Gait recognition with radio frequency (RF) signals enables many potential applications requiring accurate identification. However, current systems require individuals to be within a line-of-sight (LOS) environment and struggle with low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) when signals traverse concrete and thick walls. To address these challenges, we present TRGR, a novel transmissive reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided gait recognition system. TRGR can recognize human identities through walls using only the magnitude measurements of channel state information (CSI) from a pair of transceivers. Specifically, by leveraging transmissive RIS alongside a configuration alternating optimization algorithm, TRGR enhances wall penetration and signal quality, enabling accurate gait recognition. Furthermore, a residual convolution network (RCNN) is proposed as the backbone network to learn robust human information. Experimental results confirm the efficacy of transmissive RIS, highlighting the significant potential of transmissive RIS in enhancing RF-based gait recognition systems. Extensive experiment results show that TRGR achieves an average accuracy of 97.88% in identifying persons when signals traverse concrete walls, demonstrating the effectiveness and robustness of TRGR. © 2024 IEEE.

In this article, we investigate the problem of fast finite-time target tracking control of the inertially stabilized platform (ISP) with a camera that mounted on a mobile robot. At first, the kinematics of the onboard ISP target tracking system is established by the geographic coordinate and pinhole camera model, which includes the state-dependent uncertainties and external disturbances. Then, based on the image information captured by camera, a continuous image-based fast finite-time control algorithm is designed for target tracking. Rigorous analysis proves that the target can be tracked at the center of camera's view in finite time in the absence of disturbances. In the presence of disturbances, the tracking error can converge to a region around the origin in finite time. Simulation and experimental comparisons are presented to confirm the efficiency of the proposed method. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

The conventional approach to frequency regulation predominantly relies on thermal and hydroelectric power generation units. As a growing variety of frequency regulation resources become accessible to power systems, there is significant variation in their performance characteristics, it is important to quantify their capabilities in the frequency service markets. This study introduces a technique to calculate the equivalent ratio of these resources by analyzing their primary response to frequency deviations derived from open-loop control. Based on the rotor motion equation of the generator, this paper constructs a load frequency control model incorporating two distinct regulation resources, linearize their outputs, and integrate them into the model. Through differential equations, this paper derives analytical expressions for the frequency deviation curve, enabling the determination of key frequency metrics. The equivalent ratio is then calculated by comparing the output power of resources with similar performance indicators. Finally, the paper investigates the impact of diverse parameters on the computation of the equivalent ratio employing simulation-based experimental analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

In the field of unmanned aerial vehicle-based transmission line inspection, the neural network models currently employed suffer from large model sizes and high computational requirements, resulting in a trade-off between detection speed and accuracy. We propose an improved lightweight YOLOv5 object detection algorithm based on channel pruning to address this issue. The approach incorporates the SimAM attention mechanism into the backbone network to enhance feature extraction capability without increasing computational complexity, thereby improving detection accuracy. Traditional convolutional modules in the neck network are replaced with GSconv modules to reduce convolutional computation and enhance detection speed. The Wise-IoU loss is utilized as the localization loss for the detection model, speeding up model convergence. Finally, a model compression technique is implemented to eliminate unnecessary channels within the network, resulting in a decrease in model size and a boost in detection speed. Experimental results on a constructed grid inspection dataset demonstrate that the improved model achieves a 72.1% reduction in model size, a 62.5% reduction in GFLOPs, a 5.9 FPS improvement, and a 0.3% mAP increase compared to the original YOLOv5. These findings underscore the advantages of the improved lightweight YOLOv5 object detection algorithm, offering a blend of heightened accuracy, streamlined size, and swift detection capabilities. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Limited reliability data during the development of cruise ship automation systems often leads to subjective weight allocation. This paper proposes an reliability allocation method based on the Bayesian best-worst method and analytic hierarchy process to address this challenge. By considering the system reliability indices, influencing factors, and units need to be allocated, a hierarchical model is established for reliability allocation based on the analytic hierarchy process. The Bayesian best-worst method compares elements in each layer, generating best and worst matrices based on decision-makers. These matrices determine optimal weights for each layer's elements. The analytic hierarchy process determines relative importance weights among the system reliability index, influencing factors, and units. Consequently, the derived optimal weights are converted into allocation factors, which enable the allocation of reliability for cruise ship automation systems. This fusion-based approach presents a novel and effective method for optimizing reliability allocation during the development stage of complex systems. © 2024 IEEE.

The accurate laser positioning system (ALPS) is an emerging distributed large-scale laser positioning system, which has shown broad prospects in industrial production, navigation, and other fields. Addressing the issue of reduced measurement accuracy in complex large-space measurement scenarios due to laser signal obstruction encountered by traditional planar and spherical receiver units, this paper analyzes the measurement principle of ALPS. Based on omnidirectional photoelectric array units, a comprehensive vector measurement model is established, and a position and attitude calculation method for omnidirectional vector measurement is studied. Employing the Monte Carlo method based on statistical principles, the feasibility of the position and attitude calculation method is verified through simulation. Additionally, field experiments are conducted in conjunction with a laser tracking system to evaluate the absolute accuracy of the proposed model under point and attitude changes. The results indicate that the point accuracy exceeds 0.24mm with a standard deviation of less than 0.026mm. When attitude changes occur, the horizontal and pitch directions are superior to 0.28mm and 0.47mm, respectively, with standard deviations of less than 0.030mm and 0.032mm, meeting the system's sub-millimeter-level requirements and expanding the application scope of the ALPS system. © 2024 IEEE.

Satellites have been widely used for military and civil applications. The power system is critical for the satellite's operating safety. However, satellite power system anomaly monitoring is faced with challenges like large amounts of data, insufficient anomaly samples, and complex operating conditions. To address these challenging issues, this paper proposes a data-driven anomaly detection method that fuses the time-related historical data and spatial-associated sub-system monitor data. Firstly, the probabilistic prediction model is used to establish the prediction model based on time and space The corresponding prediction uncertainties of the temporal and spatial models are quantitatively represented. Then, the stochastic distribution model is introduced to fuse the two uncertainties to obtain the predicted mean value and fusion uncertainty of the current power system state. The mean value is taken as the expected result of the state, and the fused uncertainty interval is taken as the threshold of abnormal judgment to realize the detection of the abnormal condition. The telemetry data of the actual satellite power system are used for experimental and comparative analysis. The results show that the false negative rate of anomaly detection results can be effectively reduced, and the detection accuracy can be improved through the fusion of spatio-temporal uncertainty. © 2023 IEEE.
