We propose an approach to implement a supersensitive estimation of the key parameters of the Ohmic-family spectral density with coherent spin states as the quantum sensor. This method can dramatically improve the estimation precision of the reservoir coupling strength as well as the cutoff frequency of the spectral density, by using both the number of spins N and encoding time t as effective resources. The quantum Fisher information indicates that the estimation sensitivity of the spectral density can surpass the shot-noise limit for all the sub-Ohmic, Ohmic, and super-Ohmic reservoirs. In particular, for super-Ohmic reservoirs, the precision can achieve a scaling ∝1/(Nt). We also present the measurement scheme which can saturate the quantum Cramér-Rao bound.

Distributed end-effector formation control for networked 2-DoF flexible-joint manipulators with partially underactuated agents

The presence of faulty or underactuated manipulators can disrupt the end-effector formation keeping of a team of manipulators. This paper investigates the distributed end-effector formation control of networked planar two-link manipulators with flexible joints, emphasizing cases where some agents are underactuated. The underactuated agents can be active–passive (AP) manipulators, where only the first joint is actuated; passive–active (PA) manipulators, where only the second joint is actuated; or a combination thereof. First, we establish an equilibrium property for the discussed underactuated manipulators with flexible joints. Building upon this property, we introduce the novel concept of virtual end-effectors for manipulators, whose positions serve as intermediate variables in the controller design. Then, we extend the distance-based and displacement-based formation controllers to accommodate this group of manipulators by coupling virtual end-effectors, rather than actual end-effectors used in existing works. Finally, we investigate the set of desired and reachable shapes for the networked end-effectors to highlight how the presence of underactuated manipulators affects the applicability of the proposed controllers. This analysis demonstrates that the distance-based method accommodates more underactuated manipulators in the group than the displacement-based method. We validate both our analysis and the proposed distributed controllers through numerical simulations.

Receiver detection algorithm has always been a research hotspot in communication system and the key point to determine the performance of 5G system. Both industry and academia have been committed to finding detection algorithms with lower complexity and higher detection performance. This paper will study how to solve the problems of low detection performance and high complexity of classical algorithms. Taking Pattern Division Multiple Access (PDMA) as an example, this paper improves the existing receiver detection algorithms such as Minimum Mean Square Error-Serial Interference Cancellation(MMSE-SIC), Message Passing Algorithm (MPA) and Expectation Propagation Algorithm (EPA), and puts forward corresponding improved algorithms with specific formulas, i.e. Enhanced-MMSE-SIC, Turbo-like MPA (MPA-Turbo) and Turbo-like EPA with hybrid parallel interference cancellation (EPA-Turbo-PIC). Link-level simulation results and analysis show that the proposed improved algorithms have performance advantages over the corresponding traditional algorithms. © 2022, The Authors. For the defects in the automobile rear view mirror regulation method, an intelligent regulation algorithm of automobile rear view mirrors is studied in this paper. The algorithm utilizes drivers' images in vehicles gathered by a single camera to determine the practical spatial positions of drivers' binocular centers in the vehicles. Then, through the regulation relationship algorithm between eye location and the rear view mirror, the intelligent regulation of optimal view of automobile rear view mirrors is achieved. The experimental results indicate that the algorithm has the advantages of fast regulation, convenience, and accuracy. © 2019 Totem Publisher, Inc. All rights reserved.

