In this study, we investigate the joint relay selection and power allocation problem for underwater acoustic communication networks with energy harvesting to maximize the cumulative capacity. We specially formulate a heterogeneous reinforcement learning-based framework. In the different decision layers, the Upper Confidence Bound 1 and enhanced Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient algorithms are employed to efficiently explore the discrete and continuous action spaces, respectively. Therefore, the solving difficulty of the complex hybrid discrete-continuous optimization problem can be significantly mitigated. Furthermore, a circular interaction structure is constructed to facilitate the exchange of decision-making information between the two decision layers. The strongly interdependent relationship of the different substrategies can be comprehensively considered, thereby improving the entire performance of thejoint strategy. Moreover, we propose an adaptive reward function, which can guide the user to balance the instantaneous capacity and interruptions, thereby effectively utilizing the green energy harvesting technology and enhancing long-term cumulative performance. In this paper, a four-dimensional (4-D) encryption scheme with chaotic index modulation (IM) and subcarrier intra-block-inter-block shuffling is proposed to enhance the physical layer security of coherent orthogonal frequency division multiplexing passive optical network (CO-OFDM-PON). The scheme utilizes a hybrid 4-D chaotic scheme consisting of 1-D Cubic chaotic mapping and 3-D T-S Fuzzy chaotic system to generate four dynamic scrambling factors to achieve 4-D ultra-high security encryption of index bits, data bits, intra-subcarrier block, and inter-subcarrier block. Firstly, the chaotic many-to-many mapping rule between index bits and subcarrier activation patterns (SAPs) is constructed based on the IM principle to realize the index bit encryption;secondly, the data bit encryption is realized by heterodyning with chaotic bits. Further, the chaotic shuffling algorithm is proposed to disrupt and rearrange the symbols within and between subcarrier blocks to realize OFDM-IM symbol secondary encryption. To validate the feasibility of the proposed encryption scheme, simulations in a CO-OFDM-PON system evaluate the performance of a 63.76 Gb/s encrypted 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) OFDM-IM signal over transmission distances of 25 km and 80 km through standard single-mode fiber (SSMF). The results demonstrate that legitimate users can successfully recover the encrypted signals, while eavesdroppers consistently experience a bit error rate (BER) close to 0.5, making it nearly impossible to extract useful information. The initial value sensitive tolerance precision of the key (x0, y0, z0, w0, a1, b1, c1, a2, b2, c2, a3, b3, c3, µ) is (10−15, 10−15, 10−14, 10−16, 10−15, 10−14, 10−15, 10−14, 10−16, 10−16, 10−15, 10−15, 10−15, 10−15), and the key space is as high as 10210. The explosive growth of electric vehicles makes the deep coupling between the power distribution network and the urban transportation network, in which the mixed flow consisting of electric vehicles and conventional gasoline vehicles exposes the coupled network to operational problems of congestion and carbon emission overruns. Considering this, this paper constructs an environmentally friendly oriented optimization model for coupled power and transportation networks. Specifically, the mixed flow in a coupled network is considered, the charging price is optimized to guide the charging behavior of electric vehicle users, and the carbon emission cost is adopted to schedule the routes of gasoline vehicles. To solve the optimization model of the coupled network, an accelerated Gauss-Seidel algorithm is designed to obtain the equilibrium state of the entire system, the optimization problems of both networks are solved in an iterative manner and eventually converge to the equilibrium state. A coupled power and transportation network consisting of a modified IEEE-33 bus distribution network and a 20 link transportation network is conducted as a case study, and the impact of charging prices and carbon emissions on the operational strategies of coupled networks is analyzed. The effectiveness of the proposed environmentally friendly oriented optimization model in promoting the cost reduction and flow equilibrium of the coupled network is verified.

communication-centric Integrated Sensing and communication (ISAC) has been recognized as a promising methodology to implement wireless sensing functionality over existing network architectures, due to its cost-effectiveness and backward compatibility to legacy cellular systems. However, the inherent randomness of the communication signal may incur huge fluctuations in sensing capabilities, leading to unfavorable detection and estimation performance. To address this issue, we elaborate on random ISAC signal processing methods in this article, aiming at improving the sensing performance without unduly deteriorating the communication functionality. Specifically, we commence by discussing the fundamentals of sensing with random communication signals, including the performance metrics and optimal ranging waveforms. Building on these concepts, we then present a general framework for random ISAC signal transmission, followed by an in-depth exploration of time-domain pulse shaping, frequency-domain constellation shaping, and spatial-domain precoding methods. We provide a comprehensive overview of each of these topics, including models, results, and design guidelines. Finally, we conclude this article by identifying several promising research directions for random ISAC signal transmission. © 2025, CC BY-SA.

