Cement has long been used as the main cementing material of the artesian paste filling material in the goaf of a mine, giving a generally high strength. However, the cement 'two grinding and one burning' process consumes a lot of energy, which aggravates the greenhouse effect. Therefore, a new type of cementitious material with lower energy consumption and lower emissions is needed. Solid wastes are useless by-products after mining and beneficiation, which are often dry piled in the open air, wasting land resources and polluting the environment. This project studied an alkali-activated mineral powder cementitious material, delineated its internal structure and morphology, and tested its mechanical properties. In a gelling system with 70% mineral powder, 30% Portland cement, 1% sodium silicate and a water-cement ratio of 0.4, the hydration reaction commenced the earliest and the early strength of the test block was the highest. In addition, further increasement in proportion of mineral powder or sodium silicate could not have a positive effect on the early strength of the system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper proposes a non-iterative LMI-based design strategy for guaranteed cost static output feedback controllers for linear systems. The proposed design approach is based on the well-known necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of the static output feedback stabilizing control for linear systems. In this paper, for linear systems we show the non-iterative LMI-based design procedure for static output feedback controllers which minimize the upper bound of a given quadratic cost function, and the effectiveness of the proposed static output feedback controller with guaranteed cost is presented through a simple numerical example.

This paper focuses on the sliding mode fault-tolerant control (SMFTC) problem for a class of delayed nonlinear systems in presence of actuator fault and nonlinear input. Firstly, the augmented strategy involving system state, actuator fault and external disturbance is constructed, and then the fault-tolerant observer is designed accordingly. An SMFTC law ensuring the asymptotical stability of the reduce-order estimation error is provided subsequently. To further illustrate the system performance, a new sliding function with respect to decomposed signal is constructed and the asymptotically stability of sliding motion is analyzed. Moreover, a novel adaptive-based sliding mode controller is presented to steer the system state onto the sliding manifold. Finally, a verification example is considered to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed SMFTC approach.

Text-based image captioning is an important but under-explored task, aiming to generate descriptions containing visual objects and scene text. Recent studies have made encouraging progress, but they are still suffering from a lack of overall understanding of scenes and generating inaccurate captions. One possible reason is that current studies mainly focus on constructing the plane-level geometric relationship of scene text without depth information. This leads to insufficient scene text relational reasoning so that models may describe scene text inaccurately. The other possible reason is that existing methods fail to generate fine-grained descriptions of some visual objects. In addition, they may ignore essential visual objects, leading to the scene text belonging to these ignored objects not being utilized. To address the above issues, we propose a DEpth and VIsual ConcEpts Aware Transformer (DEVICE) for TextCaps. Concretely, to construct three-dimensional geometric relations, we introduce depth information and propose a depth-enhanced feature updating module to ameliorate OCR token features. To generate more precise and comprehensive captions, we introduce semantic features of detected visual concepts as auxiliary information, and propose a semantic-guided alignment module to improve the model’s ability to utilize visual concepts. Our DEVICE is capable of generalizing scenes more comprehensively and boosting the accuracy of described visual entities. Sufficient experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed DEVICE, which outperforms state-of-the-art models on the TextCaps test set. Our code will be publicly available. As a kind of interconnection device widely used in automobile, the quality and reliability of automobile connector directly affect the overall safety of automobile. As a key parameter of connectors, pin spacing has important effects on electrical characteristics and durability of connectors. Therefore, a method for measuring pin spacing of automotive connectors based on binocular stereo vision is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a visual measurement system is designed in this paper, which provides hardware support for pin detection and pin spacing measurement of the connectors. After that, this paper uses the image processing method to detect the pin of the car connector, mainly carries out the pre-processing of the car connector image and edge feature extraction, and on the basis of the edge feature extraction, the corner feature detection is carried out, and finally the pin detection of the car connector is completed. Finally, according to the detection results of the car connector pins, the paper adopts binocular stereo vision method to measure the pin spacing of the connector pins, and the final measurement accuracy reaches millimeter level.

As a vital part of the automotive electrical system, the connector pins support the transmission of electrical signals, data and power to ensure the correct connection and collaboration between the various components of the vehicle, and their quality and reliability are crucial to the performance, safety and reliability of the vehicle. Therefore, it is of great significance to study an automatic detection method for the connection pins of automobile connectors. The traditional connector needle detection mainly relies on manual method, due to the relatively dense distribution of the connector needle and the human eye is easy to fatigue and other factors. This method has the problems of high detection error rate, low accuracy and low efficiency. Therefore, this paper proposes an automatic detection method for connecting pins of automotive connector based on improved Yolov7 target detection. This method adds attention mechanism on the basis of Yolov7 target detection, which can be more suitable for small target detection. Finally, after the improvement, the results of the YOLOV7 target detection model training, mAP@0.5, reached 94.87%, and map@0.5:0.95, reached 75.28%. compared with the results before the improvement, mAP@0.5, 69.7%, map@0.5:0.95, 51.2%. Increases of 25.17% and 24.08%, respectively. It is proved that the improved model is more suitable for the detection of the connection pin of the auto-mobile connector. The detection rate of the final car connector pin is as follows: After the car connector pin is detected, the pin spacing is measured by the method of image processing in this paper, and the measurement accuracy meets the practical requirements. At the same time, the research content of this paper has laid the groundwork for other electrical and signal tests of automobile connector in the future.

Butterfly hysteresis effects are complicated nonlinear behaviors. In comparison with single-loop hysteresis behaviors, butterfly hysteresis loops are composed of two single hysteresis loops and the directions of the butterfly hysteresis loop include both clockwise and counter-clockwise. Therefore, it brings a great challenge to build a proper model to describe the butterfly hysteresis behaviors, since most available hysteresis models are applied to describe the single-loop hysteresis. To solve this problem, a modified Bouc-Wen model with an absolute excitation function and modified elastic polynomials is developed in this paper. Experimental results are carried out via a dielectric elastomer actuator (DEA) to validate the effectiveness of the proposed model. © 2021 IEEE.

A Multi-population Integrated Approach for Capacitated Location Routing

The capacitated location-routing problem involves determining the depots from a set of candidate capacitated depot locations and finding the required routes from the selected depots to serve a set of customers whereas minimizing a cost function that includes the cost of opening the chosen depots, the fixed utilization cost per vehicle used, and the total cost (distance) of the routes. This paper presents a multi-population integrated framework in which a multi-depot edge assembly crossover generates promising offspring solutions from the perspective of both depot location and route edge assembly. The method includes an effective neighborhood-based local search, a feasibility-restoring procedure and a diversification-oriented mutation. Of particular interest is the multi-population scheme which organizes the population into multiple subpopulations based on depot configurations. Extensive experiments on 281 benchmark instances from the literature show that the algorithm performs remarkably well, by improving 101 best-known results (new upper bounds) and matching 84 best-known results. Additional experiments are presented to gain insight into the role of the key elements of the algorithm. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

An automatic vision-based sewer inspection plays a key role of sewage system in a modern city. Recent advances focus on utilizing deep learning model to realize the sewer inspection system, benefiting from the capability of data-driven feature representation. However, the inherent uncertainty of sewer defects is ignored, resulting in the missed detection of serious unknown sewer defect categories. In this paper, we propose a trustworthy multi-label sewer defect classification (TMSDC) method, which can quantify the uncertainty of sewer defect prediction via evidential deep learning. Meanwhile, a novel expert base rate assignment (EBRA) is proposed to introduce the expert knowledge for describing reliable evidences in practical situations. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of TMSDC and the superior capability of uncertainty estimation is achieved on the latest public benchmark. Copyright © 2022, The Authors.
