We conducted experiments to investigate the evolution of dynamics in short-resonant-cavity distributed feedback laser subject to optical feedback. Results reveal that the transition of the laser into chaos involves a regular switching between the stable state and quasi-periodic state. When exiting the chaotic state, the laser exhibits a switching between stable state and chaotic state, ultimately evolving into feedback locking. A new dynamic evolution path of the DFB laser has been proposed: stable state → switching between the stable state and quasi-periodic state → quasi-periodic state → chaotic state → switching between stable state and chaotic state → feedback locking. The influences of feedback strength on the duty cycle of quasi-periodic oscillation are examined. Moreover, a mapping of dynamics with respect to feedback strength and bias current is presented.

When a single image segmentation method is used for image segmentation of wind turbine blade images under a complex background, the results obtained are not accurate and complete. This article proposes an image segmentation algorithm that applies morphology to Canny edge detection. It uses morphological opening to Erode and dilate the binary image after Canny algorithm processing, and removes redundant edge information to obtain a complete fan blade image. Experimental results show that the results obtained by the image segmentation method proposed here have good integrity and accuracy, and can improve the segmentation effect of the image. © 2019 Institution of engineering and technology. In recently, all the developers, programmer and software engineers, they are working specially on software component and software testing to compete the software technology in the world. For this competition, they are using different kind of sources to analysis the software reliability and importance. Nowadays Data mining is one of source, which is used in software for overcome the problem of software fault which occur during the software test and its analysis. This kind of problem leads software deformity prophecy in software. In this research paper, we are also trying to overcome the software deformity prophecy problem with the help of our proposed solution called ONER rule attribute. We have used REPOSITORY datasets models, these datasets models are defected and non-defected datasets models. Our analysis class of interest is defected models. In our research, we have analyzed the efficiency of our proposed solution methods. The experiments results showed that using of ONER with discretize, have improved the efficiency of correctly classified instances in all. Using percentage split and training datasets with ONER discretize rule attribute have improved correctly classified in all datasets models. The analysis of positive accuracy f-measure is also increased in percentage split during the use of ONER with discretize but in some datasets models, the training data and cross validation is better with use of ONER rule attribute. The area under curve (ROC) in both scenarios using ONER rule attribute and discretize with ONER rule attribute is almost same or equal with each other.

Abstract-Temperature sensing characteristics of surface acoustic wave Brillouin scattering in 1-1.3 $\mu\mathrm{m}$ diameter optical microfibers are simulated by using the elastodynamic equation including the electrostrictive stress. A multi-peak Brillouin gain spectrum with rather high scattering efficiency is observed. The highest temperature sensitivity of the surface acoustic mode is 0.568 MHz/°C. Meanwhile, the temperature sensitivity of the surface acoustic mode is less affected by fiber diameter changes, ranging from 0.05 to 0.25 MHz/°C/$\mu\mathrm{m}$. It can be found that using SAW BS for temperature sensing would put less stress on manufacturing constraints for optical microfibers. Moreover, the results provide guidance for the further improving the performance of temperature sensing in the microelectronics field.

‘S’ specimen through its unique profile features makes it possible to fully mobilise the five-axis linkage function in the five-axis finishing stage. The continuous rotation direction of the rotating axis not only reflects the static error of the machine tool but also the servo system follow error, tool positioning error, profile error etc. The authors studied its influence on the accuracy of each axis of five-axis CNC machine tool by analysing the geometrical characteristics of a S specimen and using UG's CAM environment to process ‘S’ specimen. Finally, the corresponding program forming system for S specimen machining experiments is designed by LabVIEW, and the authors used macro instruction to do NC program trigger system to collect vibration signals segmentally, so that the processing and acquisition system can be synchronised. This provides a more complete basis for the test piece cutting method to evaluate performance of machine tools. © 2019 Institution of engineering and technology. All rights reserved.

Currently, some five-axis CNC machine tools have almost achieved the same advanced level of the western countries in terms of functionality and performance. However, the reliability of system is much lower than similar foreign products. The reliability has become one of bottlenecks to restrict the development of domestic CNC machine tools. At present, domestic reliability research of CNC machine tools developed rapidly, but the evaluation research is limited to a single indicator, lacking overall evaluation about it. To fully evaluate the reliability of five-axis CNC machine tools, the matter-element model of reliability evaluation is established with the application of matter-element in extension theory, and the reliability evaluation indices system is established comprehensively. The correlation functions are introduced to calculate the correlation degree, and the weights of each evaluation indices are determined by using AHP. The actual example and result on two types of domestic CNC machine tools show that the proposed method is effective, reasonable, and accurate in the process of reliability evaluation. The proposed methodology provides a detailed instruction for comprehensive reliability evaluation of CNC machine tools. © 2019 Institution of engineering and technology. All rights reserved.

In general, edge devices and edge servers in edge computing environment communicate with each other by wireless network, which put forward a high requirement for end-to-end wireless communication performance. In this paper, we propose an optimal strategy by combining the coherent beamforming (CB) technique and the successive interference cancellation (SIC) technique for improving the performance of the edge device communications. CB technique can be used for expanding the transmitter's transmitting range, while SIC technique can be used for improving the receiver's receiving ability. However, when these two techniques are used jointly, interference will occur between transmitters and receivers, which makes the CB-SIC strategy hard to be designed. We first give the mathematical model based on CB-SIC and show it is difficult to solve directly. Then, we design a heuristic algorithm called time slot loop allocation (TSLA) algorithm. TSLA is based on greedy strategy to obtain an approximate optimal solution. By using TSLA, the whole scheduling time will be divided into many time slots. In each time slot, we try to make as many edge devices as possible to transmit data to the server. These can increase the overall data throughput. In simulation, we compare CB-SIC wireless network with CB only, SIC only, and traditional multi-hop network. Simulation results show that the TSLA algorithm can improve the end-to-end communication performance in edge computing environment.

Objected to the planetary gear transmission, research on the fault diagnosis of gear cracks is mainly carried out with method of EEMD decomposition and Envelope demodulation. During the process, EEMD decomposition is used to the experiment data and continuously parameters of the root mean square (RMS) value, peak-to-peak (PtP) value, kurtosis (Kr), and other parameters of the IMF components are computed. According those parameters, the signal is reconstructed and after band-pass filtering the Hilbert transform and the envelope demodulation are carried out. The results showed that the power spectrum information obtained by using the EEMD decomposition and Hilbert transform could effectively response fault characteristics of the gear crack in the planetary transmission. The research is beneficial to the gear meshing fault diagnosis of the planetary transmission quickly and accurately and has a positive engineering value. © 2019 Institution of engineering and technology. The wargame deduction is the application of wargame. It refers to the use of boards and wargame pieces representing the battlefield and its military power, or based on the virtual battlefield environment and force of the computer, based on military rules and probability theory, simulating war confrontation. The process deduction and evaluation optimization of the combat plan is an activity that uses wargame to simulate war and is a tool for combat simulation. In this paper, the actual or assumed situation is used to simulate the military actions of two or more opposing parties. The deep reinforcement learning and exploration strategy is used to improve the realistic function of the wargame simulation and the deductive pushability function, and systematically study the wargame technology.
