With the rapid development of service computing technology, how to recommend the desirable Web APIs to developers from the large number of APIs is a challenge. The traditional methods based on collaborative filtering are limited by data sparsity. With the support of multi-dimensional relational feature modeling, graph neural network-based methods are proposed to mitigate data sparsity, but their convolution nature may amplify the noise effect. Therefore, how to simultaneously reduce the impact of sparsity and noisy data has been an open question in the field of API recommendation. To address the problem, this paper proposes a self-supervised learning method based on multi-view hypergraph for Web API recommendation. First, the Mashup-API interaction graph is transformed into a hypergraph, and the hyperedges are used as intermediate hubs to transfer messages between nodes, maintaining the global collaboration effect between Mashup and API nodes. Then, a multi-view strategy is adopted to generate embeddings of Mashups and APIs through information fusion, by which recommendation probability is derived by dot product between the embeddings of Mashups and Web APIs. To train the model parameters effectively, a self-supervised learning method is used to reduce the effect of noisy data to improve the embeddings. Extensive experiments are conducted on a real-world dataset, and the experimental results show that the proposed model outperforms the baselines. © 2024 IEEE.

Smart Grids (SG) rely on Home Area Networks (HAN) and Neighborhood Area Networks (NAN) to ensure efficient power distribution, real-time monitoring, and seamless communication between smart devices. Despite these advantages, the use of public communication channels in HAN and NAN networks introduces critical challenges, such as vulnerability to impersonation, physical tampering, and scalability issues in resource-constrained environments. These issues compromise the stability, reliability, and security of SG environments. Existing protocols often fail to adequately address these challenges, particularly in ensuring resistance to physical tampering of supply lines and impersonation attacks. Additionally, they struggle to minimize the computation, communication, and energy costs associated with securing a resource-constrained SG environment. Therefore, we propose a robust key exchange and tamper-resistant protocol for HAN and NAN networks to address these limitations. The proposed protocol leverages the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) mechanism to offer physical tampering resistance to smart meters. We validate our protocol formally using the Random or Real (RoR) model, which confirms its security robustness. Additionally, our informal security analysis highlights the protocol's resilience against impersonation, physical tampering attacks, etc. We analyze and compare the performance of the proposed protocol, which further demonstrates our protocol's effectiveness and security compared to competing protocols. Moreover, the proposed protocol achieves resource efficiency with 45.99% and 58.85% substantial reductions in computation overhead and energy overhead, respectively, compared to competing protocols. These results showcase the protocol's enhanced security and practicality for resource-constrained SG environments. © 2014 IEEE.

Social phobia is a prevalent mental health con-dition characterized by overwhelming fear on apprehension of social situations, often leading individuals to avoid such encounters. It is a very common mental disorder among adolescents and can have a significant bad effect on their social skills and well-beings if not intervened early. Existing methods to assess social anxiety level rely on self-report scales or clinical diagnosis, both of which may face challenges like subjective judgments and patient resistance. To address this, we applied Virtual Reality technology (VR) and introduced event-oriented social anxiety dataset (EOSAD) to serve for fine-grained social anxiety level detected model. A case study (N = 44) was conducted where participants wore a Vive Pro Eye HMD to experience two types of scenes and labeled their social anxiety level accordingly. During the experiment, relevant signals and social anxiety scores were collected, including (1) behavioral signals (head and eye movements) (2) physiological signals (heart rate (HR), electrodermal activity (EDA), etc.) (3) discrete social anxiety self-reported labels (4) evaluation questionnaires. We first verified the labels, and furthermore ran baseline classification experiments, where GRU model showed best accuracy: 92.84 %for binary classification. It was also found that either behavioral data or physiological signals alone could achieve satisfactory accuracies (85.64% and 91.02%) while the combined achieved slightly higher(92.84 %) © 2024 IEEE.

In the realm of medical image analysis, self-supervised learning (SSL) techniques have emerged to alleviate labeling demands, while still facing the challenge of training data scarcity owing to escalating resource requirements and privacy constraints. Numerous efforts employ generative models to generate high-fidelity, unlabeled 3D volumes across diverse modalities and anatomical regions. However, the intricate and indistinguishable anatomical structures within the abdomen pose a unique challenge to abdominal CT volume generation compared to other anatomical regions. To address the overlooked challenge, we introduce the Locality-Aware Diffusion (Lad), a novel method tailored for exquisite 3D abdominal CT volume generation. We design a locality loss to refine crucial anatomical regions and devise a condition extractor to integrate abdominal priori into generation, thereby enabling the generation of large quantities of high-quality abdominal CT volumes essential for SSL tasks without the need for additional data such as labels or radiology reports. Volumes generated through our method demonstrate remarkable fidelity in reproducing abdominal structures, achieving a decrease in FID score from 0.0034 to 0.0002 on AbdomenCT-1K dataset, closely mirroring authentic data and surpassing current methods. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in self-supervised organ segmentation tasks, resulting in an improvement in mean Dice scores on two abdominal datasets effectively. These results underscore the potential of synthetic data to advance self-supervised learning in medical image analysis. © 2024 ACM.

