Wearable bioimpedance devices are a growing trend toward low-power and portable devices. These devices offer many advantages, including portability, convenience, and integration into daily life. However, wearable BIS devices face power consumption issues. Reducing the frequencies in the stimulation signal has been proposed to address this issue. This study investigates the effect of minimizing the number of excitation signals on BIS performance using synthetic data from a Cole-Cole model. In the absence of noise, the simulation indicates that two frequencies are sufficient to reconstruct the impedance of a dispersion. When simulating noise variance levels of 10%, 5%, and 1%, the accuracy of component values and their relationship to frequency is affected. It should be noted that beyond a certain threshold, the results or component values are not significantly improved in the presence of noise by increasing the number of frequencies. However, when dealing with noise levels up to about 1%, it is critical to use at least three frequencies to accurately reconstruct the impedance spectrum. This approach reduces power consumption while maintaining the accuracy of the BIS measurements.

With the increasing concern about the safety of oil transportation, the ILI technology is becoming more and more important. By utilizing the pulsed eddy current with strong excitation and penetration ability, the ILI tool can conduct detections on different types of damages to pipelines. As the extremely slow response of the eddy current leads to the problem of low resolution in pipeline damage detection, a multi-cabin model is proposed to make up for the sparse measurement points of the traditional eddy current method. We have designed a multi-cabin ILI system and simulated the proposed model through COMSOL software. The results show that this method can not only more accurately determine the location of the defect, improve the longitudinal resolution of the instrument, but also depict the defect shape. This method and system are the applications in the construction of the transient electromagnetic technology practice platform, which enhances the ability of students to solve complex engineering problems.

In this study, we investigate the joint relay selection and power allocation problem for underwater acoustic communication networks with energy harvesting to maximize the cumulative capacity. We specially formulate a heterogeneous reinforcement learning-based framework. In the different decision layers, the Upper Confidence Bound 1 and enhanced Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient algorithms are employed to efficiently explore the discrete and continuous action spaces, respectively. Therefore, the solving difficulty of the complex hybrid discrete-continuous optimization problem can be significantly mitigated. Furthermore, a circular interaction structure is constructed to facilitate the exchange of decision-making information between the two decision layers. The strongly interdependent relationship of the different substrategies can be comprehensively considered, thereby improving the entire performance of thejoint strategy. Moreover, we propose an adaptive reward function, which can guide the user to balance the instantaneous capacity and interruptions, thereby effectively utilizing the green energy harvesting technology and enhancing long-term cumulative performance. The star sensor, while delivering superior accuracy in spacecraft attitude measurement, is susceptible to disturbances such as high-dynamic motion, stray light, and environmental factors. These disruptions can lead to a substantial decline in accuracy or even abnormal output, risking spacecraft disorientation and mission failure. To address this, we propose an optimization-based tightly-coupled scheme, augmenting accuracy under dynamic conditions and fortifying resilience in situations like lost-in-space. Our approach involves visual-inertial measurement preprocessing, estimator initialization, and precision enhancement through minimizing visual and inertial constraints. A keyframe-based sliding window mitigates potential failures in visual sensor measurements. Numerical tests demonstrate a 30% improvement in yaw and pitch angle accuracy and a 50% enhancement in roll angle accuracy compared to the star sensor under identical dynamic conditions. © 2024, The Authors. Pedestrian detection under occlusion scenes remains a formidable challenge in computer vision. Recently, anchor-free approach has been raised on the object detection and pedestrian detection field, anchor-free detector Center and Scale Prediction (CSP) has been proposed in pedestrian detection without special measures for occlusion. In this paper, we propose an anchor-free detector named OCSP with power ful occlusion handling ability to existing anchor-free detection network. OCSP integrates prior information into the network to handle occlusion. This high-fusion prior information gives the detector a hint about identifying the structural features of pedestrians. OCSP becomes more robust with the prior information which fusion the semantic head, the visible part, and the size and center body for each pedestrian. The detector enhances the perception of occlusion by predicting the semantic head and visible part. Besides, we design a head branch and add predicting the visible box to achieve a similar result. Experiments show that this fusion of prior information represents a suitable combination. We compare our OCSP with state-of-arts models on the Citypersons dataset, the proposed OCSP detector achieves the state-of-arts result on the CityPersons benchmark. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Aiming at the shortcomings of existing venturi steam traps in practical application, a new type of venturi steam trap with self-adaptive flow rate was proposed. The structure of the venturi steam trap has the characteristics of automatic drainage and good drainage effect, small size, low failure rate and long service life. Of venturi steam hydrophobic internal parts structure design theory, the new type of venturi tube throat diameter was determined and the expansion period of Angle and length, using FLUENT software to the new designed venturi steam trap are simulated, and compared with the original venturi steam drain structure carries out a comparative analysis on the simulation results, the simulation results show that: The effect of hydrophobicity is more obvious when the venturi tube is extended. The new venturi steam trap was cast and tested on the spot. The test results showed that the experimental results were highly consistent with the theoretical results, and the new Venturi steam trap could meet the technological requirements.

