Ad hoc network is a type of network built for some specific objectives and not depending on infrastructure. Multicast is important applications for Ad hoc network. ODMRP is a multicast routing protocol for Ad hoc network. It is characterized by simplicity, mesh route, and dynamic topology. However, a detailed simulation study on ODMRP is still missing. Based on OPNET, this article built the model library for ODMRP, including network model, node model, and process model, etc. A group of numerical simulations are done based on these models. Simulation results verify the validity of these models and quantitatively show that the performance of ODMRP decrease with the increase of node movement speed and multicast group size. The model library built by this article can provide ready-to-use services for academic researchers and industrial personnel.

In this paper, a phase shifter for the base station antenna with low cost, ease of manufacturing and good performance on phase shift is presented. The phase shifter consists of a metal shell, a substrate, two dielectric plates, and two conductor lines. The phase shift is realized by moving the dielectric plates longitudinally, which cover the conductor lines. With the slots in dielectric materials, the slotted part of dielectric plates can function similarly to a quarter-wavelength impedance matching. Therefore, the function of this phase shifter is that the voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) and power distribution ratio can be guaranteed when the dielectric plate is moved. The phase shifter exhibits a bandwidth of 1.7-2.1 GHz and the corresponding phase shift is 86.88° when the dielectric plate moves by 90 mm. Moreover, its good physical features including light weight, low cost, and easy fabrication make it well suitable for base station antenna applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Weighted vertex cover(WVC)is one of the most important combinatorial optimization *** this paper,we provide a new game optimization to achieve efficiency and time of solutions for the WVC problem of weighted *** first model the WVC problem as a general game on weighted *** the framework of a game,we newly define several cover states to describe the WVC ***,we reveal the relationship among these cover states of the weighted network and the strict Nash equilibriums(SNEs)of the ***,we propose a game-based asynchronous algorithm(GAA),which can theoretically guarantee that all cover states of vertices converging in an SNE with polynomial ***,we improve the GAA by adding 2-hop and 3-hop adjustment mechanisms,termed the improved game-based asynchronous algorithm(IGAA),in which we prove that it can obtain a better solution to the WVC problem than using a the ***,numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed IGAA can obtain a better approximate solution in promising computation time compared with the existing representative algorithms.

Deploying new optimised routing policies on routers in the event of link failure is difficult due to the strong coupling between the data and control planes and the absence of topology information about the network. Because of the distributed architecture of traditional Internet protocol networks, policies and routing rules are spread in a decentralised way, resulting in looping and congestion problems. Software-defined networking (SDN) enables centralised network programmability. As a result, data plane devices just focus on packet forwarding, leaving the control plane's complexities to be managed by the controller. Thus, the controller centrally installs the policies and rules. Considering the controller's knowledge of the global network architecture, central control enhances the flexibility of link failure identification and restoration. Therefore, this paper uses SDN architecture to enhance network resilience against link failures by introducing the Hybrid Intelligent Fast Failure Recovery (HIFFR) framework, which aims to improve the speed and effectiveness of network failure recovery.

In this study, we explore advanced strategies for enhancing software quality by detecting and refactoring data clumps, special types of code smells. Our approach transcends the capabilities of integrated development environments, utilizing a novel method that separates the detection of data clumps from the source access. This method facilitates data clump processing. We introduce a command-line interface plugin to support this novel method of processing data clumps. This research highlights the efficacy of modularized algorithms and advocates their integration into continuous workflows, promising enhanced code quality and efficient project management across various programming and integrated development environments. © 2024, CC BY.

Numerous studies have suggested that the sensorimotor area may play a role in speech decoding due to its involvement in controlling the movement of vocal organs and its close link to speech. However, due to limitations in surface neural recording methods such as EEG and ECoG, it remains uncertain whether deep brain regions are capable of speech decoding. In this study, we utilized two sets of stereo electroencephalography (sEEG) data to investigate how speech is represented in both cortical and subcortical areas when people speak two different languages. The first sEEG dataset involved 10 subjects speaking Dutch, while the second dataset involved 5 subjects speaking Chinese. Consistent with previous studies, specific brain gyrus locations were closely linked to speech. We also discovered that high decoding performance could be achieved in many deep regions when subjects speak two languages. Furthermore, despite the two languages sharing similar articulation representation, they exhibited differences in neural representation, particularly in terms of high and low-frequency differences of audio. The differences of Chinese speakers were greater than those of Dutch speakers. We anticipate that future studies analyzing more data will uncover more precise articulatory representations of cortical and subcortical structures. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) family compounds are similar in structure but have different superconducting temperatures. It is well known that superconducting properties arise from the crystal lattice and electronic structure of compounds. This work reveals and discusses the electronic structures of YBCO family compounds (YBa2Cu3O6, YBa2Cu3O6.5, YBa2Cu3O7, and YBa2Cu4O8) based on density functional theory (DFT). The electronic structure results show that Cu-O chains are the trigger components for conduction, and only Cu-O chains and Cu-O2planes play important roles in electronic and superconducting properties. The results also reveal that additional hole doped will be non-trivially distributed between the Cu-O chains and the Cu-O2planes, and hence a more comprehensive method is required to calculate the hole concentration in the Cu-O2plane. This work also demonstrates the calculation of hole concentrations using DFT. By DFT calculation, the Y1236 has hole concentration of 0.5 and the hole doped of Y12365, Y1237 and Y124 are 0.09, 0.16 and 0.10, respectively. The results are consistent with the cuprate-superconductor phase diagram and the bond-valence sum (BVS) calculations. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Electrically manipulating magnetic moment by spin-orbit torque (SOT) has great potential applications in magnetic memories and logic devices. Although there have been rich SOT studies on magnetic heterostructures, low interfacial thermal stability and high switching current density still remain an issue. Here, highly textured, polycrystalline Heusler alloy MxPty\Ge (MPG) films with various thicknesses are directly deposited on thermally oxidized silicon wafers. The perpendicular magnetization of the MPG single layer can be reversibly switched by electrical current pulses with a magnitude as low as 4.1× 1010}Am-2, as evidenced by both the electrical transport and the magnetic optical measurements. The switching is shown to arise from inversion symmetry breaking due to the vertical composition gradient of the films after sample annealing. The SOT effective fields of the samples are analysed systematically. It is found that the SOT efficiency increases with the film thickness, suggesting a robust bulk-like behaviour in the single magnetic layer. Moreover, a memristive characteristic has been observed due to multi-domain switching property in the single layer MPG device. This work proves that the MPG is a good candidate to be utilized in high-density and efficient MRAM devices and other novel spintronics. © 2023 IEEE.
