By observing the fact that moving in a straight line is a common flying behavior of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in normal applications, e.g., power line inspections, and air patrols along with highway/streets/borders, in this paper we investigate the secrecy outage performance of a UAV system with linear trajectory, where a UAV (S) flies in a straight line and transmits its information over the downlink to a legitimate receiver (D) on the ground while an eavesdropping UAV (E) trying to overhear the information delivery between S and D. Meanwhile, some information is delivered to S over the uplink from D, such as commanding messages to control S’s detecting operations, which can also be eavesdropped by E. The locations of S, D, and E are randomly distributed. The motion capture system that supports full-body virtual representation is of key significance for virtual reality. Compared to vision-based systems, full-body pose estimation from sparse tracking signals is not limited by environmental conditions or recording range. However, previous works either face the challenge of wearing additional sensors on the pelvis and lower-body or rely on external visual sensors to obtain global positions of key joints. To improve the practicality of the technology for virtual reality applications, we estimate full-body poses using only inertial data obtained from three Inertial measurement Unit (IMU) sensors worn on the head and wrists, thereby reducing the complexity of the hardware system. In this work, we propose a method called Progressive Inertial Poser (ProgIP) for human pose estimation, which combines neural network estimation with a human dynamics model, considers the hierarchical structure of the kinematic chain, and employs a multi-stage progressive network estimation with increased depth to reconstruct full-body motion in real time. The encoder combines Transformer Encoder and bidirectional LSTM (TE-biLSTM) to flexibly capture the temporal dependencies of the inertial sequence, while the decoder based on multi-layer perceptrons (MLPs) transforms high-dimensional features and accurately projects them onto Skinned Multi-Person Linear (SMPL) model parameters. Quantitative and qualitative experimental results on multiple public datasets show that our method outperforms state-of-the-art methods with the same inputs, and is comparable to recent works using six IMU sensors. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) based communications have emerged as a new paradigm. This letter proposes a differential reflecting modulation (DRM) scheme for RIS based communication systems. In DRM, information bits are jointly carried by the activation permutations of the reflecting patterns and the phases of the transmitted signals, leading to that DRM can work without any channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter, RIS or receiver. In other words, DRM can release the intricate and resource-consuming channel estimation in the transmission process. Simulation results show that the proposed DRM pays acceptable SNR penalty compared to non-differential modulation scheme with coherent detection. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The scalability of photonic implementations of fault-tolerant quantum computing based on Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill (GKP) qubits is injured by the requirements of inline squeezing and reconfigurability of the linear optical network. In this work we propose a topologically error-corrected architecture that does away with these elements at no cost—in fact, at an advantage—to state preparation overheads. Our computer consists of three modules: a two-dimensional (2D) array of probabilistic sources of GKP states; a depth-four circuit of static beam splitters, phase shifters, and short delay lines; and a 2D array of homodyne detectors. The symmetry of our proposed circuit allows us to combine the effects of finite squeezing and uniform photon loss within the noise model, resulting in more comprehensive threshold estimates. These jumps over both architectural and analytical hurdles considerably expedite the construction of a photonic quantum computer.

As a high order and non-linear complex system, a control-oriented reduced order model is first designed for the 5kW solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system, and then its dynamic and static performances with the four temperature layers, three temperature layers, and two temperature layers are respectively discussed. Although the simulation results show some theoretical design error with the different operating points in the different temperature layer system model, including the electrical static output characteristics (V-P characteristic curve, current density distribution), thermal static output characteristic (solid layer temperature, temperature distribution at the air side), and fluid static output characteristics (H 2 O > H 2 and O 2 ), the reduced order system model can reflect the static characteristics of the SOFC stand-alone system pretty accurately. As the response curve and response time scale of dynamic output characteristics (current density, fuel cell output voltage, and system output power) tend the same in the different temperature layers model, thus it can be argued that the characteristics of the original model are very effectively retained in the reduced order model. Finally, two temperature layers model not only dramatically reduces the complexity of the model, but also shows the higher precision, which should be preferred in the controller design.

Considering two temperature layers model of 5 kW SOFC (solid oxide fuel cell) stack not only dramatically reduces complexity of the model, but also shows the higher precision, which should be preferred in the controller design. Taylor series for the model are adopted, and then based on the static output power point, the constrained predictive controller is designed considering the fuel exhaustion and thermal constraints. The temperature and its gradient, output power, and fuel exhaustion are emphatically analyzed, which can ensure the fast power tracking and thermal safety simultaneously. Besides, the control standards of the fuel exhaustion show more rigorous compared to operating safety, which is comprehensively considered during controller design. The result shows that although power tracking process accelerated with the increase of the current regulation rate, the risk coefficient of the operating safety is increasing too.

In the past localization methods, both mechanical and phased array radars require angle scanning because their beampatterns are only angle-dependent, resulting in the echo time difference only contains the range information of the target. It will cause some ambiguity problems and limitations. Since Frequency Diverse Array (FDA) was proposed, its range-angle dependent beampattern provided more degrees of freedom (DoFs) to obtain more information in array signal processing. However, how to use these increased DoFs to get more information still needs to be studied. In this paper, we propose a novel localization method using FDA beam intersection. In this proposed method, part of the FDA beampattern approximates a straight line and propagates throughout the range axis. This moving beam line can capture the target like a fast-moving net and the echo time difference contains both the angle and range information of the target. By a simple straight-line intersection, we can obtain the whole position information, where two FDA beam lines intersect at the target. A simulation diagram is provided to illustrate the proposed localization process.

In the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) speed control system, an improved active disturbance rejection control strategy with higher tracking accuracy for time-varying input is proposed. The traditional active disturbance rejection controller is mainly used for fast and static-free tracking of step signals, but there is a large tracking error for time-varying signals, which limits the application of active disturbance rejection controller. In this paper, the theoretical analysis of the existence of steady-state error is carried out, and then an improved speed active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) with derivative feedforward and parallel linear extended state observer(P-LESO) is designed to reduce the tracking error of the system. In order to observe and compensate the reverse electromotive force in real time and reduce the current following error, a current loop linear active disturbance rejection controller is designed. By constructing Simulink simulation model for verification, the control system not only improves the tracking accuracy of PMSM for time-varying input, but also has a good dynamic performance for step input.

The design of digital systems in modern communication systems, network transmission systems, and computer multimedia systems has developed by leaps and bounds. The speed and accuracy of the interface circuit between analog and digital have become the key and bottleneck for the vigorous development of digital systems in the future. Correspondingly, the requirements for high-precision ADC performance testing technology and functional verification schemes are also getting higher and higher, and they have gradually been upgraded to an important technical obstacle that needs to be resolved, blocking the innovation of information technology in my country. This thesis first briefly introduces the static and dynamic test principles and techniques of high-precision ADC chips, summarizes the performance indicators of ADCs, and expounds the definitions of commonly used test parameters in more detail. Subsequently, modular equipment was used to build a high-performance test platform and a functional verification platform, and a software and hardware test platform was built with PXI modular equipment as the core to complete the system debugging and data processing of each part. The static parameters, Dynamic parameter indicators are measured and analyzed. The test verification system and research program of this program show that it meets the key index test and functional characteristic verification of high-precision ADC, and its test method has good flexibility, completeness, programmability, and versatility.
