This study studies the height and attitude tracking control problem of an unmanned helicopter system with disturbances. A composite controller based on the combination of harmonic disturbance observers and backstepping technique is proposed to achieve asymptotic tracking for height and attitude. Firstly, harmonic disturbance observers (HDOB) are designed to estimate the unknown disturbances affecting each channel. Then, a composite controller is proposed by integrating the backstepping control technique and the HDOB technique together to achieve the height and attitude tracking goal. Stability analysis of the closed-loop system is given. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to verify the efficiency of the proposed control scheme. © 2019 Institution of engineering and technology. All rights reserved.

Synthesis of Agomelatine by One-pot Catalytic Hydrogenation and Acetylation with NiO

Nano-NiO and bulk NiO were prepared from Ni(AC)_2·4 H_2O by coordination precipitation using aqueous ammonia and by a solid state reaction, respectively. The nickel oxide particles were characterized by X-ray Diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The results indicate that nano-sized NiO has a crystal phase with a standard face-centered cubic lattice structure, with a mean particle diameter of about 10 nm. The evaluation of the activity of nickel oxide nanoparticles in the catalytic hydrogenation of 7-methoxy-1-naphthylacetonitrile was carried out. The results demonstrate the efficient synthesis of the title compound by a one-pot catalytic hydrogenation and acetylation with NiO. The NiO nanoparticles displayed superior catalytic activity in the synthesis of agomelatine in the one-pot *** total yield of agomelatine is over 81.8% with a purity of 99.2%, as determined by HPLC. The structure of agomelatine was confirmed by IR, MS, and 1 H NMR analysis.

New energy storage vehicles which use supercapacitors (SCs) as the unique source of traction power are developing rapidly recently. To satisfy the operating voltage requirement of energy storage vehicle, hundreds of SCs are needed to be connected in series. In this case, there is a voltage imbalance between the energy storage cells during rapid charging, resulting in reduced energy efficiency and service life of the energy storage device. A layered equalisation scheme is proposed to solve the problem of voltage imbalance. A single-input multiple-output synchronous rectification equalising circuit is proposed to ensure voltage consistency of series supercapacitor monomer in bottom module. The proposed circuit resolves the existing slow balancing speed and low-voltage balancing precision problems in the current supercapacitor equalising circuits. Meanwhile, an equalisation strategy based on module SOC is adopted to solve voltage imbalance problem of the upper supercapacitor module. The results of MATLAB/Saber co-simulation and experiment demonstrate that the layered equalisation system achieves the target of fast equilibrium and high precision balance. © 2019 Institution of engineering and *** right reserved.

This study proposes an analytical method for calibrating and orienting online photogrammetric systems using a scale bar. The primary idea is building control lengths in the measurement volume by moving and rotating the scale bar and then conducting a self-calibration bundle adjustment using images of the control lengths. In this study, the five-point relative orientation method is used to provide estimations of the exterior camera parameters. Additionally, this study elaborates the model of the lengths constrained self-calibration bundle adjustment, the block computation algorithm and the accuracy assessment. This method obtains both the interior and the exterior orientation parameters of the two cameras, and provides spatial bar length reconstruction precision as the performance evaluation. Simulations are conducted to analyze the calibration accuracy and the results show that the method achieves comparable accuracy and precision against the state-of-the-art method. However, the method does not need steady and well distributed 3D points and is easy to operate. —Transfer learning (TL) utilizes data or knowledge from one or more source domains to facilitate the learning in a target domain. It is particularly useful when the target domain has very few or no labeled data, due to annotation expense, privacy concerns, etc. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of TL is not always guaranteed. Negative transfer (NT), i.e., leveraging source domain data/knowledge undesirably reduces the learning performance in the target domain, has been a long-standing and challenging problem in TL. Various approaches have been proposed in the literature to handle it. However, there does not exist a systematic survey on the formulation of NT, the factors leading to NT, and the algorithms that mitigate NT. This paper fills this gap, by first introducing the definition of NT and its factors, then reviewing about fifty representative approaches for overcoming NT, according to four categories: secure transfer, domain similarity estimation, distant transfer, and NT mitigation. NT in related fields, e.g., multi-task learning, lifelong learning, and adversarial attacks, are also discussed. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Existing intelligent fault diagnosis models for equipment are insufficient in time-consuming and complication, making it hard to apply to practice. A novel intelligent diagnosis model has been carried out in this paper to improve this issue. Firstly, the process that experts realize the reasoning diagnosis by experience is analyzed to design an intelligent analysis flow. Based on the probabilistic neural network, the fault knowledge learning and reasoning from a large number of samples are carried out. Then the fault knowledge is mapped into a high-dimensional spatial distribution to realize the optimization of the probabilistic neural network. Finally, the fault bearing data is used to verify model performance. © 2019 IEEE.

