Technical advancement in material production open new doors in developing reactive material (RM) compounds that combine structural strength with exothermal energetic characteristics. Utilized to exchange inert materials, such as warhead shells, RM enhance the lethal effects. The warhead is initiated, its RM shrapnel accelerated and impact the secondary targets. Upon impact, an impact induced energy release (IIER) occurs in form of exothermal chemical reaction of the RM on the target material. For a repeatable and comparable results, a dedicated experimental set-up has been developed where single cylindrical RM fragments of a diameter D=5 mm and the same length L (L/D=1) represent the shrapnel. They are ballistically driven at initial velocities vi=1500 m/s, using a 7.62 mm powder gun. The RM fragments consists of Ferrocerium, a pyrophoric commercial alloy. Although, Ferrocerium is not primarily a candidate to replace warhead shells, its IIER is academically very suitable for the development of experimental measurement techniques. In order to understand the chemical reaction and quantify the IIER, two parameters are measured, the light emission and the pressure. Time integrated and time-resolved emission spectra, obtained by a Czerny-Turner spectrograph are discussed in this paper. From the investigated wavelength of the oxidation of lanthanum, a predominant compound of the Ferrocerium RM, temperature can be derived between 2300° and 3000° C. In addition, the RM fragment is launched in a closed chamber with pressure sensors and a pressure measurement is taken simultaneously with the light emission. Kaon mixing beyond the standard model with physical masses

We present nonperturbative results for beyond the standard model kaon mixing matrix elements in the isospin symmetric limit (mu=md) of QCD, including a complete estimate of all dominant sources of systematic error. Our results are obtained from numerical simulations of lattice QCD with Nf=2+1 flavors of dynamical domain wall fermions. For the first time, these quantities are simulated directly at the physical pion mass mπ∼139 MeV for two different lattice spacings. We include data at three lattice spacings in the range a=0.11–0.07 fm and with pion masses ranging from the physical value up to 450 MeV. Compared to our earlier work, we have added both direct calculations at physical quark masses and a third lattice spacing making the removal of discretization effects significantly more precise and eliminating the need for any significant mass extrapolation beyond the range of simulated data. We renormalize the lattice operators nonperturbatively using RI-SMOM off-shell schemes. These schemes eliminate the need to model and subtract nonperturbative pion poles that arises in the RI-MOM scheme and, since the calculations are performed with domain wall fermions, the unphysical mixing between chirality sectors is suppressed. Our results for the bag parameters in the MS¯ scheme at 3 GeV are BK≡B1=0.5240(17)(54), B2=0.4794(25)(35), B3=0.746(13)(17), B4=0.897(02)(10) and B5=0.6882(78)(94), where the first error is from lattice uncertainties and the second is the uncertainty due to the perturbative matching to MS¯.

Subarray technique is an effective approach for reducing the cost of a phased array system. Although integrating multiple elements into a subarray can reduce the number of radio frequency (RF) chains and system complexity, how to avoid grating lobes when performing beam-scanning remains a challenging research topic. This paper evaluates the scanning performance of three different types of polyomino-shaped irregular subarray configurations: domino-shaped, skew-tetromino-shaped & L-tetromino-shaped, and L-octomino-shaped subarray configurations, on both 8 ×8 and 16 ×16 arrays. By combining the Algorithm X technique to precisely tile polyomino-shaped subarrays and the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to find the optimal configuration, we are able to evaluate the maximum sidelobe levels (SLLs) at different scanning angles from numerical simulations.

Many researchers have studied optimization methods for ridesharing. However, the individual interests of passengers and drivers are not considered enough. So we propose a two-sided stable matching method according to the actual preferences of passengers(requesters) and drivers(workers). We also design a pruning algorithm based on Euclidean distance to speed up the matching process. Experiments based on real data show that our method can perform well. © 2022 IEEE.

In this article,we study a 2D nonlinear time-fractional Rayleigh-Stokes problem,which has an anomalous subdiffusion term,on triangular meshes by quadratic finite volume element ***-fractional derivative,defined by Caputo fractional derivative,is discretized through L2−1σformula,and a two step scheme is used to approximate the time first-order derivative at time tn−α/2,where the nonlinear term is approximated by using a matching linearized difference scheme.A family of quadratic finite volume element schemes with two parameters are proposed for the spatial discretization,where the range of values for two parameters areβ1∈(0,1/2),β2∈(0,2/3).For testing the precision of numerical algorithms,we calculate some numerical examples which have known exact solution or unknown exact solution by several kinds of quadratic finite volume element schemes,and contrast with the results of an existing quadratic finite element scheme by drawing diversified comparison plots and showing the detailed data of L2 error results and convergence *** results indicate that,L2 error estimate of one scheme with parameters β_(1)=(3−√3)/6,β2=(6+√3−√21+6√3)/9 is O(h^(3)+△t^(2)),and L^(2) error estimates of other schemes are O(h^(2)+△t^(2)),where h and △t denote the spatial and temporal discretization parameters,respectively.

A methodology for the identification of non-small cell lung cancer from blood samples, combining feature selection methods followed by Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) with Genetic Algorithm (GA) optimization is presented. The methodology was tested on RNA-seq data from the GSE207586 dataset. The evaluation results showed that mixing the top 100 features from different feature selections and modeling with GCN offered the highest identification performance among all evaluated *** Relevance: Ability to diagnose and correctly classify lung cancer subtypes non-invasively have been elusive up until recently. However, current solutions often rely on combination of imaging (chest X-ray, low dose CT scan) with blood sample and clinical data. While this could push the boundary in the non-invasive screening, diagnosis, and classification of lung cancers, it would be challenging to deploy in the primary care or in remote secondary care settings. This current research has demonstrated the combination of gene feature selection techniques and graph convolution network approaches could lead to the detection and subclassification of lung cancers with a very high diagnostic accuracy just from a single blood draw.

Healthcare professionals are quite concerned with constantly monitoring their patients. An Internet of Things (IoT) based wireless health monitoring station can be a viable option to reduce human labor. The design study of a single-ended ring oscillator-based voltage-controlled oscillator (RO-VCO) optimized for implementation in an IoT-based wireless health monitoring system is presented in this paper. The schematic was created using a 50 nm CMOS process. By varying the control voltage from 0.9 V to 1.5 V the voltage-controlled oscillator can operate at 1.67 to 3.13 GHz. A supply voltage of 1 V was used to achieve the oscillation frequency of 2.4 GHz. Such a VCO will be an essential module for the proposed IoT-based patient monitoring station and other ISM band applications. © 2023 IEEE.
