Multispectral radiation thermometry is a widely used non-contact temperature measurement method, particularly in extreme environments. However, accurately retrieving the true temperature remains challenging due to the unknown emissivity of the object. This paper proposes a collaborative optimization approach (feasible region constraints-divide and conquer optimization), which combines a feasible domain constraints method (PCR-PSO) with a divide and conquer optimization algorithm (multi-BFGS). Simulation results show that the proposed approach reduces the temperature inversion error from 0.59% to 0.19% compared to the traditional BFGS algorithm. Experimental results obtained with stainless steel samples indicate an average error of less than 0.2% and an average processing time of 0.2 seconds, highlighting the potential for real-time temperature measurement in engineering applications. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.

Reversible solid oxide cell (RSOC) demonstrates considerable promise in multimodal energy conversion architectures, particularly as a technology for hydrogen-based energy storage systems. Nevertheless, under dynamic operating regimes with time-varying current inputs, realizing time-efficient and reliable transitions to steady-state operation remains difficult. This difficulty arises from the intricate coupling of thermal, electrical, and gaseous processes within the RSOC system. This study aims to address these challenges by developing a 5 kW mathematical model of the RSOC system. The proposed model enables systematic investigation of thermal safety issues arising during current switching operations while introducing a thermal constraint control strategy to enhance both system efficiency and thermal safety performance. This efficiency-driven study employs the Grid Search algorithm to identify optimal steady-state operating points for the RSOC system, ensuring strict adherence to safety constraints across varying current inputs. Furthermore, by integrating the pre-identified optimal operating points as feedforward control with Model Predictive control (MPC)-based feedback correction, this hybrid strategy effectively mitigates stack temperature gradient overshoot while synchronously ensuring optimal system efficiency throughout current transition processes. Under simulated variable current inputs, the proposed RSOC system model and control strategy demonstrate the capability to constrain stack temperature gradient overshoot within 2.3K while enhancing transient efficiency by 5 %–8 %, achieving a peak system efficiency of 85 %. It provides a novel methodology for safe and efficient working with intermittent renewable energy. © 2025 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

In the permanent magnet synchronous motor drives (PMSM), high-quality controller optimization and condition monitoring rely heavily on accurate knowledge of mechanical parameters. To address this need, this study presents a novel decoupled extended sliding mode observer (DESMO) capable of achieving high-quality synchronous estimation of the moment of inertia and the load disturbance. An extended state-space equation is, firstly, constructed by extending the mechanical equations. Subsequently, the novel DESMO is designed by introducing two new recursive equations. On this basis, the excitation weight on the moment of inertia is analyzed, resulting in the derivation of Lyapunov-mechanism-based decoupling updating conditions (DOCs) to further exploit the DESMO's estimation potential. Furthermore, when the DOCs are not all satisfied, the second observation equation is derived with the reaching law of the moment of inertia set to zero to achieve state decoupling during estimation process. With the switching excitation of DOCs, notably, the DESMO is capable of serving as a more competitive candidate for observing multi-mechanical parameters, as demonstrated through simulation and experimental results. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies, multi-robot cooperative processing tasks are becoming more and more common in various applications. However, traditional single-robot planning algorithms show obvious limitations in dealing with complex social interactions and dynamic environments in the real world. To address this challenge, this paper applies Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) to multi-robot path planning and proposes a collaborative obstacle avoidance motion planning algorithm based on MCTS. Specifically, the algorithm prunes the Monte Carlo tree by excluding cases that do not meet the robot speed constraints and potential collisions, which significantly improves the computational speed and success rate of the algorithm, making it applicable to the multi-robot path conflict problem. In addition, we design a policy space that conforms to the robot's operation and a cost function that meets the requirements of robot path planning to plan an efficient cooperative path for each robot. Through a series of simulation experiments, we demonstrate the algorithm's path planning and obstacle avoidance performance in a variety of conflict scenarios. The results show that the method is highly cooperative and effective in complex environments. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

Target detection is widely applied in fields such as face recognition, autonomous driving, and industrial automation. However, when deploying target detection models based on convolutional neural networks on resource-constrained embedded platforms, issues like high computational complexity, long execution times, and significant on-chip memory usage arise. To address these challenges, this paper presents a target detection accelerator design based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Firstly, the computational workload of convolutional neural networks is reduced by merging convolutional layers with batch normalization layers. Secondly, to mitigate on-chip storage space concerns, on-chip data fixed-point quantization is employed to decrease on-chip memory consumption. Subsequently, to tackle the issue of long execution times, a convolution calculation module based on the Winograd algorithm is designed, which reduces computation latency. Finally, a dual-buffer pipeline architecture is devised to optimize memory bandwidth. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed solution accelerates YOLOv4-tiny on the ZYNQ-7020, achieving a performance of 21.35 GOP/s. The energy efficiency is 32.56 times higher than CPU and 9.76 times higher than GPU. Additionally, the convolution calculation module in this paper reduces inference time by 15% compared to the sliding window convolution calculation method.

