Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) and ambient backscatter communication (AmBC) have been envisioned as two promising technologies due to their high transmission reliability as well as energy-efficiency. This paper investigates the secrecy performance of RIS assisted AmBC networks. New closed-form and asymptotic expressions of secrecy outage probability for RIS-AmBC networks are derived by taking into account both imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC) and perfect SIC (pSIC) cases. On top of these, the secrecy diversity order of legitimate user is obtained in high signal-to-noise ratio region, which equals zero and is proportional to the number of RIS elements for ipSIC and pSIC, respectively. The secrecy throughput and energy efficiency are further surveyed to evaluate the secure effectiveness of RIS-AmBC networks. Numerical results are provided to verify the accuracy of theoretical analyses and manifest that: i) The secrecy outage behavior of RIS-AmBC networks exceeds that of conventional AmBC networks;ii) Due to the mutual interference between direct and backscattering links, the number of RIS elements has an optimal value to minimise the secrecy system outage probability;and iii) Secrecy throughput and energy efficiency are strongly influenced by the reflecting coefficient and eavesdropper’s wiretapping ability. Color information is the most commonly used prior knowledge for depth map super-resolution (DSR), which can provide high-frequency boundary guidance for detail restoration. However, its role and functionality in DSR have not been fully developed. In this paper, we rethink the utilization of color information and propose a hierarchical color guidance network to achieve DSR. On the one hand, the low-level detail embedding module is designed to supplement high-frequency color information of depth features in a residual mask manner at the low-level stages. On the other hand, the high-level abstract guidance module is proposed to maintain semantic consistency in the reconstruction process by using a semantic mask that encodes the global guidance information. The color information of these two dimensions plays a role in the front and back ends of the attention-based feature projection (AFP) module in a more comprehensive form. Simultaneously, the AFP module integrates the multi-scale content enhancement block and adaptive attention projection block to make full use of multi-scale information and adaptively project critical restoration information in an attention manner for DSR. Compared with the state-of-the-art methods on four benchmark datasets, our method achieves more competitive performance both qualitatively and quantitatively. With rapid urban population growth and urban-ization, along with increasing demand for developing the low- altitude economy, urban air mobility (UAM) is seen as a way to alleviate ground traffic congestion and promote the low-altitude economy. Due to frequent data computation, low latency require-ments, and limited energy, effective computation offloading and resource management are urgently needed. This paper assumes UAM aircraft transmit semantic information and proposes a computation offloading and resource allocation strategy based on edge computing (EC). In case of edge server failure, relay UAV s assist in information transmission, enabling UAM aircraft to offload tasks to other edge servers. We formulated an op-timization problem to minimize delay and energy consumption and designed the Federated- Td3algorithm, combining federated learning (FL) and twin delayed deep deterministic policy gradient (TD3). Compared to two baseline algorithms, our algorithm reduced delay by 9.9% and 3.3%, and energy consumption by 14.1 % and 4.5%.

In this paper, we exploit an emergency mobile crowdsensing (MCS) framework that utilizes unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in collaboration with uncrashed base stations (BSs) to enhance sensing and communication efficiency. In the proposed framework, mobile users (MUs) equipped with sensors collect data, while UAVs, deployed as aerial relays, collaborate with uncrushed BSs to facilitate the transmission and aggregation of the sensed data from all MUs. However, the limited resources significantly affect the deployment of UAVs and the design of the UAV-relay-assisted MCS system. Moreover, selecting MUs for sensing tasks and allocating bandwidth among them are crucial factors that determine MUs' sensing capabilities and the data transmitting policies. Incorporating with foregoing essential factors, we formulate a comprehensive problem that jointly optimizes the MU selection, bandwidth allocation, UAV deployment, as well as strategies for sensing and transmitting data, aiming to improve the total reward of agent. The formulated problem poses high challenges due to the coupling between the sensing, transmission, as well as the UAVs deployment policies. To deal with this problem, we first derive the optimal transmission power and sensing data size under given MU selection, bandwidth allocation, and UAVs deployment strategy. The original optimization problem is subsequently decomposed into three folds, corresponding to finding the optimal MU selection, bandwidth allocation solution, as well as the deployment of UAVs. Meanwhile, a joint dynamic programming and a swap-then-compare enabled algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal MU selection and bandwidth allocation policies. Next, the successive convex approximation (SCA) techniques are used to find the optimal locations for the UAVs. Extensive numerical results verify that the proposed joint algorithm can significantly outperform several benchmark approaches. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

Based on today's modern technologies, patient care can be provided remotely, in a connected way, being, at the same time, personalized, patient-centered and proactive. Such an approach can be achieved using Remote Health Monitoring Systems (RHMS). In case of elderly people, dramatic permanent deteriorations of their health status can be caused by falls. The seniors' health and life style monitoring and the detection and/or prevention of falls can be done by such RHMS, an example being the RO-SmartAgeing system developed inside 'Non-invasive Monitoring System and Health Assessment of the Elderly in a Smart Environment (RO-SmartAgeing)' research project. The paper presents the problem of using microservices for optimizing the architecture and functionalities of RO-SmartAgeing system, and the way in which the problems of ensuring the security of patient data can be solved. © 2023 IEEE.

