In order to improve location precision and speed of base circle in PCB (Printed Circuit Board) detecting, an algorithm for circle subpixel location detection was presented. At first, the edge points could be obtained from edge detecting the filtered image using canny operator, then the circle approximately position and its parameter could be gained through dealing with the edge points using point Hough transformation;secondly, the circle's edge points could be got through deleting big noise points according to the circle's parameter, then the circle's subpixel edge points could be obtained from subdividing the circle's edge points;finally the circle's precision location and its parameter could be obtained through fitting the circle's subpixel edge points using least square method. The experiments demonstrate that this algorithm can detect the base circle's subpixel location and its parameter. The center location precision is up to 0.5 pixel, and the radius detection precision is up to 0.3 pixel, and the speed is very high.

In order to restrain odd-order harmonic distortion and common model disturbing signal effectively, a MOCC II-based filter circuit with high-order fully differential leapfrog-type current mode is presented and corresponding design scheme is proposed. The PSPICE simulation to 4th Butterworth filter with 1 MHz but frequency is made. Simulation results show that the circuit can restrain odd-order harmonic distortion and common model disturbing signal more effectively, with low sensitifity of passive LC ladder-type network.

Wavelet transform is an ideal way for edge detection because of its multi-scale property, localization both in time and frequency domain, sensitivity to the abrupt change of signals, and so on. An improved algorithm for image edge detection based on Lifting Scheme is proposed in this paper. The simulation results show that our improved method can better reflect edge information of images.

In order to judge accurately the fault component of an analog circuit, a fuzzy neural networks fault classifier was designed based on BP neural networks and fuzzy logical theory, and it was used in the photovoltaic radar electronic equipment fault diagnosis. By measuring the temperature and voltage of the circuit component, the membership function of the two sensors to the circuit component was obtained, the data fusion was done by using a fuzzy BP neural networks classifier, the fusion fault membership function of all the fault-doubted circuit components was obtained, and the real fault component was found based on the fusion data. By comparing the diagnosis results based on a separate original data and fused date respectively, it was shown that the latter is more accurate than the former in circuit fault recognition.

Detecting ship wakes from spaceborne SAR images is significant. But it is particularly difficult, especially detecting-thin line features. Because those features are not only affected by speckle but also affected by various other factors and the image resolution is often coarser than the wide of the corresponding objects. In this paper, an algorithm is developed based on line-support regions of similar gradient orientation and the Radon-transform. It was found that this approach works fairly well for the images where the ship wakes are by no means distinct.

As robot technology is evolving and creating a social community between humans and robots, it is necessary to research and develop a new type of intelligence, which we refer to as "social intelligence". Social intelligence enables natural and socially appropriate interactions. Its importance is gaining a growing interest among not just the human-computer interaction researchers but also robot technology researchers and developers. This article discusses the definition, importance, and benefits of social intelligence in human and robot collaborative systems. The virtual social environment is employed to implement an experimental social intelligence system because of its low cost and high flexibility. Software robots (i.e. agents) with the social intelligence model have been implemented by featuring an emotion model and a personality model under the virtual environment. The social intelligence model that handles affective responses is based on the theories of personality, emotion, and human-media interaction such as cognitive appraisal theory and Media Equation. The experiment was conducted with the virtual learning collaborative system to examine the effect of the social intelligence model in the collaborative system. The data showed that the users had more positive impressions about the usefulness and the application and learning experience when the cooperative agent displayed some social responses with personality and emotions. It should be noted here that the cooperative agent did not provide any explicit assistance for the human user such as giving clues and showing answers, and yet the user's evaluation on the usefulness of the learning system was influenced by the social agent. The data also suggested that the cooperative agent contributed to the effectiveness of the learning system.

In autonomous distributed robot systems many robots cooperate together to carry out many difficult tasks that single robots can not realize. But, in order to cooperate together the robots should communicate with each other. Therefore, the inter-communication among robots is very important problem to be solved. We propose an adaptive reservation-time division multiple access (AR-TDMA) medium access control protocol which can realize a real-time communication among robots in a heterogeneous environment by using a reservation mechanism. Also, by using an adaptive time slot allocation method, the protocol has a flexible behavior and can deal with the changes of number of robots. Furthermore, the proposed protocol can reduce the packet collision probability.

In this paper a novel three-phase line-interactive UPS system with parallel-series active power-line conditioning capability using AC line reactor and two four-leg voltage source converter (VSC) is proposed. The four-leg VSC can use the DC-link voltage effectively by the 3-D SVPWM method. Hence the DC battery voltage can be reduced by 15% in comparison to that of the conventional line-interactive UPS system. The parallel inverter operating as a shunt active filter is a controlled voltage source and controls the three-phase line voltage independently in order to control the source current. It eliminates the neutral line current and the active ripple power of the source side using the dqo transformation so that unity power factor and the sinusoidal source current can be achieved even though both the source and the load voltages have zero sequence components. The series inverter operating as dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) compensates the load voltage and allows it to be balanced and harmonic-free. Both of the series and shunt inverters always act as independently controllable voltage sources, so that the three-phase output voltage can show a seamless transition to the backup mode. The feasibility of the proposed UPS system has been investigated and verified through experimental results.