Relay Satellite Assisted LEO Constellation NOMA communication System

This paper proposes a relay satellite assisted low earth orbit (LEO) constellation non-orthogonal multiple access combined beamforming (R-NOMA-BF) communication system, where multiple antenna LEO satellites deliver information to ground non-orthogonal users. To measure the service quality, we formulate a resource allocation problem to minimize the second-order difference between the achievable capacity and user request traffic. Based on the above problem, joint optimization for LEO satellite-cell assignment factor, NOMA power and BF vector is taken into account. The optimization variables are analyzed with respect to feasibility and non-convexity. Additionally, we provide a pair of effective algorithms, i.e., doppler shift LEO satellite-cell assisted monotonic programming of NOMA with BF vector (D-mNOMA-BF) and ant colony pathfinding based NOMA exponential cone programming with BF vector (A-eNOMA-BF). Two compromise algorithms regarding the above are also presented. Numerical results show that: 1) D-mNOMA-BF and A-eNOMA-BF algorithms are superior to that of orthogonal multiple access based BF (OMA-BF) and polarization multiplexing schemes;2) With the increasing number of antennas and single satellite power, R-NOMA-BF system is able to expand users satisfaction;and 3) By comparing various imperfect successive interference cancellation, the performance of A-mNOMA-BF algorithm exceeds D-mNOMA-BF. Terahertz (THz) communication technology is regarded as a promising enabler for achieving ultra-high data rate transmission in next-generation communication systems. To mitigate the high path loss in THz systems, the transmitting beams are typically narrow and highly directional, which makes it difficult for a single beam to serve multiple users simultaneously. To address this challenge, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), which can dynamically manipulate the wireless propagation environment, have been integrated into THz communication systems to extend coverage. Existing works mostly remain theoretical analysis and simulation, while prototype validation of RIS-assisted THz communication systems is scarce. In this paper, we designed a liquid crystal-based RIS operating at 220 GHz supporting both single-user and multi-user communication scenarios, followed by a RIS-aided THz communication system prototype. To enhance the system performance, we developed a beamforming method including a real-time power feedback control, which is compatible with both single-beam and multi-beam modes. To support simultaneous multi-user transmission, we designed an OFDM-based resource allocation scheme. In our experiments, the received power gain with RIS is no less than 10 dB in the single-beam mode, and no less than 5 dB in the multi-beam mode. With the assistance of RIS, the achievable rate of the system could reach 2.341 Gbps with 3 users sharing 400 MHz bandwidth and the bit error rate (BER) of the system decreased sharply. Finally, an image transmission experiment was conducted to vividly show that the receiver could recover the transmitted information correctly with the help of RIS. Brain computer interface (BCI) applications in robotics are becoming more famous and famous. People with disabilities are facing a real-time problem of doing simple activities such as grasping, handshaking etc. in order to aid with this problem, the use of brain signals to control actuators is showing a great importance. The Emotive Insight, a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) device, is utilized in this project to collect brain signals and transform them into commands for controlling a robotic arm using an Arduino controller. The Emotive Insight captures brain signals, which are subsequently analyzed using Emotive software and connected with Arduino code. The HITI Brain software integrates these devices, allowing for smooth communication between brain activity and the robotic arm. This system demonstrates how brain impulses may be utilized to control external devices directly. The results showed that the system is applicable efficiently to robotic arms and also for prosthetic arms with Multi Degree of Freedom.
