which lasts from the processing of the first job to the delivery of the last job. We investigate two types of machine configuration, including single machine and parallel machines. In the vehicle configuration, we consider two cases including infinite vehicles and a fixed number of vehicles. We show all the problems under investigation are NP-hard. For each problem, we design an effective polynomial time algorithm. We analyse the time complexity and show the performance guarantees of the algorithms. © 2014, © 2014 Taylor & Francis.

Energy sources supply chain is a new research concern in supply chain management. Supply chain coordination leads to increased information flow, reduced uncertainty, which has become a critical success factor for energy sources supply chain management. We study the energy sources supply chain consisting of one energy sources vendor (SV) and one energy sources integration provider (SIP). We develop information sharing coordination of energy sources supply chain between the SV and the SIP. We try to explore the information sharing coordination in energy sources supply chain which is classified into different information flows. The findings reinforce the importance of information sharing coordination and performance to companies. As a last note, future research direction is pointed out.

Currently, the earlier detection, diagnosis and treatment to breast cancer still mainly depend on physicians' experience and knowledge. Case-Based Reasoning(CBR) mimics oncologists' real thinking process and therefore is appropriate to the diagnosis decision making. In CBR, weight derivation as a key step is commonly conducted by expert score approaches using Delphi method. The accuracy of case matching largely changes with the selection and experience of experts. In this paper, information entropy for weight determination is introduced into the CBR. We conduct experimental studies to compare the performance of Delphi method and information entropy. The results suggest that: generally, information entropy is a better approach to weight derivation.

The single-valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) are useful tools to describe uncertainty and inconsistent information that exist in real world. For SVNSs theory, two important topics are single-valued neutrosophic entropy and single-valued neutrosophic similarity measurer. This paper investigates a multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) method by using single-valued neutrosophic entropy and similarity measure. First, the concepts of single-valued neutrosophic entropy and similarity measure are presented. Then, based on the trigonometric functions (i.e., sine function and cosine function), we introduce two information measure formulas and prove that they satisfy the requirements of the single-valued neutrosophic entropy and similarity measure, respectively. Furthermore, we study the inter-relationship between single-valued neutrosophic entropy and similarity measure. By using Lagrange Multiplier Method and closeness degree, we develop a novel single-valued neutrosophic MADM method. Finally, a numerical example of selecting the desirable supplier is provided, and the comparison with existing approaches is performed to validate the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2018 - IOS Press and the authors. Generative Adversarial Network-Based Optimal Energy Storage Capacity Configuration for Newly–Build Microgrids

In the initial stage of microgrid construction, historical data is limited. It is challenging to address the issues of the small amount of data and high uncertainty of renewable energy when proceeding with capacity configuration. This study performs Wasserstein distance-based generative adversarial network with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP) to enhance the original 30 days PV power generation scenario data. Furthermore, the improved data is used to build a distributionally robust optimization model based on various discrete scenarios to determine the optimal capacity configuration of energy storage in newly–built microgrids. The results obtained from the solution are compared with those of traditional stochastic optimization and robust optimization, and the robustness of the results is verified by sensitivity analysis. The comparison results demonstrate that the strategy employed in this study can better address the issues of limited data and uncertainty in renewable energy in the capacity configuration process of newly-built microgrids. © 2024, The Authors. This paper considers how to design coordination strategies to achieve the coordination in decentralized supply chain, considering pricing, inventory and transportation cost simultaneously under the price sensitive environment. Based on a supplier-Stackelberg game structure, we analyze the non-cooperation decision model and design the algorithm. Then we propose the cooperation decision model and design the algorithm. Revenue sharing and price discount strategies are used to coordinate the decentralized supply chain. The experimental results show that both revenue sharing and price discount strategy can efficiently make the coordination of the supplier and the retailer.

This paper proposes a scheduling strategy which divides OLAM (Online Analytical Mining) tasks into query tasks, mining tasks and updating tasks in order to improve the efficiency of Bl (Business Intelligence) systems. OLAM mechanism is considered as the seamless integration of OLAP (Online Analytical processing) and data mining on data cubes, according to which the scheduling strategy focuses on. This paper emphasizes the interaction of OLAP, data mining and data cube updating, illustrates the details of the OLAM scheduling strategy and demonstrates its efficiency by performing it in a financial Bl system.