Accurate prediction of wind speed and power is vital for enhancing the efficiency of wind energy systems. Numerous solutions have been implemented to date, demonstrating their potential to improve forecasting. Among these, deep learning is perceived as a revolutionary approach in the field. However, despite their effectiveness, the noise present in the collected data remains a significant challenge. This noise has the potential to diminish the performance of these algorithms, leading to inaccurate predictions. In response to this, this study explores a novel feature engineering approach. This approach involves altering the data input shape in both Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short-Term Memory (CNN-LSTM) and Autoregressive models for various forecasting horizons. The results reveal substantial enhancements in model resilience against noise resulting from step increases in data. The approach could achieve an impressive 83% accuracy in predicting unseen data up to the 24th steps. Furthermore, this method consistently provides high accuracy for short, mid, and long-term forecasts, outperforming the performance of individual models. These findings pave the way for further research on noise reduction strategies at different forecasting horizons through shape-wise feature engineering. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. The nonlinear control system of ship is complex, which is a focus of research and key core of dynamic tracking. Because the input of the actual system is often restricted by the physical constraints of the actuator and energy-saving control, the feasible region of the control input is often constrained by these factors. Therefore, by combining Zhang-gradient (ZG) dynamics with S-function, in this paper, a novel controller for the limited input system is designed. Considering the fact that dynamic systems are generally nonlinear in practical applications, the nonlinear system study has more practical significance. Therefore, this paper extends the ZG control method based on gradient dynamics and the bivariate S-function to the tracking control of nonlinear ship system, and designs a ship course tracking controller with a limited input, which can control the rudder angle within a certain feasible region while successfully tracking the ship course.

Considering at the issue that the performance of the traditional beamforming algorithm will decrease sharply when the disturbance occurs at the disturbed position and the steering vector mismatch occurs, a new robust beamforming method based on covariance matrix reconstruction and Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM) is proposed. Firstly, based on the maximum output power criterion of beamformers, an optimization model is designed to solve the optimal steering vector. Then, the covariance matrix is reconstructed by using the defined interference range to widen the nullity and enhance the anti-motion interference ability of the system. Then, for the quadratic inequality constraint problem of the steering vector, this paper uses ADMM to solve the model iteratively, and obtains the specific solution of the steering vector in each iteration. In addition, the complexity of the algorithm is also analyzed. The experimental results show that, compared with the existing beamforming algorithms, the proposed method Widen the width of zero notch in the interference area, improves the anti-interference performance of the beam, and can well correct the mismatched steering vector. © 2021 IEEE.

Secrecy Outage Probability Analysis for Downlink RIS-NOMA Networks with On-Off control

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has been regarded as a promising technology since it has ability to create the favorable channel conditions. This paper investigates the secure communications of RIS assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks, where both external and internal eavesdropping scenarios are taken into consideration. More specifically, novel approximate and asymptotic expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP) for the k-th legitimate user (LU) are derived by invoking imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC) and perfect successive interference cancellation (pSIC). To characterize the secrecy performance of RIS-NOMA networks, the diversity order of the k-th LU with ipSIC/pSIC is obtained in the high signal-to-noise ratio region. The secrecy system throughput of RIS-NOMA networks is discussed in delay-limited transmission mode. Numerical results are presented to verify theoretical analysis that: i) The SOP of RIS-NOMA networks is superior to that of RIS assisted orthogonal multiple access (OMA) and conventional cooperative communication schemes;ii) As the number of reflecting elements increases, the RIS-NOMA networks are capable of achieving the enhanced secrecy performance;and iii) The RIS-NOMA networks have better secrecy system throughput than that of RIS-OMA networks and conventional cooperative communication schemes. This paper focuses on the sliding mode fault-tolerant control (SMFTC) problem for a class of delayed nonlinear systems in presence of actuator fault and nonlinear input. Firstly, the augmented strategy involving system state, actuator fault and external disturbance is constructed, and then the fault-tolerant observer is designed accordingly. An SMFTC law ensuring the asymptotical stability of the reduce-order estimation error is provided subsequently. To further illustrate the system performance, a new sliding function with respect to decomposed signal is constructed and the asymptotically stability of sliding motion is analyzed. Moreover, a novel adaptive-based sliding mode controller is presented to steer the system state onto the sliding manifold. Finally, a verification example is considered to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed SMFTC approach.
