Due to the impact of excessive influent water quality and water quantity fluctuations, current industrial effluent treatment plants (IETPs) cannot maintain stable decontamination capabilities, posing serious threats to the ecological environment. Thus, It is imperative to predict the influent quality of IETPs to facilitate predictive maintenance. However, due to industrial wastewater's highly nonlinear nature and variability, single-model often limits the accuracy of predictions. Therefore, this study innovatively constructs a comprehensive and highly adaptable hybrid deep learning prediction framework, GCN-CNNGA. By integrating GCN, CNN, GRU, and Attention Mechanism, it effectively captures the high-dimension features of influent data and the complex nonlinear spatiotemporal patterns among variables. Specifically, CNN is used to extract key local features from the IETP time series accurately. Building on this, GCN is utilized to further capture the topological information among key influent parameters, revealing their interconnections and deeply mining the complex dependencies among pollutants. Then, GRU effectively captures long-term dependencies not considered in the above processes, while the attention mechanism optimizes weight distribution, overall enhancing the precision of predictions. In real data testing at a wastewater treatment plant in an industrial park in East China, the GCN-CNNGA model outperforms mainstream prediction methods in terms of prediction accuracy and robustness. The findings of this study offer a high-accuracy prediction model that is expected to significantly improve the predictive maintenance level of IETPs, providing strong technical support for maintaining optimal operational conditions and having significant implications for protecting the ecological environment and promoting sustainable development. © 2024, The Authors. Performance Analysis of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Assisted Two-Way NOMA Networks

This paper investigates the performance of reconfigurable intelligent surface assisted two-way non-orthogonal multiple access (RIS-TW-NOMA) networks, where a pair of users exchange their information through a RIS. The influence of imperfect successive interference cancellation on RIS-TW-NOMA is taken into account. To evaluate the potential performance of RIS-TW-NOMA, we derive the exact and asymptotic expressions of outage probability and ergodic rate for a pair of users. Based on the analytical results, the diversity orders and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) slopes are obtained in the high SNR regime, which are closely related to the number of RIS elements. Additionally, we analyze the system throughput and energy efficiency of RIS-TW-NOMA networks in both delay-limited and delay-tolerant transmission modes. Numerical results indicate that: 1) The outage behaviors and ergodic rate of RIS-TW-NOMA are superior to that of RIS-TW-OMA and two-way relay OMA (TWR-OMA);2) As the number of RIS elements increases, the RIS-TW-NOMA networks are capable of achieving the enhanced outage performance;and 3) By comparing with RIS-TW-OMA and TWR-OMA networks, the energy efficiency and system throughput of RIS-TW-NOMA has obvious advantages. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

Heptagonal core anti-resonant hollow-core fiber for laser beam mode shapers

We report a novel anti-resonant hollow-core fiber（ARF） with a heptagonal core surrounded by connected cladding tubes,which is employed as a laser beam mode shaper. Cladding nodes are formed between each pair of adjacent cladding tubes,which efficiently enhances the mode coupling, thus significantly suppressing higher-order modes（HOMs） within a short fiber length. Numerical investigation and simulation for variations in the curvature of each node are conducted, through which an optimized structure of cladding nodes is obtained. Experimental results demonstrate that for a 1-m-long ARFbased mode shaper, the output beam quality M2is enabled, and the near-diffraction-limit beam quality is 1.03. The ARF presents a maximum average transmission power of 600 mW, achieving a total coupling efficiency of approximately85%. Moreover, it is maintained for one hour without inducing any damage while maintaining beam quality. These results highlight the great potential of the mode shaper in applications such as laser surgery, precision welding, and laser writing.

The queuing performance of the cross-layer system with Space-time block code (STBC) over Multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) channel is analyzed. The Adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) in physical layer and finite length of buffer in data-link layer are combined with this model. A simple cross-layer design and the queue state process are proposed based on finite state Markov channel model, which is to solve the service process. The proposed cross-layer design is also incorporated with STBC to further improve the system performance. Simulation results illustrate the dependence of system performance on various parameters, and quantify the performance gain due to cross-layer optimization. The adjustment of target packet loss rate of adaptive modulation coding in physical layer can maximize average throughput of the system, meanwhile a significant improvement of the system performance is brought.

