Electrocatalytic Reduction of CO_(2)to CO with Almost 100%Faradaic Efficiency Using Oxygen-Vacancy Enriched Two-Dimensional MgO

The design and development of cheap,abundant,and efficient electrocatalysts for selective CO_(2)electroreduction is highly desirable yet remains an ongoing ***,we report on our discovery of the use of two-dimensional MgO rich in oxygen vacancies(VO)as an electrocatalyst for the efficient reduction of CO_(2)to yield CO in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate dissolved in *** faradaic efficiency toward CO reaches as high as 99.6±0.24%with a current density of up to 40.8 mA cm−*** functional theory calculations illustrate that the introduction of VO in MgO substantially lowers the reaction-free energy for the transformation of ^(*)COO^(−) to ^(*)COOH,the potential determining step,which greatly boosts CO_(2)conversion *** work opens the way to realizing economic and efficient CO_(2)electrolysis of group II metals.

We examined the transverse momentum(pT)spectra of various identified particles,encompassing both light-flavored and strange hadrons(π++π−,K++K−,p+p¯,ϕ,K0s,Λ+Λ¯,Ξ−+Ξ¯+,andΩ−+Ω¯+),across different multiplicity classes in proton-proton collisions(p-p)at a center-of-mass energy of s√=7 *** the Tsallis and Hagedorn models,parameters relevant to the bulk properties of nuclear matter were *** models exhibit good agreement with experimental *** our analyses,we observed a consistent decrease in the effective temperature(T)for the Tsallis model and the kinetic or thermal freeze-out temperature(T0)for the Hagedorn model,as we transitioned from higher multiplicity(class-I)to lower multiplicity(class-X).This trend is attributed to the diminished energy transfer in higher multiplicity ***,we observed that the transverse flow velocity(βT)experiences a decline from class-I to *** normalization constant,which represents the multiplicity of produced particles,was observed to decrease as we moved toward higher multiplicity *** the effective and kinetic freeze-out temperatures,as well as the transverse flow velocity,show a mild dependency on multiplicity for lighter particles,this dependency becomes more pronounced for heavier *** multiplicity parameter for heavier particles was observed to be smaller than that of lighter particles,indicating a greater abundance of lighter hadrons compared to heavier *** particle species were observed to undergo decoupling from the fireball at distinct temperatures:lighter particles exhibit lower temperatures,while heavier ones show higher temperatures,thereby supporting the concept of multiple freeze-out ***,we identified a positive correlation between the kinetic freeze-out temperature and transverse flow velocity,a scenario where particles experience stronger collective motion at a higher freeze-out *** reason for this positive correlation is th

In this paper, the principle of the methane gas enhanced the laser absorption by the WGM of high-Q microsphere was studied. A taper optical fiber was used as a coupler to couple 1653.72 nm laser into a microsphere with a optical fiber handle to form whispering gallery mode(WGM). The resonant wavelength of the microsphere cavity was changed to 1653.72 nm by injecting heating light along the handle, so that one resonant wavelength of the microsphere is just 1653.72 nm. The 1653.72 nm laser forms WGM continuously to surround the microsphere, and the effective optical path is greatly increased, which increases the interaction distance with methane, and thus the sensitivity of methane detection is improved. The results show that the microsphere with WGM can be used as a gas sensor. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Electrocatalytic N_(2)reduction reaction (NRR) has been considered as a promising and alternative strategy for the synthesis of NH_(3),which will contribute to the goal of carbon neutrality and ***,this process often suffers from the barrier for N_(2)activation and competitive reactions,resulting in poor NH_(3)yield and low Faraday efficiency (FE).Here,we report a two-dimensiona(2D) ultrathin FeS nanosheets with high conductivity through a facile and scalable method under mild *** synthesized FeS catalysts can be used as the work electrode in the electrochemical NRR cell with N_(2)-saturated Na_(2)SO_(4)*** a catalyst shows a NH_(3)yield of 9.0μg·h^(-1)·mg^(-1)(corresponding to 1.47×10^(-4)μmol·s^(-1)·cm^(-2)) and a high FE of 12.4%,which significantly outperformed the other most NRR *** high catalytic performance of FeS can be attributed to the 2D mackinawite structure,which provides a new insight to explore low-cost and high-performance Fe-based electrocatalysts,as well as accelerates the practical application of the NRR.