The focus of this contribution is twofold. The first part aims at the rigorous and complete analysis of pole loci of a simple delayed model, the characteristic function of which is represented by a quasi-polynomial with a non-delay and a delay parameter. The derived spectrum constitutes an infinite set, making it a suitable and simple-enough representative of even high-order process dynamics. The second part intends to apply the simple infinite-dimensional model for relay-based parameter identification of a more complex model of a heating-cooling process with heat exchangers. Processes of this type and construction are widely used in industry. The identification procedure has two substantial steps. The first one adopts the simple model with a low computational effort using the saturated relay that provides a more accurate estimation than the standard on/off test. Then, this result is transformed to the estimation of the initial characteristic equation parameters of the complex infinite-dimensional heat-exchanger model using the exact dominant-pole-loci assignment. The benefit of this technique is that multiple model parameters can be estimated under a single relay test. The second step attempts to estimate the remaining model parameters by various numerical optimization techniques and also to enhance all model parameters via the Autotune Variation Plus relay experiment for comparison. Although the obtained unordinary time and frequency domain responses may yield satisfactory results for control tasks, the identified model parameters may not reflect the actual values of process physical quantities. © 2021, CC BY.

Detecting substation equipment in aerial infrared images is a critical task in automatic visual fault inspection for power systems. However, the uneven spatial distribution of objects, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) viewpoint variations, object scale variations, and rare computational resources pose significant challenges for substation equipment detection. This article proposes a substation equipment detection network (SEDNet) for UAV automatic power inspection. First, a long-distance feature capture (LDFC) attention is proposed to guide the network to focus on learning features in important regions and to capture the information that it is prone to miss at the border of an image. Moreover, a lightweight, GS cross-stage partial (GSCSP) structure is proposed to improve the speed of feature processing. Second, a multilayer receptive field feature enhancement module (MRFFEM) is constructed to extract diverse, fine-grained features of objects using multiple convolutional branches. Last, to effectively detect multiscale objects, we propose a concatenation and reorganization enhanced feature pyramid module (CREFPM). The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of SEDNet on a multiclass, substation equipment, infrared image dataset, achieving a detection accuracy of 99.2% and a real-time detection speed of 105.3 frames/s, which outperforms state-of-the-art models in terms of mAP. SEDNet successfully meets the requirements for accurate and real-time substation equipment inspection in complex scenarios.

Night is the period of fatigue for drivers and of accidents *** night,Ambient lighting is weak,and the full-in light of visible light influence the normal *** to these conditions,a infrared active vision fatigue detection design for night driving is ***,the 940 nm light source with no red is adopted to perform fill-in light,by which imaging quality is developed and the interference of ambient light is ***,the existing fatigue detection algorithm is *** location and tracing is realized with STdaboost and KLT *** are located by gray-level integration method for Gabor transformation,which increases the accuracy of eye ***,the fatigue is judged by PERCLOS *** experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can detect fatigue driving around the clock,and the accuracy of eye positioning is more than 90%,the accuracy of eye state recognition is more than 87%.The proposed method can resolve the problem about driving fatigue at night,so there is great significance for lowering the risk of traffic accidents especially at night.

In the field of indoor positioning, ultra-wideband (UWB) communication technology is the key technology. But the errors caused by non-line of sight (NLOS) communication channels could greatly affect the positioning accuracy. Therefore, identifying the channel type can effectively avoid the above-mentioned errors, thereby helping to reduce the loss of positioning accuracy. This paper proposes a LOS/NLOS channel identification method by using a convolutional neural network (CNN) to identifying the impulse response figures of the channels. This method is capable of identifying four different types of channel impulse response figures and providing excellent identification accuracy. The results show that the accuracy of identifying LOS (0-4m), NLOS (0-4m), NLOS (4-10m) and extreme NLOS channel impulse response figures can reach 98.24%.
