Hierarchical hollow structure has demonstrated potential for enhancing electromagnetic(EM)attenuation and improving impedance matching,garnering significant attention for ***,we have successfully implemented compositional and structural engineering to fabricate hollow Mo2C/C microspheres with controllable composition by coupling interaction between dopamine hydrochloride and ammonium *** the synergistic effect of composition and hollow structure,the strongest reflection loss intensity and broadest effective absorption of the optimized sample reach-70.2 dB and 6.2 GHz,*** formation of hollow heterogeneous structures not only favors impedance matching feature,but also generates considerable contribution to EM attenuation ***,radar cross-section simulation data indicate that hollow Mo2C/C microspheres with compositional optimization and heterogeneous structures have broad prospects for practical applications.

Investigation on the Gamma-Rays Induced Radiation Damage Effect of LaBr3: Ce and CeBr3 Crystals

This work investigates gamma-rays induced radiation damage effect in LaBr3: Ce and CeBr3 crystals. Optical and scintillation properties of these crystals were characterized before and after irradiation up to 2×106 rad. The recovery of radiation damage was observed in both crystals. After the crystals were irradiated at various dose rates, it is confirmed the radiation damage saturation cannot be attributed to the dose rate dependent effect. After the irradiation up to 2×106 rad, the loss of emission-weighted longitudinal transmittance (EWLT) values is approximately 4.7% for LaBr3: Ce and 6.0% for CeBr3. Meanwhile, the light yield (LY) loss of LaBr3: Ce and CeBr3 crystals is approximately 12.3% and 11.6%, respectively. The excellent correlation between EWLT loss and LY loss indicates the LY degradation in the both crystals can be mainly attributed to the loss of transmittance. The deterioration of energy resolution (ER) after 2 Mrad irradiation ranges from 5.1% to 6.7% for LaBr3: Ce and from 8.7% to 9.5% for CeBr3. The decay time is not affected by radiation damage. Compared with other scintillation crystals, LaBr3: Ce and CeBr3 crystals are radiation hard. These findings provide important insights into the behavior of these materials working at severe radiation environments, which is essential for their applications and production. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

As a promising cathode material for aqueous zinc-ion batteries,1T-MoS_(2)has been extensively investigated because of its facile two-dimensional ion-diffusion channels and high electrical ***,the limited number of available Zn storage sites,i.e.,limited capacity,hinders its application because the inserted Zn^(2+),which form strong electrostatic interactions with 1T-MoS_(2),preventing subsequent Zn^(2+)***,the approach of enlarging the interlayer distance to reduce electrostatic interactions has been commonly used to enhance the capacity and reduce Zn^(2+)migration ***,an enlarged interlayer spacing can weaken the van der Waals force between 1T-MoS_(2)monolayers,easily disrupting the structural ***,to address this issue,an effective strategy based on Fe doping is proposed for 1T-MoS_(2)(Fe-1T-MoS_(2)).The theoretical calculations reveal that Fe doping can simultaneously moderate the rate of decrease in the adsorption energy after gradually increasing the number of stored atoms,and enhance the electron delocalization on metal-O ***,the experiment results show that Fe doping can simultaneously activate more Zn storage sites,thus enhancing the capacity,and stabilize the structural stability for improved cycling ***,Fe-1T-MoS_(2)exhibits a larger capacity(189 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1))and superior cycling stability(78%capacity retention after 400 cycles at 2 A·g^(-1))than pure 1T-MoS_(2).This work may open up a new avenue for constructing high-performance MoS_(2)-based cathodes.

We search for nuclear recoil signals of dark matter(DM)models with a light mediator using data taken from a p-type point-contact germanium detector of the CDEX-10 experiment at the China Jinping Underground *** 90%confidence level upper limits on the DM-nucleon interaction cross section from 205.4 kg-day exposure data are derived,excluding the new parameter space in 2−3 GeV DM mass when the mediator mass is comparable to or lower than the typical momentum *** further interpret our results to constrain a specific self-interacting DM model with a light mediator coupling to the photon through kinetic mixing and set experimental limits on the model parameter region favored by astrophysical observations.

