This article presents an innovative Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Miniaturized Radiator tailored for microwave applications. The design addresses key challenges such as achieving broad impedance bandwidth, maintaining a compact form factor, and ensuring high radiation efficiency. Extensive simulations using CST Microwave Studio were conducted on a 13 × 14 × 1.5 mm³ FR-4 substrate to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the antenna. The proposed design exhibits notable features, such as an impressive 121.8 % impedance bandwidth and a remarkable -28 dB (S 11 ). Ensuring consistent radiation patterns, the antenna guarantees reliable and efficient operation. It operates from 3.4 GHz to 14 GHz, with a middle point of 8.7 GHz, and an efficiency of 82.9 % with delivers a wide gain of 3.92 dBi, making it quite suitable for many uses. Its design is particularly suitable for communications in the UWB, S-band, C-band, and X-band.

This paper deals with the constrained design of the weighting coefficients to achieve a desired receiving beampattern for wideband sparse phased array. A novel optimization model that minimizes beampattern peak sidelobe level in a space-frequency region of interest (SFRI) along with mainlobe level and weight coefficients quantitative restrictions is proposed. An Alternating Direction Penalty Method (ADPM) formulation to tackle the resultant nonconvex problem is introduced. In each iteration, the original problem is executed via solving multiple tractable subproblems. The simulation results highlight that in comparison with the available approach, the proposed method realizes a deeper nulling in the given space-frequency region capable of rejecting the strong interference.

Based on the nested-saturation technique, this paper investigates the global stabilization problem for a class of upper-triangular nonlinear systems with uncertain measurement functions. By imposing certain assumptions on the uncertain powers, a state-feedback controller, only involving the known parameters, is designed to locally stabilize the nonlinear system. Then, a saturated controller is constructed by combining the nested function and the local stabilizer. With appropriate saturation level, it can be proved that the saturated controller is able to make the closed-loop system globally asymptotically stable. Finally, a simulation example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control scheme.

A novel and convenient method for human positioning based on computer vision is proposed. The new camera Realsense D435 from Intel is used to provide richer and more effective visual information. The positioning problem can be simplified to the conversion problem between point cloud and space coordinate system. Experimental results indicated that only several test points were needed to establish the conversion relationship between the two coordinate systems, thereby obtaining the position of the person. The accuracy meets the demand of the stage performance. © 2019 IEEE.

In this work we establish a general scattering theory for two-dimensional quantum systems with periodically modulated interactions. We show that scattering quantities, such as the scattering cross section, effective scattering length, and effective-range parameter, can be defined in a manner analogous to conventional scattering theory, even in the presence of modulation. Unlike systems with static interactions, the incident wave in our setup can be scattered inelastically into different Floquet channels, absorbing or emitting quanta from the modulation field. A family of Floquet resonances is identified, at which universal recurrence relations are derived for the Floquet scattering amplitudes. These relations are equivalent to a discrete Schrödinger equation describing a pointlike source trapped by an effective potential. The resonance mechanism is explained as the coincidence of the point source's energy with the bound states of the effective potential. We discuss the scattering properties both at and near the resonances, finding that the resonance width and the ratio of the inelastic to elastic cross sections can be effectively controlled through the modulation of the interaction. Our results provide a pathway to precisely manipulate many-body interactions in periodically driven quantum systems.

Smart community, as a key component of Internet of Things (IoT), is experiencing fast booming, which significantly enhances residents' quality of life. Using fog computing to establish a smart community is an effective way to further develop smart and sustainable cities due to the reduction of bandwidth consumption and latency. However, privacy issues are emerging because the continuous attacks are putting sensitive information under great threats. Motivated by this, we propose a differentially private smart community model with personalized privacy protection. Differential privacy is deployed in a personalized way while a logarithmic function is leveraged to map data sensitivity to privacy protection level. Extensive evaluation results show the advantages of the proposed model from the perspective of the optimized trade-off between personalized privacy protection and data utility.

A broadband metamaterial absorber is proposed utilizing multilayer graphene ribbons sandwiched between dielectric layers. The absorption spectrum can be further widen by stacking graphene ribbons of different widths layer by layer. Moreover, the graphene-based absorber can tolerate a wide range of incident angles. Our study can be applied in the systems of sensing, communication and imaging. © 2019 IEEE.

Interconnection of bulk power systems necessitates high reliability of Security Stability control System (SSCS). The routine test helps reduce the risk of unavailability of the SSCS. This paper newly proposed the optimization model to decide the optimal routine test interval, and the sensitivity model with respect to the upper/lower limits of the interval. At first, the fault tree and the state space models are derived for the SSCS. Then with the objective of reducing risk (and reducing economic loss), the equality constraints of the state probabilities, and the inequality constraints of the routine test interval and the cost, the optimization model to the interval is proposed. The Lagrange multipliers are found to describe the sensitivity of the objective function with respect to the limit of the intervals. Compared with repeated calculations, the proposed models are more efficient, and can deal with multiple parameters. The numerical results are given to show the application value of the proposed models. © 2020 IEEE.

The accumulation of internal charge in the insulating medium caused by the high-energy charged particles has been one of the important factors threatening the safety of spacecrafts. As the spacecraft's orbital flight time and flight height increase, the internally charged effect of its insulating medium becomes more and more serious. In this work, we designed an internal charge distribution measuring system for an insulating medium under electron irradiation, based on the acoustic pulse method. The system could measure the internal charge of the dielectric material without contacting between the sample and the excitation unit. Furthermore, the internal charge measurements were performed on three kinds of typical spacecraft insulation medium materials (polyimide (PI), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)) under electron irradiation. The internal charge and internal electric field distribution of the specimens were obtained. This system is more suitable for studying the internal charge accumulation behavior of spacecraft's insulating medium in space environment.

In the indoor positioning application based on the Wi-Fi range-based positioning algorithm, on the one hand, due to the characteristics of the wireless propagation model, the final position of the node calculated by the range-based positioning algorithm will have a certain error, on the other hand, due to the complexity of the wireless AP deployment, it will cause some regional deployments may not meet the requirements of trilateral positioning. In response to these problems, this paper proposed an optimized Wi-Fi positioning algorithm based on virtual node optimization. On the one hand, a wireless AP with a known physical location is used as a virtual positioning node to correct the positioning results; on the other hand, a virtual AP mechanism is designed to compensate for this. Due to the problem of positioning blind spots caused by AP deployment defects, the accuracy of the Wi-Fi range-based positioning algorithm is greatly improved, and the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified through simulation verification and actual site operation tests.