Frequent road incidents cause significant physical harm and economic losses globally. The key to ensuring road safety lies in accurately perceiving surrounding road incidents. However, the highly dynamic nature of traffic introduces significant challenges, particularly in detecting sudden and temporary incidents. In this article, we propose a novel detection framework, multihead attention ResNet with dynamic bottleneck (DB_RESNET_MHA), to identify physical unsigned road incidents. Our approach introduces three key innovations. First, we develop a tailored data augmentation strategy to create images that closely mimic the complex variations found in real-world road environments. Second, we enhance model expressiveness by employing attention mechanisms to nonlinearly integrate convolutional kernels within the residual network. Furthermore, we refine the prediction head by applying spatially distinct attention weights, enabling the model to capture intricate correlations between different features more effectively. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our method, we create a dataset for unsigned road incidents (UnsignRI), comprising a total of 16 323 images that capture 12 distinct types of incidents. It stands out as the most comprehensive dataset in the field, encompassing a wide range of geographical features and incident categories. Experimental results show that DB_RESNET_MHA achieves an average accuracy of 96.2% and a f1-score of 0.955 across various categories of unsigned incidents, surpassing other models. © 2020 IEEE.

Snake robots, exhibiting a high degree of redundancy, are a class of biomimetic robots capable of forming a helical rolling gait for climbing trees and pipes. The surface structure of naturally grown trees is irregular, which may hinder the snake robots from achieving optimal surface conformation. Additionally, the presence of numerous branching structures in pipes introduces unpredictability in pipe climbing. To address these challenges, we propose an adaptive climbing strategy for snake robots based on compliant control. By adjusting a pre-set elasticity coefficient, the snake robot modulates the output torque of each joint, thereby altering the target angle of the joint. This adjustment enables the snake robot to adapt to unstructured environments. We conducted an experiment on climbing curved pipes to verify the effectiveness of this method. The result demonstrate that under unknown conditions, the robustness of the snake robot's climbing motion is enhanced by modifying the pre-set elasticity coefficient based on compliant control. This finding underscores the potential of compliant control in improving the adaptability and performance of Snake robots in complex environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Nowadays, artificial intelligence-based tasks are imposing increasing demands on computation resources and energy consumption. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely utilized in mobile edge computing (MEC) due to maneuverability and integration of MEC servers, providing computation assistance to ground terminals (GTs). The task offloading process from GTs to UAVs in UAV-enabled MEC faces challenges such as workload imbalance among UAVs due to uneven GT distribution and conflicts arising from the increasing number of GTs and limited communication resources. Additionally, the dynamic nature of communication networks and workload needs to be considered. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a Multi-Agent Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient based distributed offloading method, named DMARL, treating each GT as an independent decision-maker responsible for determining task offloading strategies and transmission power. Furthermore, a UAV-enabled MEC with Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access architecture is introduced, incorporating task computation and transmission queue models. In addition, a differential reward function that considers both system-level rewards and individual rewards for each GT is designed. Simulation experiments conducted in three different scenarios demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits superior performance in balancing latency and energy consumption. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Learning to generate motions of thin structures such as plant leaves in dynamic view synthesis is challenging. This is because thin structures usually undergo small but fast, non-rigid motions as they interact with air and wind. When given a set of RGB images or videos of a scene with moving thin structures as input, existing methods that map the scene to its corresponding canonical space for rendering novel views fail as the object movements are too subtle compared to the background. Disentangling the objects with thin parts from the background scene is also challenging when the parts show fast and rapid motions. To address these issues, we propose a Neural Radiance Field (NeRF)-based framework that accurately reconstructs thin structures such as leaves and captures their subtle, fast motions. The framework learns the geometry of a scene by mapping the dynamic images to a canonical scene in which the scene remains static. We propose a ray masking network to further decompose the canonical scene into foreground and background, thus enabling the network to focus more on foreground movements. We conducted experiments using a dataset containing thin structures such as leaves and petals, which include image sequences collected by us and one public image sequence. Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) as an emerging technique have shown excellent performance in a variety of fields, such as social networks and recommendation systems. However, GNNs may have to overcome privacy concerns as large amounts of information about their training datasets may be compromised. In this paper, we develop a privacy-preserving GNN to enforce privacy preservation, which utilizes a private Functional Mechanism (FM) to train the learning model. This mechanism perturbs the polynomial approximation of the objective function to enforce Differential Privacy (DP) in the GNN model. We show that our method can maximize the accuracy of the results with comparable prediction power to the unperturbed results while satisfying the privacy guarantees. © 2023 IEEE.
