With the development of modern vehicle functions and technologies, surface geometry defects such as dents and cracks generated during the assembly and service of a vehicle not only endanger flight safety and reduce load capacity but also limit its functional characteristics. Accurate detection of surface geometry defects is critical, and these defects must be controlled within a small margin of error. However, conventional methods have difficulty meeting practical requirements in terms of detection accuracy and measurement size. In this paper, based on the analysis of the structural characteristics of the aircraft surface, an aircraft skin defect detection and characterization method is proposed, which processes the defect point cloud data, combines the segmentation algorithm of area growth to detect defects, and analyzes the geometric analysis and characterization through the depth of defects to achieve the accurate measurement of defects, and the experimental results show that the measurement of round holes with different depths of standard parts, the measurement results and the true value of The error are less than 0.05mm;the measurement of the outer surface of the aircraft engine compartment can detect different types of defects such as scratches or dents, and the method in this paper can be extended to the defect detection field of other large industrial equipment. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper combines the L-shaped array and two parallel linear arrays to propose an N-shape array configuration. For the N-shape array, the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm is utilized for DOA estimation under far-field conditions. When the signal source is in the far-field region, the signal arriving at the array elements can typically be represented as a plane wave. By utilizing the array manifold matrices of the L-shaped array and two parallel linear arrays, the array manifold matrix for the N-shape array is derived, which is then used for DOA estimation via the MUSIC algorithm. Simulation results indicate that the N-shape array can effectively achieve DOA estimation of signals in far-field conditions using the MUSIC algorithm. © 2025 SPIE.

The advent of powerful object detectors has led to the widespread adoption of the 'tracking-by-detection' paradigm in multi-object tracking (MOT). However, challenges such as association errors during occlusions continue to hinder tracking performance. To address this issue, we propose three key improvements. First, we leverage the confidence scores generated by a detector with decoupled heads to weight the cost matrix. Second, we introduce a height-constrained intersection-over-union (IoU) distance metric. Finally, we classify the appearance features of objects in the current frame into two levels - high and low - based on their respective confidence scores. These features are then matched and updated against stored appearance embeddings from previous frames. Extensive comparative and ablation experiments conducted on the MOT17 dataset demonstrate that the proposed method significantly improves tracking performance in multi-object tracking scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

With the continuous development of marine science and technology, propeller shapes are developing in a more complex direction. Among them, the toroidal propeller represents the latest research progress in propeller technology. This design features a ring-shaped geometry for the blades, which are similar to the catenary curve of a hanging chain. This propeller offers the advantages of higher efficiency and lower noise. In this paper, starting from the geometric shape analysis study of toroidal propeller, we introduce the geometric parameters such as wheelbase, outboard angle, lateral inclination angle among others, derive the mathematical formula of the coordinates of toroidal propeller in detail, simulate the modulation waveform and spectrogram of the toroidal propeller, and compare with those of the ordinary propeller, and according to the experimental data, the geometric shape of toroidal propeller can be recognized by using the proposed method. This lays a firm foundation for further research on the physical properties and scientific problems of toroidal propellers. © 2025 SPIE.

With the wide application of Quadrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (QUAV) in military and civilian fields, its flight reliability problem has become a hot research topic. The propellers, which are the important components relating to the performance of QUAV, play a central role in safe flight. Traditional data-driven fault diagnosis methods of QUAV are based on Euclidean distance, which cannot effectively capture the interrelationship of multiple variables. In this paper, we treat the fault diagnosis of QUAV propeller as a node classification problem in non-Euclidean infinite dimensional space by introducing the method of Local-Global Attention-based Graph Neural Network (LGA-GNN). First, the graph topology is constructed using the KNN method based on the real flight log of the QUAV. Then, the local and global attention strategies are integrated to form a graph-based collaborative feature extraction model. Finally, a unified end-to-end fault diagnosis framework tailored for QUAV is proposed. In the experiment section, real flight data of QUAV with different propeller fault conditions are collected, and the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method are verified by comparing with other methods based on real data. © 2024 IEEE.

To solve the problems of poor accuracy, poor anti-interference ability and unclear distribution of leakage electric field response characteristics of the traditional ground DC method for leakage detection of underground diaphragm walls in foundation pits, this paper proposes a deep foundation pit leakage detection technology based on the electric field. Secondly, it constructed the multi-field coupling equations and boundary conditions of the leakage electric field coupled with the leakage flow field and ion diffusion field, and then realized the three-dimensional forward evolution of the leakage electric field of the pit using the nonstructural mesh dissection method and the finite-element-infinite-element discretization method. Finally, physical model experiments and numerical simulations are used to confirm the reliability and accuracy of the foundation pit leakage detection technology and system. The results shows that monitoring the continuous change of the electric field for a period of time, the electric field detection technology for foundation pit leakage can effectively identify the location of hidden leakage and overcome the site's strong industrial interference, resulting in a new technical solution for foundation pit leakage detection. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper proposes a novel network architecture to integrate features in the shallow and the deep layers. The architecture is composed of three components, including the shortcut connection, global representation operator, and regularizer. The shortcut connection alleviates the vanishing gradient problem by feeding features from the hidden layer to the classifier in the last layer. The global representation operator aims to reduce the features' dimension to mitigate the over-fitting problem. The regularizer is designed to relieve the degradation of network depth which might be caused by the shortcut connection. The results on Optical Coherence tomography (OCT) show that the proposed architecture is an effective regularization method that can mitigate the over-fitting problem. © 2022 SPIE.

Accurate prediction of the state of charge (SOC) is crucial for extending the lifespan of batteries. While traditional ampere-hour integration methods are simple and practical, they suffer from large cumulative errors and are not well-suited for complex application scenarios. This paper presents a smart battery management system based on the STM32F407VET6 microcontroller, which incorporates a deep neural network (DNN) to effectively model the nonlinear relationship between key parameters such as current, voltage, and SOC. The system features autonomous operation without requiring a host computer, enabling precise measurement of remaining battery capacity and real-time data display on an OLED screen. Furthermore, it supports data transmission in industrial environments via an RS485 module using the Modbus RTU protocol, as well as communication through CAN bus and ESP8266-MQTT for IoT applications. Experimental results demonstrate that this system can accurately predict battery SOC while facilitating multiplatform data communication. © 2024 IEEE.

Background: After a smooth development of life expectancy per capita and fertility in the nineteenth century, the global population increased in size. Along with the demographic shift in the late nineteenth century, the phenomenon of population aging began to appear in developed countries. A survey from UN reports that by 2050, one in six people worldwide will be over 65 years old (16%), compared to 11 (9%) in 2019. According to another survey, 55% of people over the age of 60 suffer from joint diseases, and the number of people suffering from stroke, arthritis and other knee diseases will also increase accordingly. Objective: An overview of the classification and characteristics of today's knee rehabilitation devices and future developments. Methods: This review discusses the existing knee rehabilitation devices, including various prod-ucts on the market, patents and some conceptual devices, in the context of the structural characteristics of the knee joint and the rehabilitation requirements of different knee conditions or after knee arthroplasty, and systematically introduces their structural features, differences and the rehabilitation effects achieved. Results: A comparative analysis of three types of passive knee rehabilitation devices according to their use was conducted to summarize the typical characteristics. The problems that exist in today's rehabilitation devices are also analyzed, and their development trends are looked forward to. Conclusion: Knee rehabilitation equipment has a high degree of structural richness, but it does not achieve a good balance of convenience, comfort and functionality, and there should be some room for improvement in the materials, volume of the power source and transmission form of the power system. There will be a good development in the future of knee joint recovery. © 2022 Bentham Science Publishers.
