To meet the requirements for power grid data sharing and model maintenance, this paper proposes a cooperative modeling scheme between transformer substations and the control center. The implementation is based on chartmodel integration in which power grid data and graphics are described interactively. The models cover the standards of the 61850 and 61970. The SCL described substation configurations such as ICD, SCD, SSD and CID files may be derived from the integrated model for intelligent substation assembling. The CIM model and the SVG graphics may be also derived from it. The integrated model is applicable for substation modeling and grid model merging. The scheme facilitates the power grid data sharing and the equipment model maintenance both in the substation and the control center.

Frequency synthesizer plays an important role in frequency hopping communication system. In this paper, we derivate the conditions for a system to become the chaotic based on the phase model of phase-locked synthesizer. We found that the system parameter changing during the frequency switching is able to make the system to be chaotic. Based on the Cao's method [5], we find that the fractal dimension of the transient signals should be equal to or less than 4, which also provides the maximal positive Lyapunov exponent. In addition, the unique double-ring attractor of them is also reproduced through the phase reconstruction, which also implies that the frequency switching will result in a chaotic for Frequency-Hopping communication system.

A wideband spectrum sensing procedure based on the idea of group testing is proposed in this paper. A new polyphase filter bank (PFB) for which the output subbands have the same bandwidth and contain continuous frequency components is proposed. This PFB is utilized to form a two-stage wideband spectrum sensing method. The simulations show that the proposed method can reduce the number of binary tests greatly when the number of occupied primary channels is low.

Modulated wideband converter (MWC) based sub-Nyquist sampling can be used for wideband spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks. In this paper, a method is proposed for detecting whether the reconstruction process is unsuccessful due to non-sparse spectrum in MWC based wideband spectrum sensing to avoid causing harmful interference to primary users. The proposed method exploits the correlation between two consecutively recovered support sets. Simulation results show that the method can judge whether the reconstruction is successful or not with high probability. Compared with traditional spectrum sensing without reconstruction failure detection, the proposed method can lower the interference probability to primary users greatly when spectrum is not sparse.

This paper presents the design and implementation of a novel broad bandwidth endfire antenna with log-periodic directors. The feeding structure of the proposed antenna includes a balun which is formed using a pair of microstrip to slotline transitions. The proposed antenna has three resonant frequencies in the operating frequency band. Both simulation and measurement results show that the operating frequency band of the antenna can cover wide bandwidth (5GHz-10GHz), and the relative bandwidth is 67%. Far field measurements in azimuth plane and elevation plane show that the radiation patterns are stable and end fire within the operating band at frequencies of 5GHz, 7GHz, 8GHz, 10GHz. The proposed antenna radiates a well defined endfire beam, with a front-to-back ratio > 18dB and cross polarization level below -28dB. The dimension of the proposed antenna is 26mm × 27mm. Good return loss and radiation pattern characteristics are obtained and measured results are presented to validated the usefulness of the proposed antenna structure for wide bandwidth endfire applications.

This paper proposes the improved 3D Bilinear Multidimensional Morphable Models (BMMMs) which can be used in face recognition, etc. In each level of the multidimensional model, we introduce the bilinear programming model for the model matching problem as well as a globally optimal algorithm for bilinear programs. Both tight convex relaxations of the objective function and a convergent branching strategy contribute to the success of the globally optimal algorithm for bilinear programs. Experiments with synthetic data validate that the 3D Bilinear Multidimensional Morphable Models outperform the 3D Morphable Models in optimality, model matching speed, convergence rate and robustness to noise and outliers.