Methane is a flammable and explosive gas, which is the main component of natural gas, mashgas, and biogas. Using the technology of tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) to detect methane, which does not require oxygen, no poisoning, no calibrating, has gas selectivity, strong environmental adaptability, and is stable and reliable. The laser transmission with the optical fiber has the characteristics of low optical loss, long distance and flexible networking. This manuscript demonstrated an optical fiber laser methane detection device based on TDLAS and its application. The laser was transmitted to the methane detection position by optical fiber, and the laser interacted with methane in the optical fiber gas box. The optical fiber collimator coupled the surplus laser into the optical fiber and sent it back to the monitoring *** photoelectric detector converted the surplus laser to an electrical signal. The monitoring device operation was based on the principle of TDLAS and analyzed the returned laser strength to obtain the concentration of methane. This manuscript described the principle, composition and monitoring spot network of the fiber laser methane monitoring device and shown a practical application. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Lattice thermal conductivity of ZrSe2 based on the anharmonic phonon approach and on-the-fly machine learning force fields

The lattice thermal conductivity (LTC) of ZrSe2, a typical layered transition metal disulfide, has been calculated using a hybrid approach that combines force field molecular dynamics (MD) simulation and Boltzmann transport equation (BTE). In this approach, the phonon quasiparticle picture of each normal mode can be obtained directly by the velocity autocorrelation function and its power spectrum projected in q space. By employing the retarded one phonon Green's function method, the phonon quasiparticle frequency and lifetime of each independent normal mode are effectively determined. On-the-fly machine learning force fields combine the precision of quantum mechanics and the scale of classical MD to analyze sizable supercells with long-wavelength phonons. This yields accurate LTC by using sufficient q samples in the Brillouin zone, which cannot be achieved at the ab initio molecular dynamics scale. The convergent LTC tensor of bulk and monolayer ZrSe2 decays faster with increasing temperature than the well-known 1T scale, which is typically observed when considering only three phonon scattering. The phonon lifetime and mean free path exhibit significant dependence on temperature. MD simulations encompass all orders of anharmonic effects, thereby enabling an accurate description of anharmonic interactions between phonons at finite temperatures. Moreover, this approach respects the contribution of each normal mode to the LTC based on the BTE, which facilitates the quantitative analysis of phonon anharmonic properties and the role of specific normal modes.

Ion cyclotron resonance heating(ICRH)stands out as a widely utilized and cost-effective auxiliary method for plasma heating,bearing significant importance in achieving high-performance discharges in p-^(11)B *** light of the specific context of p-^(11)B plasma in the EHL-2 device,we conducted a comprehensive scan of the fundamental physical parameters of the antenna using the full-wave simulation program *** preliminary result indicated that for p-^(11)B plasma,optimal ion heating parameters include a frequency of 40 MHz,with a high toroidal mode number like N_(?)=28 to heat the majority H *** addition,we discussed the impact of concentration of minority ion species on ion cyclotron resonance heating when^(11)B serves as the heavy minority *** significant difference in charge-to-mass ratio between boron and hydrogen ions results in a considerable distance between the hybrid resonance layer and the tow inverted cyclotron resonance layer,necessitating a quite low boron ion concentration to achieve effective minority *** also considered another method of direct heating of hydrogen ions in the presence of boron ion *** is found that at appropriate boron ion concentrations(X(^(11)B)~17%),the position of the hybrid resonance layer approaches that of the hydrogen ion cyclotron resonance layer,thereby altering the polarization at this position and significantly enhancing hydrogen ion fundamental absorption.

The resonant wavelength of the microsphere was tuned by injecting light along the fiber handle of the microsphere, and the refractive index of the microsphere was changed by absorbing light and converting heat with the coating of the sphere crown. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