The accurate laser positioning system (ALPS) is an emerging distributed large-scale laser positioning system, which has shown broad prospects in industrial production, navigation, and other fields. Addressing the issue of reduced measurement accuracy in complex large-space measurement scenarios due to laser signal obstruction encountered by traditional planar and spherical receiver units, this paper analyzes the measurement principle of ALPS. Based on omnidirectional photoelectric array units, a comprehensive vector measurement model is established, and a position and attitude calculation method for omnidirectional vector measurement is studied. Employing the Monte Carlo method based on statistical principles, the feasibility of the position and attitude calculation method is verified through simulation. Additionally, field experiments are conducted in conjunction with a laser tracking system to evaluate the absolute accuracy of the proposed model under point and attitude changes. The results indicate that the point accuracy exceeds 0.24mm with a standard deviation of less than 0.026mm. When attitude changes occur, the horizontal and pitch directions are superior to 0.28mm and 0.47mm, respectively, with standard deviations of less than 0.030mm and 0.032mm, meeting the system's sub-millimeter-level requirements and expanding the application scope of the ALPS system. © 2024 IEEE.

For the problem of optimal shielding design of metal shielding enclosures in complex environments, multi-layer cylindrical metal enclosures is modeled and simulated by using simulation software. In the simulation, the shielding effectiveness of the multi-layer enclosures with different diameter-to-length ratios and alternating combinations of different materials is compared and analyzed. The results show that the multi-layer shielding enclosure with optimal shielding effectiveness is composed of stainless steel on the outer layer, silver on the middle layer and permalloy on the inner layer. And the larger the length-diameter ratio of multi-layer cylindrical metal enclosure, the better the shielding effect. The simulation study of electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of multi-layer cylindrical metal enclosures provides support for the study of multi-layer metal shielding enclosures in complex electromagnetic environments. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Laser ultrasound is a non-destructive inspection technique, but its application in internal defect detection and state characterization is limited by its weak body wave displacement induced by thermo-elastic mechanism. In this paper, the influence of the constraint layer on the directivity of laser induced ultrasonic force source and the excitation efficiency of longitudinal wave is analyzed by finite element modeling with transparent glass as the constraint layer. With the optimization of the parameters of the confinement layer, the longitudinal waves with energy comparable to that of the free surface ablation mechanism can be excited under the thermoelastic mechanism, which greatly improves the efficiency of the longitudinal wave of laser ultrasonic. Applying the above research results to the detection of internal defects, the imaging results of the internal defects are obvious and the location defects are accurate. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. With the development of modern vehicle functions and technologies, surface geometry defects such as dents and cracks generated during the assembly and service of a vehicle not only endanger flight safety and reduce load capacity but also limit its functional characteristics. Accurate detection of surface geometry defects is critical, and these defects must be controlled within a small margin of error. However, conventional methods have difficulty meeting practical requirements in terms of detection accuracy and measurement size. In this paper, based on the analysis of the structural characteristics of the aircraft surface, an aircraft skin defect detection and characterization method is proposed, which processes the defect point cloud data, combines the segmentation algorithm of area growth to detect defects, and analyzes the geometric analysis and characterization through the depth of defects to achieve the accurate measurement of defects, and the experimental results show that the measurement of round holes with different depths of standard parts, the measurement results and the true value of The error are less than 0.05mm;the measurement of the outer surface of the aircraft engine compartment can detect different types of defects such as scratches or dents, and the method in this paper can be extended to the defect detection field of other large industrial equipment. © 2023 IEEE.

Hyperspectral image classification (HSIC) is a pivotal technology in hyperspectral remote sensing, playing a widespread role in remote sensing applications. However, the limited number of labeled samples has always made hyperspectral image classification difficult. In response to this issue, researchers have delved into cross-domain classification studies. Moreover, significant progress on cross-domain HSIC has been made in recent years. Nevertheless, existing methods exhibit shortcomings, including inadequate exploitation of spectral and spatial information and a slow training speed, rendering them unsuitable for downstream application tasks. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a model of cross-domain few-shot learning with spectral-spatial split attention(S 3 A-CFSL). Channel attention and split attention are presented to emphasize effective spectral and spatial information for HSIC adaptively. Additionally, the ResNet variant, called ResNeSt, is employed to expedite the training speed of the model. Experimental results demonstrate notable enhancements in the proposed method's classification accuracy and model training speed across two public datasets.
