This paper proposes a method of generating images of transparent objects using pix2pix, which is a GAN-based image generation network, in order to shorten the rendering time of transparent objects in AR. We found that an image of a transparent object can be generated rapidly from a metallic object whose brightness varies greatly depending on the normal direction of the object. © 2022 IEEE.

Four-Dimensional Cone Beam Computed Tomography (4D-CBCT) imaging technology offers enhanced image quality and spatial resolution for intraoperative guidance, facilitating real-time tracking of tumor position changes during radiotherapy. However, this is still a task of great challenges due to insufficient projections at each respiratory phase after phase-sorting, and the image phases reconstructed directly from phase-sorted data are discrete and discontinuous. To generate high-quality 4D-CBCT deformation vector fields (DVFs), this paper leverages the preoperative static prior image to guide intraoperative dynamic sparse-view reconstruction images for reducing anatomical structure differences, ultimately achieving continuous and dynamic 4D-CBCT imaging. In this paper, we propose a Multi-scale Cascaded residual deformable vector field estimation framework based on Cross-attention in Motioncompensated 4D-CBCT reconstruction (MCCM), which combines Multi-Scale Cascaded residual registration network (MSCNet), Cross-Attention Enhanced feature Fusion (CAEF) module and Structure-Enhanced Motion-Compensated (SEMC) module: 1) the MCCM employs a multi-scale cascaded residual network strategy, merging multi-receptive fields and multi-resolution feature maps for large-scale internal changes. 2) the CAEF is embedded into MSC-Net to facilitate effective communication and learning between features and promote the flow of information. 3) the SEMC is developed to reduce artifacts after intraoperative CBCT sparse-view reconstruction, restore global lung motion changes and local details, and enhance structural information through image fusion. The proposed method has been evaluated using simulated and clinical datasets and has shown promising results by comparative experiment. Our approach exhibits significant improvements across various evaluation metrics. © 2024 IEEE.

In this study, a Smart (Light Dependent Resistor, LDR) Automatic Solar Tracker is intended and successfully developed. It was developed with unique design criteria such that it instantly aligns the solar panels position perpendicular the position of the sun, resulting in a 42% increase in efficiency of the generated energy when compared to a fixed axis solar panel. A low-cost solar tracker set-up is uniquely set up to act as the solar radiation sensor/detector which is used to rotate the solar panels via the electric motors to position the panels at a specific angle determined by the light dependent resistor of the tracker system. A microcontroller Arduino Uno is used as the microcontroller unit, and the Analogue Digital Converter ports are used to interconnect the sensor units. To connect the solar arrays, the Direct Current motor driver ULN 293D is used to rotate the solar panel at the highest solar power angle. The digital model was conceptualized on Autodesk® Fusion™ 360, using four Light Dependent Resistors. The performance analysis for the simulated model and developed system shows that the maximum current drawn by the solar tracking sensor is less than 0.72 mA. 'Arduino UNO', Proteus 7.6 ISIS' and 'Code Vision AVR' are used to write the program code and to transmit it to the Arduino Uno microcontroller for parameter estimation. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper investigates the recent advances in Digital Twin technologies. The aim is to compare the approaches, available open source and proprietary technologies and methods, their features, and their integration capabilities. The motivation is to enable better design decisions based on the available literature and case studies. Various tools for 3D reconstruction and visualisation, IoT and sensor integration, Physical simulations and other complete platforms provide complete solutions. A conclusion of current challenges and future work identified that the lack of standardisation and interoperability makes the life-time of a digital twin short, with a high cost and time to build and rebuild if required. © 2023 IEEE.

Induction motors are considered as the power-houses of the industry. These motors amount to approximately $60-70 \%$ of global industrial energy consumption which drives multiple fields such as medical, oil and gas, marine, and transportation. Extensive research has been conducted to enhance the reliability of induction machines by implementing fault diagnosis techniques at early fault inception stages. The reason for its challenge is due to the incipient nature of the fault, which may degrade over time unnoticed due to its minimal effect. Machine learning has improved drastically in the past few years and is known for its large community and easy accessibility. This paper aims to apply an unsupervised machine learning algorithm to detect the severity level of stator winding faults that occur in the induction motor, which allows for predictive maintenance, enhancing the lifetime of the motor. The K-means, Gaussian mixture model and hierarchical clustering, all of which use the concept of clustering, referring to the grouping of similar data that have likable characteristics, are used in this paper. The metrics used to evaluate the aforementioned models show that the clusters are well-separated and distinct from each other but do not correlate well with ground truth. K-means achieved a score of 0.85 for Davis Bouldin, 499908.73 for Calinski Harabasz while the adjusted rand index was 0.00014 and normalized mutual information score was 0.0002. Similarly, GMM achieved $1.63,342100.39,0.005$ and 0.006 for Davis Bouldin, Calinski Harabasz, adjusted rand index, and normalized mutual information respectively. The hierarchal clustering was able to classify six classes at a threshold distance betweem 1600-2000.

This paper conducts an in-depth analysis of the impact of various factors on outcomes using time series data, focusing on trend shifts in event sequences. First, the data are preprocessed, and an index system is constructed. After incorporating the momentum difference as a key feature, the paper introduces a trend shift model based on 0-1 logistic regression. The model is trained using data from 31 pairs of events, achieving a high accuracy rate of 93.5 %when comparing the predicted trend shift function values with actual results. Turning points in the process are identified using predefined thresholds. In one case study, the model successfully detects 11 upper-threshold and 10 lower-threshold turning points, corresponding closely to actual trends in the data. Finally, multivariate standardized regression is applied to assess the correlation between indicators within the trend shift model. The results reveal that three factors - the rate of service points lost, the rate of breakpoint attacks, and the momentum difference - are the most significant predictors in analyzing trend shifts. This comprehensive approach provides valuable insights into identifying and forecasting trend shifts in time series data. © 2024 IEEE.

Based on the group-delay matrix and its frequency derivatives, we study the statistics of modal dispersion (MD) up to 3rd order in randomly perturbed fibers. Particularly, we numerically simulate and analyze the statistical properties of quantities that characterize various aspects of the MD in a randomly perturbed six-mode fiber of sufficiently large length $L$ . The results show that, under proper normalization by the group-delay difference, the probability density functions (PDFs) of all 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-order MD are essentially independent of $L$ . Furthermore, we find that the 2nd-order and 3rd-order MD effects become significant at roughly the same signal spectral width, and the frequency variation of the principal modes dominates over that of the group delays in both the 2nd- and 3rd-order MD. The correlations among MD of different orders are also investigated by simulating the bivariate joint PDFs of relevant quantities.

Dense image matching plays a important role in stereo vision and remote sensing. Semi-global matching (SGM) is a widely used dense image matching framwork, which uses dynamic programming calculation strategy to optimize the global energy function. SGM has the problem of wrong disparity accumulation along the path. To solve the problem, this paper proposes a new dense image matching method based on feature matching and SGM. First, the feature matching is used to extract the reliable reference points. And then, reference points are used as additional constraints in matching cost aggregation to cut off the wrong disparity delivering along the path. In order to evaluate our method, qualitative and quantitative experiments are carried out on three stereo image pairs. The experimental results show that our method can achieve high matching accuracy by effectively reducing the error propagation. © 2023 IEEE.
