Optical attenuation coefficient based optical coherence tomography angiography

In this study, we reported an optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) method based on optical attenuation coefficients (OAC), called OAC-based decorrelation (OACD), for mapping high-quality microvascular images. OACD utilizes the OAC instead of amplitude or phase to calculate flow signals, so OACD can intrinsically suppress noise arising from phase errors and intensity variations in OCT signals caused by the blood flow in superficial vasculature. The performance of the newly proposed algorithm is tested against previously reported OCTA algorithms (i.e., split-spectrum amplitude and phase-gradient angiography (SSAPGA) and principal component analysis (PCA)). Compared to SSAGPA and PCA, OACD can provide enhanced motion contrast in phantoms and in vivo experiments, facilitating better differentiation between vessels and static tissue. Benefiting from these advantages, the vascular images processed by the OACD method exhibit increased vascular visibility and connectivity, enhancing overall image quality. Our method holds promise for disease diagnosis and monitoring. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Load Balancing Routing Algorithm for LEO Satellite Networks Based on Ant Colony Optimization

To address the problem of the unbalanced load and optimize the traffic distribution of large-scale low earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks, this paper proposes a load-balancing routing algorithm for LEO satellite networks based on ant colony optimization. The algorithm establishes the global optimal initial path through the improved ant colony algorithm to bypass the network bottleneck, makes local adjustments to cope with burst traffic changes to avoid congestion, and optimizes the "inferior" paths through regular rerouting to improve the overall network performance. The results show that the algorithm performs well in terms of packet loss rate, throughput, and load balancing, which can effectively alleviate the link utilization imbalance problem and provide a more stable and efficient service for the satellite network. Among them, the packet loss rate is reduced by 7.8%, and the load distribution index is improved by 30%. © 2025 The Author(s). Internet Technology Letters published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

communication-centric Integrated Sensing and communication (ISAC) has been recognized as a promising methodology to implement wireless sensing functionality over existing network architectures, due to its cost-effectiveness and backward compatibility to legacy cellular systems. However, the inherent randomness of the communication signal may incur huge fluctuations in sensing capabilities, leading to unfavorable detection and estimation performance. To address this issue, we elaborate on random ISAC signal processing methods in this article, aiming at improving the sensing performance without unduly deteriorating the communication functionality. Specifically, we commence by discussing the fundamentals of sensing with random communication signals, including the performance metrics and optimal ranging waveforms. Building on these concepts, we then present a general framework for random ISAC signal transmission, followed by an in-depth exploration of time-domain pulse shaping, frequency-domain constellation shaping, and spatial-domain precoding methods. We provide a comprehensive overview of each of these topics, including models, results, and design guidelines. Finally, we conclude this article by identifying several promising research directions for random ISAC signal transmission. © 2025 IEEE.

The active simultaneously transmitting and reflecting surface (STARS) has been proposed as a complement of passive STARS (PSTARS) to inhibit the double path-loss. This paper applies the active STARS (ASTARS) to aid in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) covert communications over cascaded rice fading channels, where two wardens are located on the opposite sides of ASTARS to monitor the transmission information. More specifically, we derive approximate expressions for detection error probability of two wardens. The optimal detection threshold and minimum detection error probability are presented in the worst covert scenarios. The covert transmission rate expressions for a coupe of covert users are further deduced by taking into account imperfect/perfect successive interference cancellation. The experimental simulation results are presented to confirm that: 1) The detection error probability of ASTARS-NOMA networks is superior to that of ASTARS assisted-orthogonal multiple access (ASTARS-OMA) and PSTARS aided NOMA networks;2) As the number of active elements increases, the covert transmission rates of ASTARS-NOMA networks become larger relative to ASTARS-OMA;and 3) ASTARS-NOMA has ability to provide the enhanced system throughput in delay-tolerant transmission mode. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper investigates the performance of simultaneously transmitting and reflecting surface (STARS) assisted semi-grant-free non-orthogonal multiple access network with randomly distributed users. By deploying STARS, the transmit signals of grant-based user (GBU) and grant-free users (GFUs) can be exquisitely adjusted to reduce interference. We propose a maximum channel scheduling (MCS) protocol that allows a GFU to access GBU’s channel with the assistance of STARS. In particular, the impacts of perfect/imperfect successive interference cancellation (pSIC/ipSIC) on MCS protocol are taken into account. To characterize the performance of STARS aided MCS (STARS-MCS) network, we derive the expressions of outage probability for GBU and GFU with pSIC/ipSIC. By applying convolution theorem and Laplace transform, the asymptotic expressions of outage probability and diversity orders for GBU and GFU are attained. We further design a STARS-based power control (SPC) strategy to eliminate the outage probability error floor and improve the outage performance. Numerical results show that: 1) The performance of STARS-MCS outperforms the existing benchmarks in terms of outage probability and system throughput;2) The SPC strategy can effectively improve the performance of the STARS-MCS network and eliminate the outage probability error floor at high signal-to-noise ratios;and 3) By adjusting reflection and transmission coefficients of STARS, the outage performance of GBU and GFU can be greatly enhanced. © 2025 IEEE. A multi-agent deep distribution approximation strategy optimization algorithm with multi-threaded parallel computing mechanism suitable for large-scale and complex urban road networks

