A new blind equalization scheme is proposed based on concurrent modified square contour algorithm (MSCA) and a novel soft decision-directed (SDD) adaptation. This proposed blind equalization scheme (MSCA+SDD) may be viewed as operating a MSCA equalizer and a SDD equalizer concurrently. The MSCA term provides good steady- state equalization performance and global convergence, moving the equalizer weight vector on the correct direction; after the equalizer enters the fine local convergence region, the SDD term helps to accelerate convergence. The performance is measured for realistic microwave channel models and the simulation results demonstrate that both the MSCA+SDD and the MSCA have the same steady-state equalization performance, but the former has a faster convergence speed.

For quaternion model of two-dimensional harmonics, the singular values decomposition (SVD) method of quaternion matrix presented to estimate frequency pairs of two- dimensional harmonics. This method may estimate the number of signals by singular values. The left and right singular vectors of quaternion matrix were used to estimate frequency pairs. This method needs lesser data and data matrix is very simple. Simulations show that this method can decrease computation burden effectively than other methods.

This paper proposes a new optimization approach of a Fuzzy Logic based-Proportional-Integral-Derivative (FLPID) controller by the Multiple Tabu Search (MTS) algorithm for Automatic Generation control (AGC) including Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) units. Conventionally, the membership functions and control rules of fuzzy logic control are obtained by trial and error method or experiences of designers. To overcome this problem, the MTS is applied to simultaneously tune PID gains, membership functions and control rules of FLPID controller to minimize frequency deviations of the system against load disturbances. The MTS algorithm introduces additional techniques for improvement of search process such as initialization, adaptive search, multiple searches, crossover and restarting process. Simulation results explicitly show that the performance of the proposed optimum FLPID controller is superior to the conventional PID controller and the non-optimum FLPID controller in terms of the overshoot, settling time and robustness against variations of system parameters.

This paper investigates a fault detection problem for a class of discrete-time Markovian jump systems with norm-bounded uncertainties and mode-dependent time-delays. Attention is focused on constructing the residual generator based on the filter of which its parameters matrices are dependent on the system mode, that is, the fault detection filter is a Markovian jump system as well. The design of fault detection filter is reduced to H-infinity filtering problem by using H-infinity control theory, which can guarantee the difference between the residual and the fault (or, more generally weighted fault) as small as possible in the context of enhancing the robustness of residual to modeling errors, control inputs and unknown inputs. Sufficient condition for the existence of the above filters is established by means of linear matrix inequalities, which can be readily solved by using standard numerical software. A numerical example is given to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed method.

In this paper, we analyzed and verified the possibility and validity of overcoming present limitations of humanoid robots by using morphological and neurological analysis of human arm. Through design, implementation and performance evaluation of humanoid robot arm, we will be verifying applicability and effectiveness of humanoid robot arm system based on SERCOS network which fulfills the concept of opening, networking and modularizations which are progressive direction of future robot.
