Electrical properties and thermally stable property of lead-free BNT-BT-KNN ceramics at the morphotropic phase boundary region

Lead-free BNT-BT based ceramics exhibit significant potential for achieving high piezoelectric performance. However, it is an effective strategy to achieve a morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) region with good thermal stability remains challenging. Herein, the incorporation of K0.5Na0.5NbO3 into the Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3-BaTiO3 binary system was explored, leading to a significant enhancement in both piezoelectric performance and thermal stability. The ternary BNT-BT-KNN ceramic system was systematically investigated with respect to its phase diagram, crystal structure, electrical properties, and relaxation behavior. It was observed that both the grain size and domain size gradually decrease as the KNN content increases. Remarkable electromechanical coupling factor (kp = 0.217), exceptionally high piezoelectric properties (d33 = 105 pC/N), and improved (Td = 164 °C) were achieved at BNT-BT-0.01KNN ceramics. The phase diagram of BNT-BT-KNN has been established, offering a comprehensive roadmap for the development of high-performance piezoelectric ceramics with enhanced piezoelectric responses. Target detection has been widely used in fields such as intelligent security and autonomous driving. However, existing computationally heavy target detection algorithms based on deep learning can only work on GPU and CPU platforms, restricting the applications on edge devices with limited computational power. To address this issue, this paper proposes layer fusion and 16-bit fixed-point quantization on the YOLOv2-Tiny algorithm to reduce the computational complexity of target detection algorithms. Furthermore, the data transmission efficiency is optimized by using ping-pong butter and multi-channel methods. To reduce FPGA resource consumption, the neural network is split into convolution, accumulation, pooling, and address mapping modules. The proposed system has been successfully implemented on the Xilinx Zynq-XC7Z035 platform, using only 47% of BRAM resources and 18% of DSP resources. © 2022 IEEE.

To address the issue of clutter interference in ground-penetrating radar (GPR) imaging using a VNA (Vector Network Analyzer), this paper improves the traditional reverse time migration (RTM) technique for ultra-wideband GPR imaging. The improved method retains the effective signals in the detection wavefield as the valid imaging area and suppresses signals in non-valid areas. Due to variations in the distance between the transmitting and receiving antennas and the number of anomalies in the experiment, the traditional time window cross-correlation is not ideal for this scenario. The improved method automatically applies reasonable windowing to each data channel, avoiding the simultaneous enhancement of clutter interference and effective signals through direct stacking, and preventing the filtering out of effective signals. Experimental results demonstrate that this method, when applied to real measured data and compared with the traditional cross-correlation RTM method, shows advantages in more accurately locating anomalous areas and suppressing clutter interference. This validates that the Multiple Time-Gating Reverse Time Migration (MTG-RTM) method offers better localization and higher imaging accuracy in practical engineering applications. © 2024 IEEE.

For the problem of large torque ripple of the traditional permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) model to predict the torque ripple of the control system, an improved DSVM finite set model prediction current control (FCS-MPC) strategy of PMSM is proposed. The use of DSVM technology to increase the optional voltage vector effectively reduces the error between the reference voltage vector and the prediction voltage vector, thereby reducing current and torque ripple. To avoid enumeration the voltage vector and calculation online of duty cycle, this strategy optimizes the voltage vector table in two steps, and then directly finds the corresponding duty cycle table, so that the voltage vectors in the prediction process are reduced from 38 to 14. At the same time, the duty cycle table is used to fix the switching frequency by linear combination of fixed voltage vectors. The new control strategy reduces current and torque ripple and reduces the computational burden added by the DSVM method. The Simulink simulation is verified, and the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. © 2022 IEEE.

Sensors based on optical resonators often have their measurement range limited by their cavity linewidth,particularly in the measurement of time-varying *** paper introduces a method for optical frequency shift detection using multiple harmonics to expand the dynamic range of sensors based on optical *** proposed method expands the measurement range of optical frequency shift beyond the cavity linewidth while maintaining measurement *** theoretical derivation of this method is carried out based on the equation of motion for an optical resonator and the recursive relationship of the Bessel *** results show that the dynamic range is expanded to 4 times greater than the conventional first harmonic method while still maintaining ***,we present an objective analysis of the correlation between the expansion factor of the method and the linewidth and free spectrum of the optical resonator.

In this paper, we investigate the safe task offloading and primary node selection in blockchain, digital twin (DT) and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) enabled Internet of Vehicles (IoV). Edge servers centers provide computing power for task processing for Mobile Vehicles (MVs), while blockchain can provide security guarantees for MVs during task offloading. Based on the above system, we propose a joint optimization scheme for vehicle task offloading decision and the Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) consensus process. Due to the large number of optimization variables and constraints, the problem becomes more complex. Traditional convex optimization and dynamic programming methods are difficult to effectively solve this problem. To address this issue, we propose a deep reinforcement learning based algorithm that utilizes Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO). The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper outperforms the benchmark algorithm in terms of convergence and other aspects. © 2024 IEEE.

Limited reliability data during the development of cruise ship automation systems often leads to subjective weight allocation. This paper proposes an reliability allocation method based on the Bayesian best-worst method and analytic hierarchy process to address this challenge. By considering the system reliability indices, influencing factors, and units need to be allocated, a hierarchical model is established for reliability allocation based on the analytic hierarchy process. The Bayesian best-worst method compares elements in each layer, generating best and worst matrices based on decision-makers. These matrices determine optimal weights for each layer’s elements. The analytic hierarchy process determines relative importance weights among the system reliability index, influencing factors, and units. Consequently, the derived optimal weights are converted into allocation factors, which enable the allocation of reliability for cruise ship automation systems. This fusion-based approach presents a novel and effective method for optimizing reliability allocation during the development stage of complex systems.

Enhancing vehicle reliability is of paramount importance during the research and development phase, with reliability growth testing playing a crucial role in this process. Traditional reliability growth testing often treats vehicle failures under varying environmental conditions with uniform significance, overlooking the specific impacts these conditions may have on failure occurrence. This paper aims to illuminate the influence of environmental factors on vehicle failures. To explore the relationship between vehicle failures and the contexts in which they occur, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was employed. The findings indicate that a diversified testing approach, which assigns different levels of importance to various testing scenarios, is recommended. This approach is likely to yield a more nuanced understanding of vehicle performance and foster a more effective strategy for enhancing reliability. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

This article suggests a self-sensing gripper that is driven by a single Shape memory alloy (SMA) spring to enable precise self-sensing. The gripper that is in normally open mode consists of two arms, one of which is fixed and an SMA spring actuator controls the other. This article demonstrates that the variation in the resistance of the shape memory alloy spring reveals phase transitions and can be used to detect the position of the gripper arm, enabling position control. The development of self-sensing technology broadens the concept of gripper sensing, which helps to advance compactness and miniaturization. This work suggests the design, manufacture, and characterization of a gripper that gives the benefit of sensorless position control. © 2023 IEEE.