Post-stack seismic profiles are images reflecting containing geological structures which provides a critical foundation for understanding the distribution of oil and gas resources. However, due to the limitations of seismic acquisition equipment and data collecting geometry, the post-stack profiles suffer from low resolution and strong noise issues, which severely affects subsequent seismic interpretation. To better enhance the spatial resolution and signal-to-noise ratio of post-seismic profiles, a multi-scale attention encoder-decoder network based on generative adversarial network (MAE-GAN) is proposed. This method improves the resolution of post-stack profiles, and effectively suppresses noises and recovers weak signals as well. A multi-scale residual module is proposed to extract geological features under different receptive fields. At the same time, an attention module is designed to further guide the network to focus on important feature information. Additionally, to better recover the global and local information of post-stack profiles, an adversarial network based on a Markov discriminator is proposed. Finally, by introducing an edge information preservation loss function, the conventional loss function of the Generative Adversarial Network is improved, which enables better recovery of the edge information of the original post-stack profiles. Experimental results on simulated and field post-stack profiles demonstrate that the proposed MAE-GAN method outperforms two advanced convolutional neural network-based methods in noise suppression and weak signal recovery. Furthermore, the profiles reconstructed by the MAE-GAN method preserve more geological structures. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This study presents a contactless current traveling wave fault location scheme for a two-terminal overhead transmission line based on a tunnel Magnetoresistive sensor. The proposed method is implemented by installing a tunnel Magnetoresistive sensor array at both ends of the line for current traveling wave measurement. The measured data is transmitted to a remote monitoring unit (RMU) for analysis. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated for different fault situations using an experimental set-up. The proposed exhibited high efficiency for current traveling wave fault location. The results were analyzed for fault location using the differentiator smoother to reduce the time of arrival errors. The proposed scheme is compared with a general traveling wave-based scheme for transmission line fault distance location. In all test cases, the proposed scheme offered very efficient results for all categories of faults with an average relative error of 0.024%. © 2020 IEEE.

Rate control is a critical component for image and video compression Particularly under limited network bandwidth conditions, bitrate control is essential to ensure efficient image transmission by effectively allocation channel resources. In this research, since both Channel and Spatial have relationship with rate allocation, we first propose a joint Channel-wise and Spatial-wise Quantization scheme to determine optimal quantization parameters. Subsequently, we develop a quantization step estimation network to obtain parameters to efficiently allocate rate according to target rate. Experiments demonstrate that our algorithm significantly improve compressed image quality with minimal bitrate distortion and achieve accurate rate control with nearly 3% average bitrate error.

Butterfly hysteresis effects are complicated nonlinear behaviors. In comparison with single-loop hysteresis behaviors, butterfly hysteresis loops are composed of two single hysteresis loops and the directions of the butterfly hysteresis loop include both clockwise and counter-clockwise. Therefore, it brings a great challenge to build a proper model to describe the butterfly hysteresis behaviors, since most available hysteresis models are applied to describe the single-loop hysteresis. To solve this problem, a modified Bouc-Wen model with an absolute excitation function and modified elastic polynomials is developed in this paper. Experimental results are carried out via a dielectric elastomer actuator (DEA) to validate the effectiveness of the proposed model.

In this letter, we investigate a robust beamforming problem for localization-aided millimeter wave (mmWave) communication systems. To handle this problem, we propose a novel restriction and relaxation (R&R) method. The proposed R&R method aims at minimizing the total transmit power while the positioning error follows a Gaussian distribution. Specifically, in the restriction phase of R&R, the probabilistic constraint is transformed into the deterministic form by using the Bernstein-type inequality. In the relaxation phase of R&R, the non-convex optimization problem is reformulated into a convex semidefinite program (SDP) by using semidefinite relaxation (SDR) and first-order Taylor expansion methods. To the best of our knowledge, we first consider the impact of the distribution of the positioning error on the channel state information (CSI), which further influences the data rate. Numerical results present the trade-off of the beamforming between the communication and positioning. © 2022, CC BY.

Detection of tannins can be utilized as an approach for regulating food quality. Herein, a single-atom Fe nanozyme (Fe@CN-20)-based sensitive colorimetric sensor for tannins was initially developed. Fe@CN-20 had both laccase-like and oxidase-like activities, and has a high affinity for TMB with a Km value of 6.191×10-7 M. Therefore, the Fe@CN-20/TMB system can be sensitive to tannic acid due to the fact that tannins are easily oxidized. The linear range was 5 - 100 mg/L, and the detection limit was 0.13 mg/L (S/N=3). The entire testing process takes approximately 30 minutes. The sensing platform was further successfully utilized for quantifying tannins in five different brands of brandy. The sensing platform is characterized by great environmental stability, recyclability, remarkable sensitivity, and stability, all of which demonstrate its immense potential for rapid on-site detection of tannins. © 2023, The Authors.