We propose a novel neural network for space-time super resolution (ST-SR) of videos, in which the spatial resolution and the temporal resolution (frame rate) of a video are simultaneously increased. The proposed network contains four modules, i.e., a multi-branch-based hybrid feature extraction (MBFE) module, a multi-branch-based reconstruction (MBR) module, a first stage quality enhancement (QE) module, and a second stage cross frame quality enhancement (CFQE) module for interpolated frames only. The MBFE and MBR modules are used to extract hybrid features for spatial and temporal reconstruction by taking the input video as a cuboid, while the following QE and CEQE modules are used to further improve the reconstruction quality frame by frame. Aiming at the blind identification of space-time block codes (STBC) in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system, this paper proposes a new convolutional neural network (CNN-N) to realize the blind identification. Compared to traditional algorithms using statistical features of received signal, CNN-N can reduce the computation with a higher correct identification rate. Consist of multiple layers with special functions, CNN-N has good generalization ability in complex MIMO channels. The network in this paper can recognize 6 STBC codes include spatial multiplexing signal (SM) and some OSTBC codes. The simulation result shows that this new convolutional neural network can finish STBC identification with a high correct rate even in low SNR by consuming moderate amounts of time.

The Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Conductor (OPPC) cable is a special type of power optical cable that combines overhead conductor and communication capabilities. It has advantages such as strong wind resistance, good corrosion resistance, high bandwidth transmission, low loss transmission, and high reliability. However, as the OPPC cable operates for a long time power transmission, its long-term working temperature has a significant impact on transmission performance and lifespan. Therefore, monitoring the temperature of the OPPC cable and internal fibers can improve the transmission capacity of the line, ensure good thermal stability, and provide important references for fault warning and maintenance. This study aims to explore the temperature characteristics of the OPPC cable through actual monitoring and analysis, providing guidance and decision-making basis for practical applications.

The problem of knowledge-aided (KA) covariance matrix estimation in airborne radar space-time adaptive processing (STAP) is studied in this paper. In the traditional KA covariance matrix estimation methods, the insufficient number of available samples and inaccurate prior knowledge can cause serious deterioration of STAP performance. To tackle this problem, a new KA covariance matrix estimation algorithm based on geometric mean is proposed. Specifically, by utilizing the persymmetric structure information as well as the geometric mean in the space of positive definite matrices, a geometric mean estimator is constructed, which is then linearly combined with the prior covariance matrix to obtain a new type of CCM estimators. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed algorithm has good STAP performance with small samples and inaccurate prior knowledge.

Memristors have also become one of the most promising research hotspots for solving data storage and computing problems faced in the big data era. As an emerging electronic device, memristor has potentially important applications in information storage and processing. This paper constructs a rod-shaped TiO 2 −x nanoscale memristor with FTO/TiO 2 −x/Cu structure, whose reliability is based on the memory behavior and its conversion mechanism. Research progress including materials, preparation methods, resistive switching mechanism and application prospects are described. First, the constituent materials of memristor are introduced, focusing on metal oxides and organic materials such as titanium oxide (TiO 2 ). The choice of these materials is critical to memristor performance and applications. Secondly, the advantages and limitations of the preparation methods are discussed. Then the resistance switching mechanism of memristor was studied in depth, focusing on the generation principle and adjustment mechanism of memristor effect. These include important concepts such as charge migration, Schottky barrier formation and oxygen vacancy drift, which help to understand the electrical properties of memristors. In addition, we explore the prospects of memristors in practical applications. Finally, past and current work in this field is summarized, and the prospects and challenges of memristorrelated research are prospected.

A Collaborative Jamming Algorithm Based on Multi-UAV Scheduling

In this paper, we consider the problem of multiunmanned aerial vehicles’ (UAVs)’ scheduling for cooperative jamming, where UAVs equipped with directional antennas perform collaborative jamming tasks against several targets of interest. To ensure effective jamming towards the targets, we formulate it as an non-convex optimization problem, aiming to minimize the communication performance of the targets by jointly optimizing UAVs’ deployment and directional antenna orientations. Due to the unique structure of the problem, we derive an equivalent transformation by introducing a set of auxiliary matrices. Subsequently, we propose an efficient iterative algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM), which decomposes the problem into multiple tractable subproblems solved in closed-form or by gradient projection method.