An ultra-sensitive temperature sensor was proposed and demonstrated by inserting polarization maintaing fibers (PMFs) into cascading Sagnac fiber loops. Effect of the length of PMFs in an individual Sagnac loop on the temperature sensitivity of the sensor was firstly studied. As the PMF length reduces, the sensitivity increases. In the PMFs cascade Sagnac loops, the closer the lengths of the two sections of PMFs embedded in the Sagnac loops, the wider the free spectral range, resulting stronger Vernier effect and thus higher sensitivity. The temperature sensitivity of the cascade Sagnac loops is ~-44.28 nm/°C, a 27-fold increase than that of an individual Sagnac loop (~-1.64 nm/°C). This newly developed temperature sensor has the merits of simple structure, high sensitivity and easy operation, and good competitiveness in the sensing field. © 2024, The Authors. Analysis and Prediction of Fuel Cell Performance Indexes in Real Traffic Environment

A fuel cell’s lifetime is closely related to the performance of fuel cell vehicles, and fuel cell health management is performed based on the accurate prediction and control of fuel cells. Here, we investigate and predict the performance indexes of fuel cells based on data from a fuel cell bus operated under real traffic conditions in Chengdu, China. First, three correlative analyses are used to identify the correlation between the fuel-cell output voltage and other performance indexes during start-stop operation. Then, four gray prediction models are optimized based on a backpropagation (BP) neural network (NN). Finally, an organic gray BP NN model is established to predict the fuel-cell output voltage during start-stop operation and analyze its accuracy. Results indicate that the output voltage of the fuel cell sharply changes during startup and stop. This output voltage is closely connected with the current, hydrogen gas tank pressure, and fuel-cell electrical stack temperature. Besides, compared with the four gray prediction models, this organic gray model, based on BP NN optimization, has a higher predict precision providing a basis for the control of fuel cell hybrid system. © 2022, The Authors. Unmanned aerial vehicle assisted (UAV-assisted) wireless communication network is a promising paradigm of wireless communication network. In this paper, we apply the evolutionary game to the UAV selection process of ground user equipment (UE). Specifically, we first establish a UAV-assisted uplink wireless communication model, and then we use replicator dynamics to describe the process of evolution game. Finally, we propose a dynamic UAV selection algorithm based on evolutionary game with low computation complexity. The numerical results prove the effectiveness of our developed algorithm in UAV-assisted wireless communication network.

In this article, a $2 \times 1$ UWB-MIMO flower bouquet has been discussed using a low-cost FR-4-epoxy material for wireless communication systems. This antenna provides a wider bandwidth impedance of $[3.42-14.64] \mathrm{GHz}$. The reflection coefficient of the proposed work achieves $\mathbf{- 3 5 . 0 4} \mathrm{dB}$. For the aims of reducing mutual coupling, a CSRR was etched on the top and the bottom of the radiation element and the isolation achieves 44.58 dB at 11.63 GHz. Furthermore, theECC parameter is less than 0.002 and the diversity gain is close to 10 dB. Moreover, the TARC parameter is low of $\mathbf{- 1 0} \mathbf{d B}$ throughout the operating bandwidth. Therefore, the proposed design is a good choice for wireless communication systems.

Objective In a fiber-based terahertz-time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) System, the femtosecond pulse emitted by the femtosecond laser as the pump source has a wide spectrum and high peak power. When transmitted through the fiber, dispersion and nonlinear effects occur, which results in the broadening of the Output optical pulse and distortion of the waveform. However, due to the low peak power required by the transmitter and receiver (usually less than 10 mW), the nonlinear effects are weakly influential. Therefore, when building the System, the primary consideration is the dispersion compensation of the femtosecond laser in the optical path to ensure the optimal Performance of the THz-TDS System. In the 1560 nm wavelength band, both positive and negative values of dispersion can be controlled by designing the waveguide dispersion of the fiber. Additionally, the coupling efficiency of the fiber connection is higher than that of the spatial dispersion compensation module. To further improve the stability and compactness of the System, dispersion compensating fiber (DCF) is usually used to compensate for the dispersion in the antenna tail fiber. However, there are two issues when using DCF for dispersion compensation in THz-TDS Systems. On the one hand, DCF cannot compensate for dispersion in real time. In the fiber-optic terahertz time-domainspectroscopy System, all components, except for the photoconductive antenna, are usually packaged as a whole. In practical engineering applications, the length of the tail fiber after the photoconductive antenna is changed accordmg to different usage requirements. However, DCF can only accurately compensate for fibers of a specific length. When the fiber length changes, it is necessary to redesign and replace the DCF with one of the corresponding length. This replacement process is complex and time-consuming. On the other hand, due to the high nonlinear coefficient of DCF, it can also lead to distortion of the femtosecond laser