Ultra-low-light visible–near-infrared position-sensitive detector based on femtosecond laser nitrogen-hyperdoped silicon

We introduce position-sensitive detectors (PSDs) based on femtosecond laser-structured sulfur-doped, nitrogen-doped, and S-N co-hyperdoped black silicon. In contrast to crystalline silicon, black silicon-based PSDs exhibit linear lateral photovoltage dependent on the light spot position. Thermal annealing at 873 K induces a tenfold enhancement in the position sensitivity of nitrogen-doped black silicon, reaching 129 mV/mm under white light irradiation. The device exhibits spectral response to 460–1150 nm wavelengths, achieving 99.7 mV/mm sensitivity with © 2025 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.

Twofold symmetric superconductivity in NbSe2 monolayers with vacancy defects

Monolayer NbSe2, as an Ising superconductor, has attracted considerable attention. Experimentally, its samples inevitably contain defects, yet the effects of these defects on superconductivity remain largely unexplored. Here, we demonstrate that selenium (Se) monovacancies, the most common defects in monolayer NbSe2, critically affect superconductivity. Specifically, Se monovacancies disrupt both the out-of-plane mirror symmetry and the C3z rotational symmetry in pristine monolayer NbSe2, resulting in an asymmetric spin-orbit coupling (SOC). While pristine monolayer NbSe2, which possesses Ising SOC, exhibits an isotropic in-plane upper critical field (Bc2), the asymmetric SOC induced by Se monovacancies leads the in-plane Bc2 to display an anisotropic twofold symmetry in response to the direction of the in-plane magnetic field. Furthermore, Se monovacancies significantly reduce the in-plane spin susceptibility of the superconducting state, causing Bc2 to exceed the Pauli limit only moderately, consistent with experimental observations. These findings provide valuable insights into the role of defects in tuning superconductivity of two-dimensional materials.

A Computer Simulation Study on Deposition Patterns of Cyclic Diblock Copolymer Solution Nanodroplets:Influence of Polymer Length and Concentration

Molecular dynamics simulations are conducted to investigate the deposition patterns of cyclic diblock copolymer solution nanodroplets on solid surfaces(walls).The primary focus is how initial polymer concentration,chain length,and solvent-wall interaction affect these *** patterns are categorized into phase diagrams,mainly composed of multihollow,coffee-ring,and multilayer *** also study the deposition of polymer blocks with different adsorption behavior by adjusting the interaction strength between the polymer block and the wall[ε_(A(B)W)],including weakly adsorbable(ε_(A(B)W)=0.6),moderately adsorbable(ε_(A(B)W)=1.0),and strongly adsorbable(εA(B)W=1.2)polymer *** study identifies the key factors influencing the droplet’s deposition structure and elucidates the mechanisms behind pattern *** findings contribute to the design of deposition patterns for cyclic diblock copolymer solution nanodroplets,enhancing applications related to droplet evaporation.

Formation mechanism of multiple spallation and its penetration induced by shear localization in NiTi alloy under implosion loading

This study uses nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations to explore the dynamic failures and deformation mechanisms of a cylindrical shell composed of nanocrystalline nickel-titanium alloy under implosion *** discover that some individual spall planes are sequentially generated in the material along the propagation of a radial stress wave,indicative of the formation of multiple *** larger grain sizes,void nucleation at the first spallation occurs in a coexisting intergranular/transgranular manner,whereas with decreasing grain size,voids tend to nucleate along the grain ***,the spall strength exhibits a transition from an inverse Hall-Petch to a Hall-Petch *** larger grain sizes,at the secondary spallation,localized shearing zones and grain boundaries provide potential void-nucleated ***,the formation of shear deformation bands promotes grain refinement,contributing to a reduction in the dislocation-induced strengthening ***,a lower spall strength is produced,in contrast to the first *** the grain size becomes smaller,voids nucleate mostly along grain boundaries,and plastic deformation is dominated by dense grain ***,the high temperature caused by shear localization leads to material weakening,and in turn there is a significant decrease in the spall strength for the secondary spallation,compared with the ***,significant penetration between two spall planes is observed for large grain size,which can be attributed to the nucleation of voids on linking grain boundaries,with temperatures exceeding the melting point of the material.