In order to alleviate the traffic congestion of urban road networks, a multi-agent hierarchical heterogeneous control framework with cooperation mechanism is proposed in this paper. Secondly, the maximum vehicle delay is introduced as the road congestion level judgment standard, and the road congestion level is discretely divided. Thirdly, a multi-agent joint reward mechanism is designed to enhance the multi-agent collaboration ability and improve the cumulative income of the system. Finally, a multi-agent deep distribution approximation strategy optimization algorithm based on the regional adaptive green wave control mechanism (RAG-MADPPO) is proposed to solve the problems of the long vehicle waiting time in the process of large-scale traffic signal control. Moreover, the multi-threaded parallel computing strategy is proposed to improve the training efficiency of the RAG-MADPPO algorithm. In addition to testing the different strategies on the Manhattan road network scenario, the RAG-MADPPO algorithm is applied to the Oakland road network to verify its effectiveness further. The results show that the proposed RAG-MADPPO algorithm has significant advantages in evaluation indicators and model performance. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

In this paper, the fault analysis of crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules is studied. The Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) methods are used to analyze the failure mode and its causes. Based on the results of fault analysis, the infrared image analysis and recognition methods are studied for the two fault modes of infrared hot spot and component shedding of Photovoltaic(PV) modules. The YOLOv5s image recognition method based on clustering improvement and feature enhancement is discussed. The experimental results show that the YOLOv5s image recognition algorithm with clustering improvement and feature enhancement improves the training effect of the model by using the EIOU loss function to adaptively adjust the confidence loss balance coefficient, and the detection speed (Frame Per Second, FPS) can reach 42.37 FPS;by adding InRe feature enhancement modules before each detection layer, the extraction ability of target features is improved. The mean Average Precision (mAP) of hot spot and component shedding are 94.85 % and 90.67 %, respectively, which can fully meet the needs of UAV automatic inspection. © 2023 ACM.

Target detection is widely applied in fields such as face recognition, autonomous driving, and industrial automation. However, when deploying target detection models based on convolutional neural networks on resource-constrained embedded platforms, issues like high computational complexity, long execution times, and significant on-chip memory usage arise. To address these challenges, this paper presents a target detection accelerator design based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). Firstly, the computational workload of convolutional neural networks is reduced by merging convolutional layers with batch normalization layers. Secondly, to mitigate on-chip storage space concerns, on-chip data fixed-point quantization is employed to decrease on-chip memory consumption. Subsequently, to tackle the issue of long execution times, a convolution calculation module based on the Winograd algorithm is designed, which reduces computation latency. Finally, a dual-buffer pipeline architecture is devised to optimize memory bandwidth. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed solution accelerates YOLOv4-tiny on the ZYNQ-7020, achieving a performance of 21.35 GOP/s. The energy efficiency is 32.56 times higher than CPU and 9.76 times higher than GPU. Additionally, the convolution calculation module in this paper reduces inference time by 15% compared to the sliding window convolution calculation method. © 2023 IEEE.

Single loop regulator is a process control level instrument in single loop distributed control system. The traditional single loop regulators based on the data bus and wire network exist limitations such as wiring and environment and so on. Aiming at these problems, this paper improved the traditional single loop regulator by combining wireless communication technology with information processing technology, and then designed a single loop regulator system based on wireless network. The system adopted PID adjustment. Practical tests proved that the regulator system could be used in practical applications. © 2013 IEEE.
